We really enjoyed our stay in Susan's home. This was a three generation family reunion of 7 adults and three infants. The house was excellent for that purpose...walking distance to the beautiful village, fantastic fall foliage, great restaurants, wonderful weather. All in all it was a perfectly authentic rural New England weekend. We were all very pleased to have the opportunity to be her guests.
Susan and her husband Ed were very gracious hosts who welcomed us and fully explained the house and it's amenities. The house has fascinating artwork and glimpses into the history of it's owners. We loved the fully equipped kitchen and the access to the washing machine and dryer. The beds were comfortable, the linens were clean, and we really appreciated the walking access to the village and the beautiful Bridge of Flowers was in full bloom during our stay. We got good needed exercise on the stars both inside and outside the house! We all grew to love the whistle of the trains. It was perfect for our group.
Susan's home was wonderful and the perfect place for 12 old friends to reunite for a wedding weekend. The house was spacious and charming, the dining area was great for congregating for a breakfast of pies bought from a local pie sale or fresh croissants from town, and the three bathrooms meant we all had ample space and hot water for getting ready for the big event. Everyone who was new to the area was quite smitten with Shelburne Falls, and the town center is conveniently located a short walk down the hill. Susan (and her son Raphael) were wonderful hosts, and all of my communications with them were super pleasant! Highly recommend this house.
Susan was a most gracious host! Her house is lovely and unigue and we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. We all had plenty of space and privacy and the wonderful large open second floor was a perfect place to gather together. Not only that, but the proximity to the town of Shellburne Falls was an added treat!
Susan's "New England get-away" home is extremely beautiful and served my group perfectly. The house comfortably sleeps a large number of guests and also has access to a beautiful back yard. I would definitely recommend this location to any guest in the future!
I am a native New Yorker, writer, journalist and executive coach. My hobbies are belly-dancing and aromatherapy. Married to a Frenchman, I spent 22 years in Europe where we raised 2 great kids. I have brought my French flair for fragrance and fabric design into an old New England village house and the result is eclectic- simple, comfortable, warm. My older son is a professional percussionist, so we have lots of music, my younger son is into alternative energy so we try to keep it green, my husband is an art dealer so we have some lovely visuals. We love walking to the nearby yoga studio, biking, skiing, eating in the gourmet restaurant , all within ten minutes of the house. Between us we speak English, French, German, Spanish, Hebrew and Bengali.! We travel to Europe, India and Culebra
