I had a wonderful week-long stay in Mireille and Patricks apartment while I attended the musical festival. The apartment is beautiful and comfortable, has everything that I needed including a piano, and is very central. Mireille and Patrick met me on arrival and showed me all essentials to do with the apartment, and they also have useful information about local restaurants and attractions. They kept in touch thereafter by email to make sure everything was OK (which it was). I would definitely return if I was in Aix en Provence again.
Merci!
We have visited Aix on several occasions in the past and stayed in hotels ( The Cezanne, Le Pigonnet) each time, this is the first time in an apartment and everything was 100% perfect for us.
The space is comfy with character with large airy windows looking over one of the main thoroughfares of old town. It can get noisy in the day because of tour groups coming past but the bedroom in the back is isolated enough that no noise seeps through and great for restful sleep or naps. The location cannot be more perfect for it is really in the center of action, easy to walk to anywhere in town, max 15 minutes for most places for us, which is simply wonderful.
The wifi is superfast, the shower is strong and the bed very comfortable: everything we needed was there and the Monoprix market was close by (2 locations) for stocking up food or drinks although we mostly ate out since there are so many wonderful dining options nearby.
This really felt like home away from home for us, and we look forward to a stay with Mireille and Patrick again next time we visit.
The hosts Mireille and Patrick are super nice and really responsive and both were there to greet us upon our arrival (thank you !). They kept in touch until we arrived also gave us useful local tips as well as let us use their parking space when we needed it during out stay.
I would add only one detail in case you have loads of luggage or too frail to carry them for any distance : the apt is located in the now car-free old town of Aix and a taxi cannot pull up to the address, so you will need to walk ( 5 - 10 min) with your luggage to reach the location.
What a wonderful visit in Aix. Our gracious hosts Mireille and Patrick greeted us warmly as we arrived and Patrick cheerfully lugged both of our huge 45 lbs. bags up to the 1st floor flat. It was all and more than we expected. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with considerable light and air. The kitchen is so well outfitted, we lacked nothing! After almost a year of bouncing around Europe, staying in AirBNB flats, Mireille's flat exceeded out expectations. There are several bakeries, several fresh food markets (open air) and a multitude of restaurants all within easy walking distance. And, of course, Aix-en-Provence is a marvelous village/city. We shall return!! Thanks so much Mireille & Patrick
We loved this apartment. It is very cozy , with old world charm, but with modern appliances. The location could not be any better completely downtown and one block from Mirabeau and Monaprix and the market.
We found the bed very comfortable and the bedroom very quiet, which doesn't happen a lot when you are downtown.
Our host, Mireille, received us warmly, and provided us with a parking card for 10 Euro a day, and also suggested some restaurants.
We recommend Cafe de Verdon for simple but delicious food.
Aix was a charming city.
Thanks a lot Mireille for a lovely stay at your apartment. Right in the centre of this charming town, you will feel like home. There was really nothing missing and I would recommend this place especially for couples. I think less suitable for small children.

We are a couple in our early sixties and highly recommend this charming apartment of Mireille and Patrick, in Aix-en Provence, the city of many fountains. In July 2014, we had the pleasure of living there for ten memorable days. We arrived in town before check-in time and Mireille gave us a very warm welcome and kindly allowed us to leave our bags there while she and her daughter cleaned. After lunch, we returned to a spotlessly clean apartment and were given a comprehensive briefing on everything we needed to know about the apartment, a pile of tourist information and a bottle of local wine.
This is a very spacious apartment that balances the charm of a very old building with modern conveniences such as a very well equipped kitchen and laundry. The many cook books give a hint that the owners appreciate fine food and wine and the nearby markets supply a huge range of fresh produce to indulge this passion.
Another insight to the owners' hearts and souls is the many other books (in French) and a few in English to be found lining the shelves throughout the apartment. The decor is French Provencal and exudes understated elegance while being totally practical, comfortable and inviting.
We appreciated the collection of vintage lanterns, the piano, the beautiful pottery pieces and other objets d'art. The music festival was in progress during our summer visit, so there were many tourists enjoying the sights of the historic centre of town and many performers providing music in the street. We loved being able to have the huge French windows open above the street and simply witness the enjoyment of life below.
Because the traffic is predominately pedestrian, we did not find the noises or the music annoying. Occasionally, a motor bike revved through the street and broke the magical spell of the moment. The very spacious bedroom is away from the street and provides a delightful and unusual retreat. I felt as though I was looking out onto a garden from the 'rain' shower in the bathroom, but it is totally private.
The bed was comfortable and the shower provided hot water, but this home provides much more than those hotel basics, it provides a very comfortable and relaxing place of beauty right in the heart of this historic town. It is a short walk to any of the many markets and places of interest as well as the Office of Tourism where you can access day excursions to other areas of Provence, such as wineries, the lavender fields, Monaco and the Riviera, Arles, Avignon etc., etc.
If you are looking for something very special, book this apartment for your next holiday!
