Evy and Evy's family are warm and helpful. It has been an unforgettably trip in my life. The only thing I feel pity is not much time to stay with Evy because of the work. If I visit Jakarta next time, Evy's house is my first choice.
Very nice & friendly Evy,
Very convenient location & take care of customer & share a lot of information to me! Sure will come back.
Evy's guesthouse is located in the heart of Jakarta: it's a world apart from downtown skyscrapers, it's like a village with narrow alleys and traditional homes. You won't find a lot of western people (bule') here but only friendly locals. Evy, her son and her staff are simply amazing. I felt i was visiting some old friends or relatives i haven't seen for a while. They really want to make sure you are having a great time. The room has everything you need: it's clean, with a/c, tv, refrigerator, big closet: bathroom needs some improvement but it was fine for me. Jakarta is not an easy city to live in: huge, a lot of traffic, pollution but If you ever come here, just open your mind and your heart, and you might see the beauty of it.
Evy is a great person, together with her daughter and her husband. Very welcoming and professional. Highly recommended. The neighborhood will give you a high level experience
Evy and her family are the greatest! She and her son offered to pick me up from the previous place I was staying, showed me around the area, took me to work for my first day, and helped me get my Indonesian phone set up. The house is near the Central Business District in a very traditional village and is perfect whether you are staying short or long term. All the rooms are very nice individual bedrooms with private bathrooms and there are other international visitors as well.
I highly recommend it!
One star is deducted as car cannot reach the alley.
You can witness the downtown Jakarta life though,
Evy and family - Thank you so much for everything!
This is such a recommendable place if you want to dive into authentic Jakarta life. You are in between the world of original busy street life in a authentic neighbourhood, where everybody is nice and curious about the guests - especially if you are not Asian and the downtown skyscrapers.
Evy and her husband picked us up directly at the Jakarta Airport. The other offered service was just perfect too - guess, you can get quite everything you would like to have. We got original Indonesian breakfast, our clothes washed within just one day and a whole-day guided customised city tour by Evie's son Billy. We have even been to the Jakarta beach! The guest house got a couple of rooms mainly rented to people from all over the world, who are in Jakarta for a longer time. This is a good possibility to get to know different people and hear their hints concerning the city. Although we have only been staying for two nights, we felt like we know this nice family much longer! So, all in all: "Thumbs up" for that place!
Dear Susanne and Andreas - Thank you so much for your review about us. I really appreciate it.
Both of you are also a very nice and very friendly, I felt like I know you for ages. Unfortunately that you only stayed for 2 nights. Hope one day we can meet again.
Enjoy your holiday . . .
