About this listing
This cave house, hanging on the cliffs of the caldera, is part of a traditional synthesis of houses owned by a family of architects.
The complex used to be the old bakery of Oia and it was recently restored with respect to the unique local architecture. The marble floors, the built in beds and the antique furniture together with modern amenities strike the right balance between sophistication and coziness.
Out on the wide terrace literally on the rim of the caldera, the sensational view of the volcano will leave you breathless. The deep blue of the sea landscape and the picturesque
domed houses carved in the volcanic earth create a calm and magic atmosphere filling you with emotions you have never felt before.
Our houses are located just a few steps from the heart of the village of Oia. All traditional tavernas and high quality restaurants, cafes, shops and the world famous Oia sunset are at a walking distance. The complex is very close to the parking area, taxis and public transportation.
Originally renovated for personal use, the houses combine traditional style with comfort. The built in king size bed (180 x 200 cm) with high quality latex mattress and the fully equipped kitchen with a small oven, ceramic hot plates, small refrigerator, coffee machine, electric kettle, toaster and cutlery will make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
We will meet upon your arrival in Oia and I will be at your disposal for anything you may need during your stay. I will be glad to share with you info about Santorini and everything that is worth doing here.

Laskarina was the perfect host providing valuable information for our stay in Santorini. The Cave was perfect and the description is completely accurate; views surpassing our dreams and facilities which meant that we had everything that we needed in our accommodation.
My husband and I visited Santorini for 3 days while on our honeymoon and had the most perfect stay in Laskarina's beautiful cave house. Situated in one of the most beautiful pockets of the Oia caldera, it was like waking up in a post card every day. The cave house itself was lovely -- true to the pictures, very well maintained and an unbeatable patio for enjoying the view and the weather.
Laskarina and her husband John both made themselves available to stay connected with us during our stay (even providing us a cell phone with their numbers programmed) and ensured we were setup to make the most out of our time in Santorini. They arranged airport/ferry transfers in advance for us (this is a must as I was told there are only 39 taxis in all of Santorini!), as well as porters to meet us upon arrival to carry our bags down the many steps to the cave house -- which would have been a difficult task on our own but typical for the traditional cave house style accommodations in the area. A nice touch was a bottle of local white wine and fresh fruit left for us to enjoy. They also had their cleaning lady come in quickly on our second day for fresh towels and garbage removal.
Laskarina provided a map of the island and sent an email "guide" with her suggestions. She recommended and arranged a sunset sailing excursion which was incredible, as well as some restaurants and local sites which we enjoyed visiting. We loved Floga for breakfast, which is literally just up the steps from the cave house. There are many other fine restaurants right at the very top of the steps, within a 2-10 minute walk. It can be about a 20-minute walk to the prime views of the sunset, considering the high foot traffic along the route. Renting a car is very easy (lots of options nearby) and recommended to get around anywhere outside of Oia; however, if you stay here I'd highly recommended setting aside time to relax with a bottle of wine and enjoy it!
With the free Wifi in the cave house, it was convenient to use the AirBnB app to communicate with Laskarina. She was very responsive.
The Parathria Cave House 1 was amazing!! The Cave itself was very spacious and comfortable. The pictures were accurate. The view was PHENOMENAL!!! truly breathtaking and there was a large patio for the cave that is shared with the cave nextdoor - my boyfriend and I were worried about the shared patio space but it's so large you don't even notice the neighbors - still very private. Everything was provided - towels, shampoo, soap, etc. Laskarina was extremely helpful arranging our transfer to and from the airport. She also provided us with an extensive list of things to do and places to eat while we were in Santorini which was extremely helpful!! My boyfriend and I had a very relaxing stay in the (website hidden) top it of Laskarina provided us with a bottle of wine and fruit upon our arrival. It was a great stay and I would definitely recommend it!
Our stay at Parathira cave house 1 was a delightful way to start our two weeks on Santorini. The views were unbeatable and waking up to them everyday was fabulous. It was clean and inviting with a complimentary bottle of wine, a bottle of water, and a basket of fruit. Anna kept the patio and the rental neat and tidy. The location in Oia was great. Close to shopping and restaurants. We would highly recommend it.
I couldn't imagine a better place to stay in Santorini. The cave house 1 is absolutely perfect and the view is stunning. The location is great, the terrace is phenomenal. The apartment is very comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen is small, but well equipped. Laskarina was wonderful about arranging pick-ups, giving great restaurant recommendations and making sure that we were having a good time. I highly recommend this place.
Having never been to Oia, was not sure how central the location was: it could not have been better. Pretty much right in the middle of the best part of town. We loved Skala and Thalami for dinner, both a stones throw from the room. Plenty of bakeries too: we'd frequently get things for take-out and eat on the amazing porch.. as others have noted, the view has to be seen to be believed. Yes no sunset view, but we didn't like to be near the bigger crowds anyway. Laskarina and husband were great: they even provided a phone with local sim card to contact them. Cave wi-fi worked great and was super handy.
