Koos met us at his wonderful houseboat to show us around and explain how everything worked. He stocked the fridge with essentials and also gave us some delicious bread and sweets which was really great and made us feel super welcome! The boat was exactly as described and pictured and was exactly what we needed for a relaxing and cozy home base for our vacation. We spent many hours with our feet on the window sill waving at all the boats passing by on the canal while sipping a beer. Which was exactly what we wanted! The neighborhood could not have been any better; quiet, picturesque streets with little cafe's and restaurants everywhere. This was seriously the PERFECT neighborhood for us. You are close to everything Amsterdam has to offer but not in the middle of the madness. It was so nice to return to after a long day of being a tourist, it really felt like we were coming home each day. If you are looking for a houseboat in Amsterdam, this is the perfect one. We hope to come back soon!
My husband and I stayed with Koos and Sandra two years ago when we passed through Amsterdam, and we absolutely loved it. There was no question that we would stay at the houseboat again this time. Everything was just as we remembered: good location, no-nonsense communication, and excellent amenities. We definitely know where we'll be staying the next time we pass through Amsterdam.
Koos and Sandra are gracious, welcoming, and informative hosts. We really appreciated their thoughtful gestures to make us feel at home, such as the packet of information they sent us online before our visit and the frig stocked with delicious breakfast foods (much appreciated after an all-night flight). The houseboat is comfortable, bright, and well-equipped. We loved its Jordaan location; it's both close to the trams and in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood. And if you feel like relaxing at home, Amsterdam comes to you! Water craft of all sorts float by your windows, while pedestrians and cyclists cross a nearby bridge. It's unbelievably picturesque. Our stay on the houseboat was one of the best vacations we've ever had.
We had a glorious 5 days! The info package sent by Koos and Sandra was excellent and Koos welcomed us warmly at the door. Good coffee and food basics were very generously supplied. The canal boat is more a very comfy, stylish home than boat - it was absolutely perfect.
The houseboat is a dream. Located at what we considered the best area of the city, and in the most beautiful canal in that area. The house has everything one might need for a short stay, and Koos was extremely attentive - he left us some breakfast, coffee, tea, etc. Absolutely recommended.
We had an amazing four days in Amsterdam on Koos and Sandra´s houseboat. The welcoming was very warm and Koos made sure we knew everything we needed to know.
Everything was very clean and Koos even provided us with some breakfast and drinks.
We felt instantly at home and we would definitely come back. It was a very special experience.
My husband and I stayed on Koos and Sandra's houseboat for 5 days in July. It was such a fun, comfortable, and unique experience! The house is just as it appears in the pictures. It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and is very clean. The kitchen is really nice for being on a boat and is well stocked. Koos and Sandra left some things for breakfast for us so that we didn't have to go out. They also met us at the houseboat when we first arrived and explained how everything worked and what was around the area. The location is great. You can walk everywhere in central Amsterdam. It is located in a neighborhood with lots of great restaurants, cafes, and bars. My favorite thing about staying on the houseboat was sitting with the windows wide open to the canal and watching all the boats go by. There was typically a lot of boat traffic in the afternoon/evening hours, but it was very calm and quiet at night. There was a heat wave during the time that we stayed there, and it was very hot in Amsterdam. We were able to open up all the windows and get a nice cross breeze, and the house cooled down pretty quickly. If you want a unique, comfortable and private place to stay in Amsterdam, I definitely recommend Koos and Sandra's place.
