If you want to find out more about the location, its history and traditions you would just need to type "Gianicolo" (Janiculum) to the internet browser. So you may find that every day a cannot shot to marking time is fired in Rome. This tradition was introduced by Pope Pius XI on December 1st, 1847, to have a unique official signal at midday, rather than the disjointed sound of the bells of city churches. The place where the Cannon of the Janiculum is based is very close to the flat... to find out more ask the host!

Un séjour très agréable, l'appartement est confortable dans un quartier résidentiel bien desservi par les transports.
Proche du centre mais a l'écart du bruit ! un endroit idéal pour vivre à l'heure romaine !
We had a short stay in Rome and this was such a lovely place to stay. It was really nice to have a break from the tourist mayhem of the central city.
Valerio was great. We got the express train by mistake and missed our stop, making us quite late, but he was very relaxed and pleasant.
The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. Valerio recommended a supermarket really close buy which was very helpful and the kitchen had every thing we needed.
The three of us stayed in the flat. We liked the flat and the neighborhood. Valerio gave us important informations. It was easy to get to the center because of the bus and the tram.
Great host and great location. There was a bus/train strike on the day that we arrived at the station, but Valerio waited patiently for us, and helped us with the best way to get there in spite of this strike. In fact, when we arrived, we requested a few more utensils and bits and pieces, and Valerio ensured that they were delivered to the house by that afternoon - it was really appreciated.
The house itself was very nice, and was clean and tidy - and had lovely neighbours/was situated in a lovely neighbourhood. There was a great bus / train service 3mins walk from the flat, a great supermarket, and it was also within easy walking distance of the Trastevere restaurant area (which you could also bus to, if the Roman heat got too much!).
I'd definitely recommend this spot to any group - there were 5 of us, and there was plenty of space to make our own (and also a lovely roof terrace).
Thanks for a great stay, Valerio.
Valerio make the getting to his apartment easy.
Beautiful place to stay, Just 2 sad today to the Vatican. Valerio made our stay excellent. Great place. I'd love to stay again.
I highly recommend Valerio & his place.
Otima localização, local seguro, apartamento claro, arejado, atendeu perfeitamente.
Fantastic house, location and owner!!! Valerio was a first class host - very friendly and provided helpful advice. The rooms are lovely and big and the surrounding area is very safe. If you're unsure where to stay when in Rome - stay here. Valerio's apartment and friendly nature is unsurpassable. Thanks Valerio!
We were a little nervous about our first trip using airbnb, but this flat set us at ease right away. It was easy to get a train from the airport to Trastevere, in spite of our lack of Itlalian. Valerio met us at the train station and walked us up to the flat. He was willing to pick us up by car at the airport for a very reasonable fee, we were just eager to ride trains. The neighborhood is quiet compared to the chaos of central Rome. The flat was bright and airy, and very clean, with two bedrooms and a pullout couch in the livingroom/diningroom. The kitchen was fully stocked, and one of the two balcony's has a clothes line. A/C and wireless both were very convenient, even though we were willing to stay somewhere without. We had no problems with mosquitos, in spite of warnings from others about Rome in July. Valerio gave us very helpful hints about the best gelato we have had in Italy, and small neighborhood restaurants. He also told us where and how to catch the bus or train to Vatican and Colosseo. One night, the kids wanted to try to walk back from town, and we enjoyed a very magical midnight walk back through winding narrow roads and stairs through Trastevere. We felt very safe even after midnight. Our family of four can't recommend this flat highly enough. There is a little city noise of traffic when things close at night, but shutting the shutters on the street side took care of that, we slept very well. Thank you Valerio!
Valerio was a fantastic host. He gave us very clear instructions on how to reach his apartment and even picked us up from the bus stop! He then proceeded to show his favourite restaurant in the area (even though we arrived late around 10pm!). The apartment itself is great - very spacious and well decorated. The location is great for visiting Vatican City in particular, but also the rest of Rome. Would definitely recommend staying there.
Wonderfully spacious apartment in a peaceful street 20 mins from the centre of Rome. The apartment was more than adequate for our 5 day stay and we'd recommend it to anyone. We used the kitchen to cook which saved us money, there is a great supermarket near by, and took the very frequent bus to the centre each day to see the sights. Valerio is a great host and told us everything we needed to know.
