  • Had a fantastic time with David. It was really fantastic when he called in our order to the Local Thai restaurant and the food was waiting for us when we got there. The hot tub and pool were really great to relax in after the day out. Great place for the open minded traveler.

  • We stayed in David's lovely Chillax Inn, and thoroughly enjoyed the amenities of his historical and artistic B&B, including a large private room and big comfortable bed, sparkling bathroom, beautiful pool, relaxing hot tub and lanai, free wifi, free secure on-site parking, fresh coffee, and engaging fun conversation. David is a fantastic host, and he generously shared his insider knowledge of the Puna District and the Big Island with us. We savored delicious fresh fruit daily, grown onsite, and walked from Chillax Inn to the friendly Pahoa Village shopping, dining, and outdoor market hot spots. We would absolutely stay there again, and would recommend the Chillax Inn to everyone exploring the Puna District's remarkable diving, snorkeling, and surfing spots, the cool towns of Hilo and Pahoa, or the amazing Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Chillax Inn feels like home, we had a wonderful stay. Jim and Kay Haggenjos, Portland, Oregon, October 2013.

  • David was a fantastic host. We felt more than at home. Evenings at his house were very laid back and made for great relaxation. Very creative design to the whole place.

  • My stay with David in Pahoa was fantastic! He is an extremely gracious host and provided me with a ton of great info regarding his local area. David took the time despite his busy day, to take me for mini tour of Pahoa and introduced to several people to assist me during my stay. Beyond being an affable host, David's home perfectly suited my needs during my stay on the east side of the big island. The Big plusses for me: Comfy bed, mosquito free, chorus of frogs(I liked them!), chemical free hot tub, gorgeous pool area, no tv(Yeah!), filtered water, avocados and lilakoi tree, access to his juicer, well equipped kitchen, style. I found the location to be convenient for exploring the East side and did feel safe and secure in David's "compound". I would not hesitate to recommend David's home to anyone wanting to relax a bit and be close to what little "action/nightlife" that happens in the area. My girlfriend and I will likely stay with David again when we come back to Hawaii.
