This whitewashed cave house, hanging on the cliffs of the caldera, is part of a traditional synthesis of houses owned by a family of architects. The complex used to be the old bakery of Oia and it was recently restored with respect to the unique local architecture. The marble floors, the built in beds and the antique furniture together with modern amenities strike the right balance between sophistication and coziness.
Out on the wide terrace literally on the rim of the caldera, the sensational view of the volcano will leave you breathless. The deep blue of the sea landscape and the picturesque
domed houses carved in the volcanic earth create a calm and magic atmosphere filling you with emotions you have never felt before.
Our houses are located just a few steps from the heart of the village of Oia. All traditional tavernas and high quality restaurants, cafes, shops and the world famous Oia sunset are at a walking distance. The complex is very close to the parking area, taxis and public transportation.
Originally renovated for personal use, the houses combine traditional style with comfort. The built in king size bed (180 x 200 cm) with high quality latex mattress and the fully equipped kitchen with a small oven, ceramic hot plates, small refrigerator, coffee machine, electric kettle, toaster and cutlery will make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
We will meet upon your arrival in Oia and I will be at your disposal for anything you may need during your stay. I will be glad to share with you info about Santorini and everything that is worth doing here.

We spent three days of our honeymoon in cave house and the stay was very comfortable. The cave house is very clean and the view of the caldera from the terrace is breath taking. John and Laskarina were very warm hosts and they did all that they can to make our stay amazing. We were pleasantly surprised on the second day when we returned after having a day out and we saw that the housekeeping had been done and the apartment was as good as new again. Laundry service was also provided. And all this for no extra charges. John provided us with all the local information regarding the car rentals, beaches, places to visit and restaurant to eat. Moreover, they provided us with a local mobile phone with their pre feeded numbers so that we can contact them anytime and for any purpose. We strongly recommend cave house and would love to come back again. The hosts were just fantastic. Thank you guys for everything.
Our stay was wonderful!! The location was perfect & close to everything in Oia. The cave house was very clean & exactly what I expected. The view is to die for!! :)
We spent our honeymoon in the Cave House and it was perfect on many levels. The actual house was clean, comfortable and comes with a rich history (ask about it). The cleaning lady came a couple of times during our week-long stay and we had access to the laundry whenever we needed it. The location was smack dab in the middle of all the key restaurants with a beautiful view at the doorstep. Laskarina and John were great hosts that were always available when we needed it and organized our transportation to and from the airport (which is great when you've been up for 24 hours). Definitely recommend!
Fabulous place and decorated with taste and style, Laskarina is an interior decorator and is is a true pleasure to stay in her place. We will come back soon!
Absolutely loved staying here and would highly recommend. Great location, fantastic caldera view, comfortable room, with many unexpected amenities, such as coffee, tea, welcome bottle of wine, fruit basket, and Korres-brand toiletries. A bit hard to find, but that's Santorini for you (no street addresses!).
The hosts went out of their way to answer questions and help with anything (laundry, boat trip recommendations, carrying luggage up/down stairs, where to park car, etc).
Beautiful apartment, modern styled, fantastic view, quiet (although it is in the middle of Oía), clean, very friendly and helpful hosts...
We had a perfect holiday. Thank you :-)
Laskarins's beautiful Cave House was an absolute dream, the pics don't do it justice. We had a wonderful week long stay here, it was one of the loveliest holidays we've had. The house had everything we needed, the view is astonishing, the whirlpool was refreshing after a long day lounging in the sun and you really are in the heart of Oia - anything you need is just a short walk away. The house was very clean and Laskarina and John were very pleasant and accommodating. Would recommend this to anyone!
We stayed with Laskarina, John and baby Chloe for part of our honeymoon and it literally could not have been better.
The one bedroom cave house was perfect: perfect location, perfect decor, perfect view....it was just magical to wake up to the caldera in the morning and have it all to yourself at night when the cruise ships left. The house was cozy, private and beautiful. I honestly don't know what could have made this property better.
Our hosts were icing on the cake. Laskarina was so amazingly welcoming and helpful. She answered all of our questions, made reservations for us and even managed to score us some free (delicious) souvlaki delivery after a particularly grueling hike to Thira and back! Her thoughtfulness was endless. There are free laundry facilities with detergents. Laskarina provided us a cell phone with credit in case you ever need to contact her. She made reservations for us at excellent restaurants and provided dozens more amazing recommendations for food and activities. Her husband, John, walked us to the car rental agency and we got an automatic car for 6 days for half the price that we paid to rent a car in Crete for 2 days! I cannot say enough about how wonderful everything was.
If you are considering staying here, DO IT!!! You won't regret it.
From start to finish, our five night stay at Laskarina's Cave House was nothing short of exceptional. Laskarina and her husband are wonderful hosts. She booked taxis for us to/from the airport, had someone assist with our luggage, and stocked the Cave House with all the essentials (wine, bottled water, fruit, hairdryer, towels, and toiletries). Laskarina provided a list of recommendations (restaurants, things to do, etc) and even went out of her way to teach my husband and I about Easter traditions as our stay was over the Greek Easter holiday. The Cave House was clean, the bed was comfy, and the views of the caldera were extraordinary. Book with Laskarina and you are sure to have an amazing holiday in Santorini.
We booked 3 nights in Laskarina's house but were unfortunately unable to make it to the island due to bad weather (low NE winds). It was such a shame because we were really looking forward to seeing the beautiful island of Santorini. The ferry was cancelled for the first 2 nights, and instead of going to the island for the third night, we went back to Athens in fear that we might miss our flight out of Greece (and luckily we did as it was cancelled again the following day!). It would have been nice if Laskarina was gracious enough and had offered us a discount or partial refund, but unfortunately this was not the case and we had to pay for the entire 3 nights. We were lucky we had booked the accommodation in winter as the prices were half the price of Summer prices ($230 per night), phew! I would be wary when booking the Cave house as Laskarina has chosen a strict cancellation policy (as opposed to a flexible policy where a partial/full refund is provided upon not showing up) and I would be worried considering the apparent high frequency of ferry cancellations. Even though the house seems like such a lovely place, I would be extremely apprehensive to book accommodation on Santorini with someone that did not take these circumstances into consideration, and provide a flexible/moderate policy. Needless to say, I probably won't be booking with Laskarina again. Perhaps I should have paid more attention to 3rd review below this one and made a more conscious decision as to which place to book on the island of Santorini.
