Situated on one of Amsterdam’s most beautiful canals, the Brouwersgracht, this light and bright one-bedroom houseboat offers you a comfortable and trendy stay in the heart of the City.
Living on the water is a special experience. It gives a surprising sense of freedom. The location is on the most beautiful canal of Amsterdam. In the center. But even though it is one of the quietest areas of Amsterdam.
The entire houseboat is at your disposal during your stay.
From Schiphol Airport, the fastest and cheapest way to the city is by train. (Amsterdam Central Station) If possible, we will pick you up from Central Station and take you to the boat. There we hand over the keys and tell you what is important for your stay.
So much to see (markets, museums, theatres), so many things to tell (directions, our favorite bars and restaurants),… we will make sure you are well-informed and welcome, and wish you a happy stay.
The houseboat is located in the center.
Most museums, markets, etc. are within walking Distance.
Central Station with all bus and tram connections is ± 15 min walk
Though small, the bedroom has a double bed (not to hard or soft) with enough pillows, a roomy closet and extra storage space underneath the bed. There is a shower-room with wash-basin and a hairdryer. The bedding is changed after every stay, or once a week. Clean towels and face clothes can be taken from the bedroom closet when needed. Fresh dishcloths and tea-towels are stored in the kitchen unit.
Koos and Sandra are an incredibly nice and lovely couple. They were a pleasure to deal with for our booking, especially given that we had a special request which they accommodated. Before we arrived, they provided plenty of helpful information about the neighborhood, places to eat, etc. When we arrived, they picked us up at the train station to drive us to the boat. And the boat is simply awesome. It's conveniently located near the central train station in one of the coolest neighborhoods in Amsterdam: the Jordaan. It's tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. There's plenty of hot water. The dining area and living room were spacious and comfortable. We loved staying right on the water, with swan coming right up to our windows. And yes, the boat is very romantic. In fact, it was our honeymoon and we couldn't be more pleased. We would definitely stay here again...and plan to.
It could not have been more perfect. The location was great and the boathouse was very clean. Koos picked us up from the train station and dropped us off as well. He was very communicative and flexible about what time we arrived and left. Everything we needed to enjoy our stay was provided, including breakfast food, and we had an amazing time in Amsterdam.
My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time on the houseboat.
Can't recommend staying on the boat enough!
It even made us change our plans of eating out in the evening, due to its lovely scenic location and comfortable setting.
Sandra & Koos took great care in looking after us, and made our stay extra special.
All I can say is we had the most WONDERFUL time on Koos and Sandra's delightfully idyllic, fabulously comfortable and romantic houseboat! After 5 days we really didn't want to leave :0(.
Having both stayed in Amsterdam on numerous occasions, spanning 24 years, this was our first time back in our favourite European city as a couple. We really wanted it to be special. We searched Airbnb, found lots of interesting options but have to admit Koos and Sandra's houseboat really stood out as something unique and that my lifelong dream/fantasy of residing on water could actually become reality! We were not disappointed!
Sandra very kindly met us at Central Station and drove us to our destination. We were shown around the boat, she had also stocked the fridge with lots of delicious cheeses and breakfasty foods which is just one of the many lovely touches that makes this accomodation stand out from the rest.
Amsterdam is a wonderfully vibrant city, on Sandra's recommendation we visited the local Noordmarkt on Saturday morning, and we highly recommend for antiques and tasty local food. We also ate dinner at Donna Sofia, a small, local authentic Italian restaurant, DO IT! And Daalder, which is possibly one of the finest meals I have ever had, it is a little pricey but very exclusive and you wont be disappointed :)
Thankyou Koos and Sandra for your exceptional kindness and hospitality, we hope to return to Amsterdam together in the future and HOPE to find you again!
We had a fabulous stay on Koos and Sandra's houseboat! The house itself was beautiful, neat, and met all our needs. Plus the location is fabulous -- quiet, yet right in the heart of things and walking distance to everything. Koos and Sandra were incredibly hospitable and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended!
Koos and Sandra have a wonderful sense of hospitality. I was picked up at the station and then introduced to their beautiful house boat for my stay. Small details make everything, flowers, food in the fridge…they were very kind and easy to contact if I had any questions.
The house boat is located in one of the most typical and charming areas of Amsterdam, close to the main station. A real treat.
Koos & Sandra were lovely hosts, they picked us up from the station, explained everything clearly on the boat, left a loaded fridge for us and took us back to the station when we left. Having stayed in January i was a bit concerned how warm it would be and i needn't have worried at all. The boat was warm, spacious and extremely comfortable. The area was lovely and quiet but just a 10 minute walk to the hustle and bustle. I would highly recommend this lovely experience and would definitely do it again. Many thanks Koos & Sandra
We loved our time on Koos and Sandra's houseboat. The location really cannot be beat, as you get to be central, but in a little part of town that just feels relaxed and genuine. All of my friends in Amsterdam mentioned that the Brouwersgracht was one of the nicest canals in Amsterdam, and it really felt that way.
There was a perfect amount of space to feel at home on the boat, and Koos and Sandra really had a key eye for the design and layout of the place. Without being too much, it just all works, and feels comfortable and special.
We enjoyed being just two blocks away from Haarlemmerdijk, one of the coolest streets in Amsterdam, while also enjoying the peaceful feeling of our quite canal area.
To add to this, Koos and Sandra couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. They made sure they was breakfast for us for our first morning, they gave us a walk around tour of all the specifics to know about their place, and they picked us up and dropped us off at the train station.
One of our most pleasant airbnb experiences, easily.
Koos & Sandra were wonderful hosts.
Koos picked us up from the train station. We ended up departing quite early when we left and the walk was only about 15 – 20 mins.
The houseboat was such a great experience and had everything you could need. It was also well stocked for a lovely breakfast which was a great start to the day. It is in a quiet location but still walking distance to everything.
Contact with the hosts prior and during our stay was always easy.
We will definitely be back!
Our Romantic Houseboat experience was great! Koos is very personable and helpful. He picked us up up at the train station and delivered us to this little gem. He left a local phone and was also easily reachable via test if we had a question. There were also provisions for breakfast and fresh flowers which were a nice touch. It was very clean.
The houseboat is exactly as is pictured on the site. My husband is 6'5" tall and well over 300 pounds, and he had no problems. Shower was great and did not require any shapeshifting to get into. The canal is very quiet and yet close to lots of activity. We went to many outdoor markets, bars, restaurants, shops, and museums on foot. We also took a day trip to Haarlam to the Jopen brewery.
We are from Montana, but were in Europe (Belgium and Germany) on a beer tour (husband is a brewer) and it was fitting to stay on the Brewers Canal in Amsterdam. It really is a beautiful and quiet canal. After 14 days of hotel rooms, it was WONDERFUL to have such a complete and private space all to ourselves. The views from the boat are great, and we were awakened each morning by swans who were demanding to be fed pieces of bread from the bedroom window. Occasional kayakers or small boats were also interesting to watch go by. After four days, we were beginning to recognize certain people walking across the little bridge over the canal. It made us feel like Amsterdamers. Groceries and places to eat are just a block away as is a laundry service (which we needed because the washer was not working). We would recommend this houseboat to anyone who is looking for a unique, quiet, and grown up experience in Amsterdam. Thanks Koos and Sandra.
