My wife and I spend one week with Bruna and Ken cruising around the USVIs and BVIs. We had an absolutely amazing, fantastic, stellar time. We give the fun experience and good time we had 10 out of 10 stars. Lady Margaret (the yacht) is very spacious, comfortable and luxurious. The sleeping cabins are essentially upscale hotel rooms. Over the course of the week, we undertook many wonderful activities: Swimming and snorkeling with sea turtles, stingrays and hundreds of varieties of colorful fish. Sunbathing and playing frisbee on many beautiful beaches. Hiking and visiting historical sites on St. John, enjoying breath-taking views overlooking the ocean and the VIs. Having beers on Willy T., the floating bar in the BVIs. Enjoying a very romantic dinner at ZoZo -an old sugar mill- with a beautiful view. Touring The Baths in Virgin Gorda. Having drinks watching the beautiful sunsets every night - and every night we got to experience a different bay. Every day was a highlight in itself, and, above all, Bruna and Ken are excellent hosts. Bruna is a wizard in the kitchen, making delicious breakfasts, lunches, snacks and dinners… steak, swordfish, shrimp, etc. all with her own unique twists and creativity. One of the desserts she made, Amaretto strawberry tart with a dark chocolate crust made from scratch, was one of the very best desserts that I have ever had in my life. My wife asked her for a bunch of her recipes… Ken is a really fun captain, who is very knowledge about the area. For example, he took us to some areas with particularly stunning snorkeling, and bays with the best sunsets. Also, he has a great sense of humor, so we laughed a lot! We would love to go back one day. In fact, I am sure we will.
US Coast Guard Licensed Capt. Ken Tatarow was born in Chicago and raised in the west coast of Florida. Ken has been boating for over 30 years and spent 10 years successfully chartering his previous motor yacht " Sea Star" throughout the leeward and windward islands. In 2001, he sold his yacht, married his wife Bruna and built a thriving financing business in Florida.
After many years went by, the couple realized they longed to go back to the Virgin Islands. They fell in love and purchased a 2008 64' Horizon Motor Yacht in Oregon, named her "Lady Margaret" and soon were back cruising the beautiful waters of the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, Canada, Costa Rica, Panama, San Blas Islands, Aruba and the Virgin Islands.
Ken is an excellent fisherman and underwater spear-fisherman, an avid swimmer, certified diver and red cross certified first aid CPR volunteer. He enjoys diving,sky-diving and collecting and racing muscle cars.
There is not a beach, hideaway, private cove, restaurant, bar or party in the Virgin Islands that Ken isn't familiar with.
