- Please be respectful to both the space and our neighbors.
- You must follow the safety guidelines in the Studio Manual.
- Be mindful of your volume late at night when neighbors might be trying to sleep.
- Parties are not allowed.
- Trash must be locked under the stoop if it is not a trash day.
Please enjoy every moment of my beautiful apartment, the fabulous neighborhood and the most amazing city I have ever known. :)
Nice apartment on great location! It is very well located, close to many shops and restaurants, and the subway is just a few steps. The flat is on the third floor, but there is no elevator. It is clean and comfortable, although it is a bit noisy outside, especially on weekend. We were really well on the apartment.
Really great block! Perfect for subway, bars and restaurants.
It's not as new as seen in the photos but the apartment is really nice and comfortable with ac and wi fi too.
The only problem was that it was not clean as we expected so we had to clean again but Sara asked to Airbnb to cancel the cleaning fee because she couldn't complete to do it . The other problem is that the refrigerator doesn't work very well and the freezer doesn't work at all.
Anyway I think that, if Sara will solve these issues, this could be the perfect place to stay and live the real NY.
The location was great! And as we mostly used the apartment as a place to sleep, this was top priority.
That being said, there were some downsides to the apartment:
- It was not clean at all. There was a lot of dust (I am allergic, so we had to do a lot cleaning despite having paid the cleaning fee).
- The bathroom had no light (Sara said that she would fix this, but this never happened). The bathroom was also very dirty - especially the bath and the sink.
- The kitchen was also not cleaned before we arrived and there where used and not cleaned plates, dishes, and an ashtray at the sink.
On the other side, the handing over of keys and everything else worked perfectly.
I would recommend this place, if you are looking for a great location, but have the lack of cleaning in mind.
The area this place is in is great, really safe and fun. No where I would rather be in New York. It's a ten minute walk either side to union square and china town. Only bad points are that it was all a bit unorganised, couldn't check I'm until 5pm due to miss communication (apparently no one was receiving all of my emails/texts), it's confusing as I thought I was speaking directly to the owner but it's always just one of her 'friends', maintenance man Kevin is great. No toilet paper though, only one key for 3 people (until we went through the fuss of arranging one more set) and we booked and paid for three but the Spare bed (mattress on the floor) hassle no sheets / pillows. The freezer also broke so we had to throw out a lot of food. Just minor things during a wonderful two week stay though, would stay again.
We stayed at Sara's apartment during one week. It was very well located: perfect for subways, restaurants and shopping. It was exactly as the pictures and clean. Sara was very responsive, which means she was always available on the airbnb chat.
We have read in a previous comment that the shower pressure was low, but it wasn't the case.
As it was already mentioned in the other comments, the street was really noisy at night, but with earplugs it was finallly acceptable.
Also, the keys weren't at the meeting point when we arrived. I had to call Sara with my swiss mobile phone, wich costed me around 20$.
Anyway, it is a perfect apartment for a couple in a really nice neighborhood and we have enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend that place.
About the Host, Sara
I'm a long time NYC resident who lives on a great block - when I'm in town, I often go to The Bowery Poetry Club and see my comedian and poet friends do their thing! I came from California many years ago, but have found my true home here in the East Village. I'm a hypnotherapist part time, and travel whenever I can. I am avid about music, fine food, and philosophy!
