Quiet spot near Harvard and MIT

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Norfolk St, Somerville, MA 02143, United States

The Space

Pristine modern studio apartment. Single bed. Fully equiped kitchen. Walk in shower. Hardwood floors. Programable heat. Linens, down pillows and comforter, and even hair dryer provided. Breakfast foods available.
Easy access to public transportation (Red Line and buses) . Restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues in easy walking distance. Public transportation available from airport, train station, and bus station. If you enlarge my guidebook, it will show bus and T stops. At the corner of Cambridge and Norfolk, the bus goes between Harvard Square and Leachmere. At Norfolk and Webster is a direct bus to Kendall (MIT). At Cambridge and Prospect are buses to Central Square. Very near Hubway bicycles (you borrow them and may return them at a different spot).
Walkable to Harvard Square and its amenities, but ask me about other just as interesting places in Boston, Cambridge, and their environs. Guide books and information from host, library card if you want it.
There are many more restaurants in the area than on my guidebook. I'd be glad to give recommendations. Nearly everyone has vegetarian options. All price ranges.
I can also let you know about supermarkets within walking distance, including those that carry organic foods.
And, of course, I'll try to answer any other questions you may have.
I have quite a bit of historical information in the apartment, and have given historical tours of the neighborhood, so we might be able to work that out as well, if you're interested.
Let's message for details before you book.

  • Krystyna's apartment is such a lovely place to stay! I stayed there for 3 nights after 10 intense days in busy New York and the apartment was all I could dream of: a nice, quiet and relaxing place all for myself. I was almost tempted to not go out and just sit and read a book all day in one of the many cosy spots this compact house offers, and I wish I could have stayed longer just for that!
But the apartment is also perfectly located just off Inman Square with nice restaurants and shops, as well as within a walking distance (or a 5-minute bus ride) to Central Square and Harvard Square.
Krystyna is also a great host and I wish I'd had more time for chats with her. She kindly waited for me as my arrival was delayed by a couple of hours, took the time to show me everything I needed to know in the house and around and left very useful books and maps of all things to see in Boston and Cambridge. She always made sure I had everything I needed while respecting my privacy.

  • This place is spot on. I work down the street on a contract and was very happy staying here. I slept the best there. Krystyna was great. We work in the same field and it was good to chat about our experiences. I will be staying here again and letting friends know she's a great host with a perfect place.

  • I stayed at Krystyna's place in Somerville for 3 nights. She is a great host and the studio apartment she rents is perfect for a solo or pair of travelers! Very quiet and comfortable with all kinds of kitchen stuff that I didn't use this time but might in the future if I stay there again. Location is near Inman Square, with lots of cool restaurants and bus routes right nearby (and Central Square red line not far either). I let Krystyna know my schedule and she was very flexible with meeting me for arrival and providing some tips about getting around. Great place and a great host!

  • Both an excellent host and excellent accomodation. All I could ask for. Plenty of space, excellent facilities and so easy to get around by bus as well as the nice walk to the red and green train stations

Look forward to visiting the city and staying again

  • Krystyna's Apartment is in a great location minutes walk from Inman Square and its selection of restaurants, coffee houses, a second hand book store and fancy vintage boutique. A perfect base for exploring Cambridge and Boston. Would return, and hope to.

  • This apartment is perfect for studying or relaxing. It is located at the back of an apartment complex, with access to a deck that faces a side street, so it truly is quiet. Everything was clean and comfortable and well-maintained. Krystyna was a very accommodating hostess--even though I was running late, she stayed to make sure I knew how everything worked and where to find whatever I needed. A block away from a main shopping street with tons of restaurants, and maybe 20 minutes from Harvard Square on foot. I'm looking forward to staying here again whenever I need to be in Cambridge.

  • I stayed at the "Quiet Place" 2 nights, a week apart, while going and returning from a trip to W. Mass. The apartment and Krystyna were both wonderful. The location is an easy walk from Central and Inman Squares and has every necessity nearby. The unit was immaculate and has all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Since it was not booked in between my stays, I was able to leave some items there during that time. As a major storm also was predicted, Krystyna even left me a pair of snow boots to borrow while I was gone! She was accessible and concerned but not at all intrusive. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone.

  • Krystyna was very helpful in answering questions and providing information related to check in and transportation. When I needed to extend my reservation, it was done with ease and patience. The space is cozy with a single bed, a nice collection of maps and history dvds related to Boston and is a nice retreat if you are looking for quiet and privacy. We enjoyed our stay!

  • I stayed at Krystyna's place for one night, it is well kept and had everything I could have wanted. She offered suggestions for the immediate area, as well as what to do were I to stay in Boston for a longer trip. Next time I'm planning a trip in the area, I plan on staying there again.

  • When I was driving up from New York, I was late, and arriving in Cambridge around 10 PM, but Krystyna managed to delay going to work to help me check in. The apartment was thoughtfully furnished, the kitchen and bathroom had all the little items that might come necessary,. All in all, It was in excellent condition and perfect for my needs.
