Lake Tahoe Log Cabin Beach Access

Cabin - Entire home/apt · Forest Dr, Tahoma, CA 96142, United States

The Space

This is my family's only vacation home, and is very dear to our hearts. Its a three bedroom log cabin located in Rubicon Bay on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. It has six beds, and can sleep up to 10 people. Its fairly rustic, but with all the comforts of home... and its a quick 10 minute walk down to the lake.

Its perfect for a family vacation... whether its a long weekend, or an extended multi-week getaway. Bring the pets, the kids, and the snowboards/bathing suits. Lake Tahoe is an amazing place... and having your own comfy place there is the best way to do it.

In the Summer its a great place to relax and have a barbecue after a day of sitting on the beach or hiking in the woods. We're a 20 minute drive from Emerald Bay, D.L. Bliss State Park, and Sugar Pine State Park. We have beach access, and the use of a shared dock on the most beautiful (and yes... SANDY) beach on Lake Tahoe. The water is clear, and the sand is hot. There's a volleyball court, and a swimming area... and a great community of families all summer long.

In the Winter, its a great spot for a family ski retreat. Its a quick 20 minute drive to Homewood Ski Resort... the best-kept secret of the Tahoe Ski community. The lift tickets are $66 for a full day, and the lift lines are non-existent. Light up the giant fireplace, and bust out the 80's board-games... cause there's nothing quite like getting snowed in at a log cabin.

Also... we recently improved the place by purchasing the complete Settlers of CATAN family pack. So for those of you who crave a massive Cities, Knights, and Seafarers table top explosion... we've got you covered. (I'm talking about a board game for those who don't know)

Any time of year, this place is a magical, quiet place to relax. We've loved it since 1984, and we've had hundreds of guests throughout the years who've enjoyed it with us.

Check In
  • We had a great time here; its cosy and warm because of a great gas heater downstairs thats on all the time. We skied and boarded, at Heavenly and North Star, both a bit of a hike away but do-able. The kitchen had what we needed, the kids enjoyed the warm beds, and we all greatly enjoyed the open fire which we had blazing in the evening. We brought a bunch of firewood with us, and frankly stole from the neglected piles of the neighbors a few logs. The house was smaller than we expected judging by the photos, and I wouldn't want to be staying in it with more than just our family of four - it would get pretty crowded especially in the small kitchen. A great time, and a sweet and cosy little house all in all!

  • I stayed dutton christmas time with friends and their dogs. The house was set up very comfortable. It was so nice to not be charged for pets or additional guests. Even in the winter the beach access was fantastic! What a gem.

  • I decided to take a last minute thanksgiving trip to tahoe, and I literally was able to book this place a few hours before I arrived.

Thanks to Bill for his prompt response. The cottage is super cozy: large fireplace, comfy couches and plenty of blankets.

There were plenty of kitchen tools to prepare thanksgiving dinner for me and my bro, and plenty of firewood tp eat enough smores to make us sick.

    thanks bill!

  • We had a great time, a smaller older cabin is just what we were looking for. The cabin is well stocked and my kids loved playing the old board games. The private beach is one of the nicest in Tahoe.
I will definitely comeback to this cabin. John & Kalena

  • Spent the week there for Thanksgiving and had an amazing time. We brought our own roasting pan and other cooking necessities for a full Thanksgiving feast but were pleasantly surprised to find that we didn't need to bring them. The cabin is adorable and cozy. The beach is amazing; the cabin is a perfect warm weather spot.

  • We had a great week at the cabin. It is near an amazing beach...definitely the highlight of our week at Tahoe. Owner was very helpful. The only negative experience we had all week was the lack of garbage service (it was a pain trying to find a place to throw our trash bags away).
    Overall, highly recommended!
