Description

The space

OUR PLACE:
"The Best Kept Secret in Park Slope!" writes a recent guest.
Ideally situated on First St, in the heart of trendy Park Slope close to 5th Avenue, we offer a freshly painted sunny bedroom on the top floor of our 1888 one family brownstone.

The light filled room overlooks a quiet tree lined street. Guests have their own entrance to the house “up the stoop”on the second floor level, separated from the family space. Please be aware that we have a bit of a climb to the top floor!
There is a spacious bathroom with an extra wide mirror and double hand basins, hair dryer and radio.
A separate toilet room with small hand basin.
Both are private for guest use only.
We supply fresh linens and towels.

Washer / dryer near the bathroom is available for a reasonable charge, including detergent.

The bedroom sleeps two and has the original shutters, comfortable full sized bed with duvet, desk and chair, armchair, large closet space, two chests of drawers, luggage rack, mirror, air conditioning, ceiling fan, good internet and Wifi reception, mini fridge, coffee maker and electric kettle. We provide bottled water, china cups, plates, bowls, silverware, napkins, a selection of tea bags and instant coffee. Paper goods and coffee filters are kept in top drawer of dresser. For light sensitive guests we cover the shutters with black felt. Guests are welcome to bring food and refreshments back to the room.

Traveling with children or others? We have an additional large bedroom with double bed available on the same floor which can sleep two. We also have a small room with a single bed on this floor. Each person using these rooms carries an additional nightly fee to be agreed upon in advance.

TRANSPORTATION & PARKING:
Subways N, R, F, 4, 5, 2, 3, to Manhattan are conveniently close, as is the Long Island Railroad and Brooklyn bus routes B63 and B61. Street parking is available but often difficult on weekdays in the area.

NEIGHBORHOOD & AMENITIES:
The neighborhood has everything you need a few steps away: excellent restaurants, popular coffee shops, bars and patisseries, groceries, supermarkets, clothing shops, banks, post offices, a 24 hour pharmacy and delis and music venues.

We are within easy walking distance of playgrounds, cinemas, art galleries, Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Public Library, Brooklyn Lyceum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, weekend flea and farmers markets and the Barclay Center.

FOR KIDS:
There are lots of activities for kids including interactive drop-in concerts led by our daughter Amelia, called Mil's Trills. Our guests with children get free tickets!

Guest access

separate entryway on second floor up the stoop, carpeted staircase to top floor, guest bedroom/s, bathroom, toilet room, top floor stairs and hallway.

Getting around

We are within close walking distance of the R train at Union St, the F train at 7th Ave, the 2/3 at Bergen St or Grand Army Plaza and the B/Q at 7th Avenue. The apartment was clean and comfortable and had all we needed for our short stay, with a mini fridge, coffeemaker, fruit and beautiful bouquet of daffodils. Very convenient location in Park Slope. Easy to communicate with Diana by text. We’d be happy to stay here again.

Great Park Slope location but even better room. We had the whole upper floor to ourselves. Large bedroom, very large private bath with two sinks. Mini fridge and coffee maker in room. Very good Wi-Fi. Diana is a wonderful host.

We booked Diana's place to attend the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony at the Barclay's Center. This beautiful Brownstone located in Park Slope is in a prime location! Right around the corner from many shops and great restaurants and within walking distance to the Barclay's Center. The room itself is lovely! Quite spacious and very clean. Very nice large bathroom as well. Diana was extremely easy to communicate with. She answered all questions very quickly, even gave me a suggestion of a nearby salon when I asked! She greeted us upon arrival and showed us to our room. She showed us the beautiful gardens in the back. The magnolias were just blooming. She even gave us a nice Children's cd for our kids when we were leaving since I told her ahead of time myself and my husband were coming alone. However, I will definitely be making a trip back with the kids. I could have stayed much longer. It is close enough to take an Uber, taxi or subway to Manhattan, but I think I have definitely found a new travel spot!
