We spent almost 2 months at Esther's place in Almagro, Buenos Aires. Esther and her son Mauro were really kind and answered quickly to our requests. The place was just like what you see on the Airbnb page, it is very clean and you have all you need in the apartment. The location is perfect, close to all the services and the Subte (subway). Esther came at the airport when we arrived and took us downtown, very helpful when you don't know a city! And what a city Buenos Aires is! It was our first time there, so many things to see and visit, interesting to experience different life styles. We took a guided bike tour, visited monuments and museums. We often went to the parks close to our apartment just to watch people go by, children playing and everybody (and the dogs) sharing the space in urban harmony.
So we recommend the place and thank Esther and her family for everything

Emilce and Esther are wonderful hosts, very kind and super helpful. From arrival to departure Emilce was always available when you need advise and help to make your stay in this great city as comfortable as possible. The place itself is nice and cozy, with everything you need for two people to make you feel like being at home. Great location too as Palermo and Recoleta are in walking distance. Muchas gracias por todo Emilce and Esther!
Right from the time we made our reservation both Emilce and Esther were extremely helpful offering advice and recommendations for our upcoming trip.
The apartment is in a great location, is clean and spacious and exactly as shown in the pictures.
We were picked up at the airport by Esther and although we were 1 hour late she was still waiting with a sign and a big smile to welcome us to Buenos Aires. When we arrived at the apartment there was a welcome note that detailed information that we would require during our stay such as WIFI passwords, important telephone numbers, bus number and subway details and Esther also recommended some restaurants close-by to eat and enjoy the local fare. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a great stay in Buenos Aires in a great local neighborhood.
I stayed in this apartment for almost a month. Esther picked me up with a very welcoming smile and explained a few things about the city. The apartment is located in the Almagro section of Buenos Aires and its just as the pictures demonstrate. The apartment has everything you need including different coffee makers, tea pot, etc. If you like to walk, it is at a walking distance from Palermo and the Recoleta sections of Buenos Aires. If you don't like to walk, the train is a few blocks away and everything is a few minutes away in a surprisingly cheap taxi ride. Restaurants, pastries shops, pizza places, etc are all basically 2 blocks away at the most. I had a wonderful time. Thanks Emilce and Esther.
This great apartment in Buenos Aires is in an excellent position for exploring the city - being very close to the districts of Palermo and Recoleta and the shopping street of Corrientes.
The apartment is located on a quiet-ish, street (if there is such a thing in Buenos Aires!) and has many shops selling groceries and pastries within 1 block. There is also a great restaurant around 100 meters away, and many other good restaurants and takeaways within just a few blocks.
The nearest Subte (subway) station is just 4 blocks away and is a fast, easy way to navigate the city if you don't want to use the crowded buses.
Emilce & Esther were fantastic hosts. We had an unfortunate incident during our stay when our bag was stolen, containing the keys to the apartment! The hosts were very kind and came and met us really quickly with a spare set so we were able to get back into the apartment - for which we are very grateful.
When I go to Buenos Aires again I will definitely stay in this apartment again, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting this great city!
Emilce and Esther were great hosts! Even though we arrived over an hour and a half late due to a delayed flight, Esther was waiting for us and showed us around the very cute apartment. There are little notes and stickers everywhere, including a welcome sign and bon-bons on our towels, which made us feel right at home and very welcome.
Pros: The entire place is cozy and clean (even the bathroom! and we are very picky); it's in the neighborhood of Almagro, so it's not very touristy and you get a real feel for the residential life in the city; the apartment felt very safe; Esther & Emilce are very responsive and acommodating - they even allowed us to keep our big bags there for a few days during our four-day trip to Iguazu!
Cons (minor): It wasn't particularly close to anything (but again, it's not particularly far either, like the other reviewer said); there is not a lot of natural light (but enough); a tad noisy (you can hear the neighbors), but I imagine most apartments in the city are!
Overall we felt very safe and at home and would recommend this place highly to anyone who is looking to have a great base to explore BA on a budget (the quality-price ratio is awesome and you can't beat it). Thanks!!! :)
Esther was a wonderful host - so friendly and accommodating. I really appreciated that she went out of her way to pick me up from the airport and to take me back. The apartment is very clean and comfortable, and in the great neighborhood of Almagro, which is a much more authentic, non-touristy part of Buenos Aires. The only drawback is that there is not a lot of natural light in the apartment, but if you are out for most of the day, it probably won't bother you. Other than that, it's fantastic. If you stay here, definitely go to Cafe Musetta on Billinghurst & Tucuman; El Banderin on Guardia Vieja & Billinghurst; and there is excellent food at Doña on Humahuaca & Bulnes. If you are a vegetarian, you will also like La Huella on Guardia Vieja & Bulnes, and there is a good (and cheap!) buffet at Los Sabios on Corrientes & Mario Bravo. I had a great stay.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
