A spacious double room with private en suite within a brand new property in the iconic village of Glenfinnan. We even serve you breakfast.

Peaceful and warm with panoramic mountain views, our home provides you with the ideal base in the Western Highlands to explore everything Glenfinnan has to offer as well as the surrounding region including Mallaig, Arisaig and Fort William.

The space
Named Bothan Glas ('grey cottage' in Gaelic), the property is finished to a high specification - our dream home! It is just off the main road but discreetly tucked behind a grassy knoll, overlooking Glenfinnan with views of Ben Nevis.

Our guest room has a private entrance allowing you the level of privacy you desire, and offers satellite TV, Wi-Fi/Ethernet, mini-fridge, hair dryer, kettle, tea, coffee, and fresh milk. The room is also equipped with underfloor heating and the bathroom includes a full size bath and separate shower enclosure.

Breakfast is included and we offer a range of Scottish breakfast options, from porridge to a full fry-up. Please mention any dietary requirements when booking; if you let us know, we can provide gluten free vegetarian and vegan menus.

Guest access
Vestibule, Hall, Guest Bedroom, Guest En-Suite, Dining area (for breakfast).

Other things to note
COVID-19 Policy
Our booking policy ensures that we have a full 29 hours between guests to permit thorough sanitization of the guest room, en-suite, breakfast area and entrance route. We will also be careful to maintain the recommended social distancing and sanitization procedures when providing breakfast.

As our business is also our home, we ask that you play your part in preventing the spread of this virus. If you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 infection prior to check-in please cancel your stay with us and self-isolate at home. We operate under the terms of airbnb's flexible cancellation policy. Unfortunately, if you develop symptoms while you are staying with us, we will not be able to host you beyond your booking period because this will affect subsequent guests.

Finally, we inevitably have to make a disclaimer. We promise to sanitize our guest accommodations to the best of our ability as described above, but we cannot accept liability should you become infected during or after your stay with us.

Getting Here.

Finding us can be "interesting".

Satellite navigation by postcode will guide you into a nearby small housing development called Torr an Eas (the centre of the postcode).

So, if you are coming from Fort William, don't make that last left turn into Torr an Eas, instead, stay on the main road for another 130m then exit left at the top of the hill, BEFORE you cross the railway bridge. On leaving the main road, take the LEFT gate (don't follow the more obvious track downhill).

Bothan Glas is hidden behind the rocky knoll ahead of you and we await your safe arrival.

Eating Here.

Depending on when you arrive you will likely be looking for an evening meal. There are two possibilities; the Princes House Hotel and the Glenfinnan House Hotel. Both serve meals in the bar and both also have a restaurant. Reservations are advisable / essential so let us know early and we'll get you sorted.

Location

Glenfinnan, Scotland, United Kingdom

Bothan Glas is just a short walk from all of Glenfinnan's top attractions, including the world famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, Bonnie Prince Charlie monument, the Pugin-designed St. Mary and St. Finnan Catholic church, and a number of beautiful hiking/walking trails offering spectacular views down Loch Shiel. For a more leisurely approach to Loch Shiel, try the wildlife cruise that runs from Slatach Pier.

Also nearby are the Prince's House Hotel and Glenfinnan House Hotel. The Prince's House Hotel offers evening bar meals and a separate restaurant (which must be booked in advance). The Glenfinnan House Hotel offers morning coffee, a bar menu from Noon 'til late and an award-winning restaurant. The cosy bar hosts live Celtic music on the last Thursday of the month.

Last but not least, we're just a stone's throw from Glenfinnan Railway Station, where you can watch the Jacobite Express (aka Hogwart's Express) passing through. You can also grab a tasty homemade lunch from the Dining Car at the Glenfinnan Station Museum.

I'm Pat, married to David and we have recently built our forever home here in "sunny" Glenfinnan. We are both nominally retired, but have never been busier. We have two adult daughters who have flown the nest, but are nonetheless delighted to have Glenfinnan as a potential holiday destination. We are both foodies and enjoy short trips to interesting places. I'm an avid reader and David is interested in cooking. We have both travelled extensively and experienced a wide variety of accommodation and from that have learned (often the hard way) what is needed to make your stay with us relaxed and enjoyable . We aim to provide the level of comfort and service that we would like to have experienced on our travels.
