About this listing
650+ sqft New York City bright alcove studio, partial water views of Hudson River. Luxury doorman building features outdoor pool & bbq area, steps from promenade, a few blocks from World Trade Center & many other sites. All subway lines nearby.
This is a very large space by NYC standards. The building has beautiful grounds, including picnic tables, outdoor pool, landscaping and bbq. It sits on the promenade with views of the Hudson River, and is steps away from Ground Zero, many monuments, and the marina with great restaurants. All subways convenient.
My guest has access to all of the common areas including the bbq and picnic tables and laundry room. There is a gym and outdoor pool, both with day rates. Please let me know in advance of your stay if you would like to utilize the gym and/or pool.
Interaction with Guests
If you are renting the entire apartment, I'll be there when you check in, and am always available to answer any questions. If you are sharing the apartment with me, I will likely be present during your stay, and am fairly busy during the day and most evenings, but am sociable and love to provide tips on everything NYC has to offer.
Battery Park City and the Financial District, right next door, have the most memorials of anywhere in NYC. The promenade is beautiful, with great restaurants and a pretty marina. All subways are convenient, and there is a free bus that will take you throughout the neighborhood.
All subways accessible and there is a free neighborhood shuttle that stops right in front of the building. There is a parking lot with market rates attached to the building. From the airport, the building is accessible by subway, shuttle or taxi.
Other Things to Note
This is an alcove studio to rent entirely or to share, available for two guests if alone, and one guest if shared with me. It is a large L shaped apartment with the bed on one end and the dining area on the other. The living area is in the middle. The sleeping area is not visible from the dining room, where you will sleep on the air mattress, which is put away for the rest of the day.
Please be respectful. No smoking inside. If you smoke please feel free to use the common area outside. Check in/out times flexible. I'm sorry but I do not accept packages or mail on your behalf. There is a post office nearby though. Just let me know if you need details. Please let me know in advance of your stay if you'd like to utilize the gym and/or pool.
The hostess was responsive to emails, met me on time when I picked up the key, and was understanding about my mistaken belief that I had asked for a reservation for two instead of a single. This was our first AirBNB experience so I appreciated her detailed list of house rules. The apartment was quiet and the bed comfortable. We loved the location near the river and felt safe.
This was my second visit with Kim. As before, the condo was clean and inviting. Everything met my expectations. I would recommend Kim to anyone staying for a few days in Battery Park.
A fine place to stay in Manhattan. A short walk to the subway Red Line. Kim was great and communicative, and the apartment is clean and cozy with a view of the river. Would certainly stay here again!
NOT WORTH THE PRICE IF YOU BOOK THE ENTIRE PLACE
I stayed 4 days at Kim's and was not happy.
- I paid for the entire place and she still asked to come into the place every single day, when we were out. One day she left a pair of shoes in the middle of the room, another time I found a dirty coffee cup left on the kitchen counter, and once when we came back she was getting out of the shower. She also moved some of our things (like toiletries). Every time we would come back to the apartment we were wondering if she would be there.
- the bathroom was not clean enough. One of the reviews from June mentioned a dirty bath mat and stained towels which had supposedly been changed. The dirty bath mat and stained towels were still there.
- kitchen wasn't clean either, there was a layer of dust on all kitchen utensils and pots/ pans/ oven were dirty.
Otherwise the location is great and the building too.
Really great! Nice environment! Kim was really nice and accommodating. I couldn't ask for anything else.
My wife and I really enjoyed the time at Kim's apartment. Everything was clean and the place was very comfortable. Thanks Kim.
Pros: The location was perfect for working at my downtown office. The building group is nice and safe and there is a pool. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning was great. Kim was very nice and was willing to wait for us an extra hour (our flight was delayed) to give us the key, which was very appreciated.
Cons: The towels smelled badly of mildew and generally speaking the bathroom (bath mat, shower curtain) was moldy/dirty. The towels were also quite stained.
I probably wouldn't stay again because of the cons, bathroom cleanliness is just a really big one for me.
Allison, Many thanks for your feedback. I have replaced the towels and shower curtain as well as the bath mat. That issue should be totally resolved. I wish you had provided this feedback during your stay and I would have fixed it immediately. The photos of my apartment were taken by airbnb, and I've received consistent reviews from guests during the last year that they are very realistic. There is an entire wall of windows with unobstructed views and sunlight, and I put the actual square footage of my apartment in the description.
