Orvieto was a wonderful town and this airbnb was a fantastic choice for our stay. Owners came and found us when we got lost trying to drive up to the house (getting there by car can be tricky). They then took the time to personally show us where to park and places to eat in the town. Accommodations inside were updated and comfortable. We could not have asked for a better stay.
What a wonderful host family. Pierluigi and his wife met us at the train and introduced us to the home and hill town. The frig was stocked with our needed milk and juice. They made our introduction to the AirBnB experience wonderful and memorable. Orvieto has a lot to offer and it's all and easy walk from the apartment. The view IS spectacular and the home is nicely away from the busy, walking portions of the town. Pierluigi and his wife both speak excellent English and made the visit easy for me and my family. Recommended highly.
Piero and Ornella are very kind hosts--they picked us up and dropped us off at the train station and helped us formulate a plan for travel because of the general transportation strike that was going on during our visit. The apartment is decorated with Ornella's paintings, which are really unique and beautiful, an added bonus. There's an old cistern and well open to the apartment--a feature common in Orvieto but neat to have right where you're staying. The view from the house is stunning. Do be prepared that while it's on the edge of Orvieto, there are neighbors upstairs. So expect a normal amount of family noise during waking hours (it was quiet between midnight and 7am). In the picture, it looks a little more isolated than it is, but this turns out to be a good thing: you can walk everywhere from here, and don't need a car. Also, our hosts introduced us to a great walk around Orvieto and told us many things to do in the town. Go on a tour of the underground for certain and enjoy this place--it's the only place like this in the world!
All the best AirBnB has to offer; great host, unique location, and affordable. The casa is spacious, comfortable and well equipped for a longer stay. Grazie!
Piero and Ornella made us feel very welcome. The home was nicely appointed and cozy, and the area of Orvieto Casa San Giovenale is in is convenient to the Piazza and parking.
Piero and Ornella helped us find free parking, and drove us through the Piazza back to Casa San Giovenale, pointing out shops and landmarks so we could orient ourselves.
We loved Orvieto! So charming!
We absolutely loved our night at Piero's flat in Orvieto, it is a beautifully decorated place with stunning views over the valley and is handily situated being only a 5 min walk from town but also out of the way of the hordes. Piero was fantastic and went out of his way to welcome us, taking time out of his Sat afternoon to show us where to park and despite the fact we arrived half an hour late. Would definitely recommend!
