As well as the town of Rostrenen itself, with its weekly market, cafes, restaurants, a good range of shops, cinema and sport facilities, we are also close to the Nantes-Brest canal and one of France's Voie Verte (green paths) which are ideal for walkers and cyclists. There are many other attractions to be found in this beautiful area, including an historic abbey, the beautiful Lac de Guerledan with a full range of waterports, the Parc Naturel Regional d'Armorique, an Activity Centre with High Ropes for the more adventurous, as well as horse-riding and several golf courses. Rostrenen is ideally located for touring Brittany, with three coastlines less than an hour-and-a-half's drive away and numerous towns worth a day's visit, including Morlaix, Dinan, Vannes and Quimper.
All guests have a dedicated guest bedroom with en suite facilities; access is via a staircase from the hosts main living area.
Interaction with guests
We are here to answer questions and do whatever we can to make your stay enjoyable. Gourmet evening meals are taken with your hosts for a truly memorable evening of food, wine and conversation.
We are close enough to walk to the town centre in little more than 5 minutes, yet far enough out to be in a peaceful area.
Rostrenen is best reached by car or bicycle! There are buses from Carhaix, Loudeac or St Brieuc but these are infrequent.
No smoking inside the house. An ashtray is provided on the terrace which is covered.
Please request a packed lunch by 6pm the day before required or a light supper or gourmet evening meal no later than 10am on the day required.
Although we are happy to change towels daily, please consider the environment and help us to keep our prices down by re-using towels whenever possible (hang them up = I am happy to re-use my towels, throw them in the bottom of the shower = can I have fresh towels please).
We welcome dogs provided they will integrate with our friendly dog and two cats.
J'habite en France depuis 5 ans maintenant, j'aime me promener avec mon chien, jardiner et cuisiner. Je suis aussi membre d'un groupe de théâtre depuis plus de quatre ans.
I am English but have lived in France since March 2010 and absolutely love Brittany. I enjoy walking with my dog, gardening and cooking. Since living here, I have joined a drama group and have enjoyed both acting and directing.
I have two favorite quotes that reflect the way I live my life:
"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get." (Forrest Gump)
"I wanna be young the rest of my life
never say no - try anything twice
til the angels come and ask me to fly
I'm gonna be 18 til I die" (Bryan Adams)
