Great location
95% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
The Starry Nights Cabin is in a quiet, sunny spot easily accessed off a main road in the heart of the National Forest, but only a few minutes drive from midtown and Ski Apache. This is the place to unplug, go outside, and end each day with a glowing evening around the fire (inside or out). The large, fenced and forested backyard is ideal for kids to play in while adults relax on the deck or around the fire pit. If you are here during the snowy season, the backyard is great for sledding.

The space
The cabin has three bedrooms – the White Sands room has a king bed and tranquil décor. The Mural Room is a kid’s imagination paradise with twin bunk beds, a play tee-pee, and a forest chalk mural. The Porch Room has a queen bed, the best view of any of the rooms and is cozy and inviting.

The living room/dining area is set up for socializing, reading, playing games, and getting cozy by the fire. The new enclosed porch is for soaking up fresh air, taking a nap on the couch, and watching a family movie projected on the pull down screen in the evenings. The kitchen is stocked with utensils, dishes, pots and pans, mixing bowls, spices, coffee, tea, and condiments, and it is ready to cook a meal in. There is no dishwasher (coming soon!), so please handwash any dishes you may use, or bring disposables.

Cell phone reception is spotty at the cabin, but there is a landline for any calls you may need to make or receive during your stay. Also, there is no TV, but you will have access to high-speed WiFi that you can use with your devices to access any on-demand viewing accounts you may have. There is a ceiling-mounted projector with pull down screen on the enclosed porch that easily hooks up to your HDMI compatible device.

We are kid friendly! There is a treehouse above the deck and play teepees to spark imagination. To make packing simpler for families with young children, we provide a Pack n Play, umbrella stroller, changing table, toys, games, and drawing supplies for the little ones. The kitchen also has plastic dishes, and cups for mealtime.

Where you’ll be

Ruidoso, New Mexico, United States

This cabin brings the best of the Ruidoso together in one spot. It’s close to the ski area, and anything you might want to do in town, but also secluded enough that you get the quiet, forest experience as well. We are just down the street from some of the best hiking and mountain biking trails in the area, but also minutes away from great coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping. We enjoy going for walks right in the neighborhood too - Cedar Creek flows right across the street.

My husband and I are parents of three young children who are full of imagination and energy. We like to be outside, explore, and build things. We live and work in Las Cruces, but our cabin in Ruidoso is our home away from home. We’ve designed it to be a retreat for adults and kids alike to have fun and enjoy the beautiful surroundings together.
