The place Silje offers is really great. Communication was great too, she was very understanding and welcoming. It’s also a great location to explore the city from. I can only recommend this place!
The rental apartment is a unique location, an older building reached inside the courtyard of a newer apartment building. The kitchen was very well equipped and a comfortable place to cook simple meals, especially as there is a small grocery store just around the corner. As other reviewers have noted there is a cafe (called I believe "O Paris") less than five minutes' walk away with a fantastic view over the city. I enjoyed the neighborhood (local-feeling, not touristic) but would recommend asking Silje for suggestions on restaurants, shopping, etc. The apartment was of a size that was easily comfortable for one person and I think would have been fine for a couple or even a small family. The building was quiet at night but early in the morning and during the day I would hear noise from other apartments (small children, TV, radio, etc). Silje was very friendly and easy to communicate with. The check-in/out process was very smooth.
Siljes flat was exactly as described -quiet, clean, and very comfortable. We spend there 2 very nice days.
I highly recommend staying with Silje her flat was nice, well kept, clean and a lot bigger than I thought. I was the only one staying in the apt. but it would comfortably accomodate a couple as well. It was great to stay amongst the locals as opposed to a hotel not only because of the cost but you really get a great feel for the French people. I had a great time and would stay with Silje again. Belleville is a very nice diverse neighborhood with great restaurants, the subway is close by and the Belleville Parc is literally across the street. I have nothing but praise for Silje I didn't really need her help because I have friends in France but when I did need some information or a cab to the airport booked she took care of it. It's little things like that, that make you not want to leave. Je'taime Paris!!!
Silje's apartment is just as described - everything provided, very clean, and the shutters open on to a courtyard of plants. Silje's neighbour Nicole welcomed me, & gave good advice about transport: bus 26 runs from Jourdain, just up the steps opposite the boulangerie. The metro from Jourdain is also nearby, up the steps, across from the church. There's a supermarket open late just a few doors down from the apartment, opposite the very pretty and peaceful Parc de Belleville. I very much enjoyed my stay in Paris at Silje's apartment.
Love love the place, very cozy and location is Great, condo is close to metro, bus, resto, grocery store, everything is great, bottom line we love the place and thank you for offering us to stay at your lovely condo, we will definitely stay there again if we comeback to Paris next time!!!
Perfect location in the real Paris, far away from the crowds of tourist. Silje was a very helpful hostess. (She put up a bed for our baby, even washed our clothes, when the washng machine broke down and called us a cab on the day we left.) The apartment is nice and very quiet in a charming old backyard. The place can get a little cold, but Silje has put up heaters in every room, that we just didnt use.
The neighborhood is wonderful. Very green with lots of great bars and restaurants.
Very charming apartment and very peasant neighborhood. The charm of old Paris, the quietness of an enclosed yard, very close to transportation (several metro stations nearby). One of the best views in Paris is 2 minutes away, and the neghborhood is alive with many restaurants and cafés,
appartement très sympa, propre et calme et bien situé par rapport au métro (5 minutes de marche) épicerie à proximité très pratique
Silje's place is in an area that's a perfect snapshot of real Paris: creative, cosmopolitan, lively and fun, close to transport, bakeries, restaurants, parks etc - and yet the flat is still incredibly quiet.
Silje herself was so kind and helpful: among other things, she even went to the trouble of getting a travel cot for our baby.
Just one word of advice: if you're coming in winter (and we came in the cold spring of 2013!) bring a pair of slippers or thick woolly socks as the floors are cold.
One other thing, this was our first experience of airbnb and I'd just like to say that it was a great success.
