Great location, make sure washer/dryer, and wifi are in working order and check plumbing for sewer odor in bathroom. Communicate as many times as you with host regarding check in time as communication with him was a major problem.

Dante is in the perfect location: so close to the main attractions and within walking distance of the train station. As for the apartment, it is exactly as described. Communication with Roberto or his family was generally very good, although we had problems with the wifi cutting out which took a while to rectify. Roberto kindly set up a new modem system for us which improved the situation - be mindful that the wifi doesn't reach the bedrooms, though. Overall, though, we loved staying at Dante due to its prime location and spacious living area. Great for students, too!

Response from Roberto:

The apartment met our expectations. It was spacious, clean and had all the things we needed. Because of the hot weather, we were grateful for the air conditioning in every room. At our arrival, we were welcomed by Osvaldo, the manager and he explained everything we needed to know. The flat is in the middle of Firenze, close to all the sightseeing attractions. Unfortunately, we didn't know, that it is not allowed to drive into the old town, where the apartment is located. So we had to leave our car one night in a car park in order to avoid a fine.

This was a great apartment! It's just a block away from the Duomo and the Accademia, so convenient to restaurants and shops! We are a family of five (three teenagers), and this was a perfect arrangement. Two large bedrooms, two full baths, and a large living room/dining room area with ample seating for everyone. We didn't cook while in the apartment, so I can't say much about the kitchen, but it was well stocked with cooking supplies, and having a washer and dryer was such a great bonus! As the other reviewers have noted, it is four flights of stairs (101 steps) up from the ground level without an elevator, so if that's an issue, you may not want to stay here. It was unseasonably hot while we were there, and the air conditioning worked perfectly! It was such a relief to return to our nice, cool, comfortable apartment after a long day of sightseeing. Oswaldo Alberti met us at the apartment upon our arrival and gave us a thorough orientation to the apartment and some great tips about sightseeing. He mapped out where to find some great restaurants and the grocery, along with the best gelato place in town. This apartment was a great place for us, and the location is perfect!

Overall: Adequate, but . . . Perfect central location. Facility is as described and as pictured. Air conditioning worked well. Hot water was lacking and inconsistent, even for one or two quick showers. Kitchen was well equipped and (clothing) washing machine worked well. Could use some basic supplies, e.g., soap, napkins. DO NOT underestimate the lack of an elevator (lift). It is 101 steps up – I counted them! Property Manager attention could be better, but maybe this is how it goes for AirBnB, as this is my first time forgoing a hotel. Before booking, I confirmed that I could drop off my bags with the Property Manager’s office at a specific time. Upon arrival, there was no one responding so we were on the street with our bags for nearly an hour while making several calls. Once we made contact, the manager said the property was ready, but we could not check in because he was heading out to a two plus hour lunch. I get the local custom and I respect it, but at this point, given the inconvenience already suffered, I would have expected some accommodation and perhaps pushing his lunch back. Upon return to pick up our bags at the agreed upon time, there was another hour wait, followed by still another hour wait for him to arrive and complete the on-site check-in. At check-in, the internet wasn’t working (which I needed to confirm and reserve future aspects of our remaining trip). He committed to fix it the next morning without us being at the apartment, but there was no contact or response until mid-afternoon and he then requested that we meet him at the apartment to install a new router. This also was nearly a two hour wait past the agreed upon meeting time. All in, we wasted way more prime vacation time than I feel we should have. He was, however, timely in our bag drop off on the check-out day.
