The Space

"The Best Kept Secret in Park Slope!" writes a recent guest.
Ideally situated on First St, in the heart of trendy Park Slope close to 5th Avenue, we offer a sunny bedroom on the top floor of our 1888 one family brownstone.

The light filled room overlooks a quiet tree lined street. Guests have their own entrance to the house “up the stoop”on the second floor level, separated from the family space.

Spacious bathroom with an extra wide mirror and double hand basins, hair dryer and radio.
A separate toilet room with small hand basin.
Both are private for guest use only.
We supply fresh linens and towels.

Washer / dryer near the bathroom is available for a reasonable charge, including detergent.

The bedroom sleeps two and has the original shutters, comfortable full sized bed with duvet, desk and chair, armchair, large closet space, two chests of drawers, luggage rack, mirror, air conditioning, ceiling fan, good internet and wifi reception, mini fridge, coffee maker and electric kettle. We provide china cups, plates, silverware, napkins, tea and instant coffee. Guests are welcome to bring food and refreshments back to the room.

Traveling with children or others? We have an additional large bedroom with full bed available on the same floor which can sleep two. We also have a small room with a single bed on same floor. We welcome inquiries re room rates.

Subways N, R, F, 4, 5, 2, 3, to Manhattan are conveniently close, as is the Long Island Railroad and Brooklyn bus routes B63 and B61. Street parking is available but often difficult on weekdays in the area.

The neighborhood has everything you need a few steps away: excellent restaurants, popular coffee shops, bars and patisseries, groceries, supermarkets, clothing shops, banks, post offices, a 24 hour pharmacy and delis and music venues.

We are within easy walking distance of playgrounds, cinemas, art galleries, Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Public Library, Brooklyn Lyceum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, weekend flea and farmers markets and the Barclay Center.

There are lots of activities for kids including interactive drop-in concerts led by our daughter Amelia, called Mil'sTrills. Our guests with children get free tickets!

  • A great experience. Everything went super smoothly even though Diana was not there to check us in. The room is very comfortable and the bathroom is functional and clean.

  • I couldn't have been happier with our experience at Diana's. She was there to greet us, there was a bowl of fresh fruit in the room, everything was spotless and we appreciated having our own air conditioner. We loved the location: a safe, quiet, tree-lined street only a few steps from 5th Ave which made my early morning coffee run a breeze. This was our first Airbnb experience and it couldn't have been better, right down to the note taped to the door in the morning guiding us to a market with the best almond croissants. 100% pleased, 100% recommend, and 100% hope to return.

  • My stay at Diana's was great in every ways: a very helpful host, a great room, a spacious bathroom and an very nice location.
If I'd come back to NYC, I'd stay there again with no hesitation.

  • Delightful and warm host Diana was there to meet us on our arrival. She was there to answer questions and chat about our daily adventures. We had plenty of privacy and came went as we pleased. The room and bathroom are as pictured, comfortable, sunny and lots of room. Large bathroom with 2 sinks, hair dryer and great shower. We had a room air conditioner which was great for the warmer nights. We loved staying in Park Slope with so many good restaurants, shops and a fantastic neighborhood for walking. The subway is easily accessed by 10 minute walk and then a 20- 30 minute commute into Manhattan. We went into Manhattan in the evening to see a Broadway show and returned at night via subway without any difficulty. We also enjoyed the amazing Brooklyn Museum. We would stay again. Thanks Diana and Joel for hosting us!

  • Everything is perfect! This is the second time we stay at Diana's place. The bedroom is very clean and as shown in the photos. The bathroom is big & very clean. We love seeing Diana and her daughter Amelia - they are such wonderful and friendly hosts. The location is terrific & very safe. Short walks to tonnes of good restaurants and 5-10 min. walk to subways. We highly recommend this place. A++++ Thank you very much for great hospitality and we look forwards to staying here again soon :)))

  • The neighbourhood (Park Slope) was lovely and the house was perfect. Unfortunatly we didn't had the change to meet Diana due to her being away for a holiday. However, she made sure her daughter was at the house to welcome us and make us feel at home during our stay!

  • Diana welcomed us at the door, and showed us around. The house is very lovely and old in a quiet naberhood. We had to climb up a tall stair and we had a lot of own space one floor up. The bed was wonderfull, and so was the airbed my son slept on. enough furniture to store our things and a very big and comfortabel bathroom and toilet. Diana's house is located 30 minutes walk from Barclays centre, where the New York Nets play, so there is a central subway station from where you can easily go to everywhere in the city off Newyork, that was fantastic in de location of Diana's house.

  • My husband and I stayed for 8 nights at Diana's gorgeous Brownstone in our first visit to NY. The room is spacious and clean, bed is comfortable, and as the days were unusually cold the heat was on and it was cozy inside all times. Bathroom is big and clean as well and it is all very private.
Diana and her husband were very very kind, friendly and attentive to us, helped us with planning our displacement to the city during the first days, and checked if we had any needs when we met but they respect privacy a lot as well.
The neighborhood is quiet and nice, there are a lot of great cafes and restaurants around and the subway is quite close. Everyone in the neighborhood is friendly as well. It's nice to arrive from Manhattan to such a lovely and quiet neighborhood after a tiring day.
We recommend Diana's place so much and when we return to NY we'll make sure to stay with them again. It was such a great experience.
