Come explore the Crystal Coast & southern Outer Banks fro this cottage. Tucked into 40 wooded acres, serene and peaceful views of the Bogue Sound await you here.
Please read the entire listing to avoid confusion, especially the "Interaction with Guests" section.
Two bedrooms with queen beds are available in a curtained off guest suite. Both bedrooms have closets, ceiling fans, nightstands with bedside lights, dressers, and immediate access to the guest bathroom.
The bathroom features a large walk-in shower, and its only downside is the sink is small.
The kitchen, dining room, sunroom, and covered back porch look out to the Bogue Sound. The living room features a large smart TV (but for the foreseeable future the TV will be without cable), a very comfy couch, and several lounge chairs. The kitchen is well stocked, and includes a gas stove, food processor, toaster, coffee maker (although I make coffee with a french press most mornings), and more. The sunroom features wicker couches and chairs for lounging. The house is roughly 1900 square feet, and overall its floor plan is open and spacious.
The back porch is covered, and I can't say enough about the Bogue Sound views. The water draws your eyes constantly in the daytime, and minimal light pollution allows the stars to shine overhead at night.
Guests have access to the entire house, with the exception of the master bedroom and master bathroom (unless handicapped utilities are needed), including: the kitchen, washer/dryer room, sunroom, porch, dock, and one space in the garage for a small car or SUV (trucks will still need to park outside).
Free access can be provided to a boat ramp, and the property features plenty of space to temporarily store trailers.
Only the master bedroom is "off limits," but as mentioned access can be made available to handicapped guests or in the event of a dire shower crunch.
Interaction with guests
Bridget (my pup) and I live here year round, and I love hanging out with my guests and guiding them around the area. I work from home, and enjoy cooking for (and with) guests provided they chip in on groceries and depending on my workload (I can't make promises on being able to provide meals).
Other things to note
For handicapped guests, a large wheel chair ramp can be installed (with advanced notice) for ease of access. The master bath features a roll-in shower, which can be made available on request. The guest bath features a walk-in shower, yet the lip is roughly 3 inches high, and could present an obstacle to mobility challenged guests. Once again please let me know in advance if you will be needing these amnesties, as I will need to work ahead of your arrival to install the access ramp.
Other dogs are welcome here. I ask that you kennel them if plan to leave the unattended, and I do have an extra kennel for visiting puppies.
Smoking is permitted outside.
Guests are asked to have a great time, and keep it reasonably quiet after midnight. I can point you in the right direction should a you need to howl at the moon.
No drugs cheech.

Writer of words, coder of bits, fun-loving, and a thinker & tinkerer. I am laid back, adventurous, reserved but mischievous, and quick to smile. I wake up every morning to a hug from the world's greatest four-legged-daughter, and make kick ass coffee to start the day. I read constantly, love music of all forms, enjoy throwing heavy weight around for exercise, and relish meaningful conversations.
Outside of office hours, you'll find me mulling around the farm, tinkering on machinery, scribbling on pages (most of which get thrown away), or banging on an old keyboard.
