amazing! Loved the surroundings, loved the location. Was a bit touristy for me but the place was out of this world. Tucked away behind a humble looking restaurant you walk into this Balinese Eden. I got a bungalow that was bloody huge, so much room for activities. The staff were helpful and even arranged a pickup from the airport which was very well priced and ubud is a little bit of a drive from the airport. The breaksmfats were filling and tasty. I loved staying here and would definitely again.
Here are some pros and cons from our 4 night stay. Pros: Good location, very central; Beautiful well kept grounds; Wayan was always available when needed and even organized transportation for us; Budget friendly. Cons: Room smelt like mothballs; bathroom needs to be updated; no towel or sheet changes during the entire stay.
Very bad experience overall. We booked for 3 nights convinced by the central location and appealing photos. First of all, ‘host’ Darma is not actually the host. We did establish all the details with him, including late pickup from the airport and hiring a driver for 2 days, but we never met, nor talked to him.
We landed at 21:30, were picked up by the driver and arrived at Wahyu around 23:30. Unfortunately, all lights were shut and there was no one there to expect us. We had to shout almost half an hour to find someone. Darma never answered on the phone number posted on AirBnB. In the end, a grumpy, half-naked guy called Wayan welcomed us and showed us to the bungalow.
The room was in a very poor condition, with mold stains everywhere, a dirty bathroom with a small plant grown inside it!!! The sheets were smelly, filled with dust. The bed lacked the mosquito net. Also, we didn’t receive the AC remote because Wayan told us we didn’t pay for it (no AC special fare on AirBnB). The worst part was that there were rats in the ceiling, which were making a really disturbing noise overnight.
After all this, we asked to talk to Darma to change this miserable accommodation. We never were able to talk directly to him, so in fact our driver sorted out everything.
Pros: Great location within walking distance to all downtown tourist locations, beautiful jungle like environment, clean, spacious rooms.
Cons: No wifi in rooms, wifi in restaurant slow and unreliable, staff wanted us to leave 30 minutes before checkout, was a little pushy.
My friend and I really enjoyed our stay with Wahyu. First I can say that he would have helped us a lot with regards to booking different activities in Kuta. Unfortunatly we booked before so we didn't get his special prize. Other than that Wahyu was a wonderful host: always willing to help and always availible. The only minus point we would give was the bathroom of our room but I can definatly recommend the breakfast omlett to everyone! Thanks for having us!
Location is incredible. Grounds very pretty but quite basic rooms. Breakfast was absolutley delicious. As a place to stay I would recommend it as a place to sleep more than a place to enjoy in itself. Really the location makes it.
This place has a great location. I emailed the owner asking for direction but never heard back from him. No problem because it is centrally located. Just ask where the soccer field is and you are right there. It is a short walk from Ubud palace and Starbucks and main Tourist office. The room was dated but pretty big and spacious. The bathroom was really old and could use an update as well but each room has boiler so there is ton of hot water seem like rarity in a lot of places in Ubud. If you want anything just ask for Wayan. The rest of the staff are nice but seem not to know anything and rely on him (usual question is did you ask Wayan or let me talk to Wayan). he can book you a driver, get you a tour or answer any questions. The only negatives I have about the place is that wifi does not reach into the rooms above the pool and that there is no netting on the balcony doors so you can end up eaten alive by mosquitoes. Overall I would stay here again if they get wifi extender so that you don't have to sit down in the garden with your tablet or laptop while mosquitoes are feasting away.
