Situated on the ground floor in a pedestrian street, this special two bedroom apartment is conveniently located in the heart of Brussels historic area in a 16th century house.
The apartment has a spacious living and dining area in the front with open fully equipped kitchen, in the back a large bathroom with a bathtub and shower. In the middle there is a small bedroom with a matrimonial bed and another very small extra bedroom with a single bed. The sofa bed in the living room turns into a double bed. If you are light sleeper, this sofa bed is not for you, as it is on the side of the street and some noise might disturb your rest. The light comes in from the front side windows giving to the street. In the bedrooms and bathroom there is NO direct light coming in. It has been decorated by art and antique dealers and is perfect for those who like to travel in style and luxury.
There is a washer and dryer, a microwave, dish washer and everything to make for a pleasant stay.
Ideal for those who like to discover Belgian beers as there is a small specialized beer shop only few steps away. The district is lively with restaurants and bars. Just a three minute walk from Central station to the apartment. You are nearby all public transportation (metro Central Station) and parking (indoor public parking 'Grande Place', approx 15 euro a day). Footsteps away from all the excitement-restaurants, cafes, movie theater, the opera house, Bozar (art museum), instrument museum, shopping, chocolate and beer museum, the Grand Place and the Grand Sablon (art and antique galleries), chocolate shops and fashion shops Louise, Dansaert, Rue Neuve), the Marolles with its daily flea market, The Magritte Museum, the new Erotic museum and so much more to be discovered.
The area is known for its seafood restaurants and Jeanneke Pis : a modern fountain and statue in Brussels, which forms a counterpoint in gender terms to the city's trademark Manneken Pis at the Grand Place.
Don't forget to go to the Midi Market every Sunday morning to pick up your fresh fruits and veggies. Supermarkets are close by. Everything Brussels has to offer is at your finger tips and just a (cobble) stone throw away.
There is a covered parking (interparking Grand'Place) only 100 meters away from the apartment. Bus stop 50 meters. Central station 600 mtrs. Metro Central Station 600 mtrs.
Other Things to Note
***NORMAL CHECK IN is from 13 till 19 hrs.
***LATE CHECK IN before 23 hrs is possible with a little extra fee of 15 euro. If you need to check in after 23 hrs, the fee is 45 euro. This fee is asked as a small contribution towards the metro and/or taxi our housekeeper has to take to come from her home, leave her family and social activities outside her working hours and come and meet you at your convenience. It is to be paid directly to her in cash.
*** EARLY CHECK IN before 13 hrs is possible if there are no guests leaving the same day.
***NORMAL CHECK OUT is before 10 o'clock.
*** EARLY CHECK OUT is no problem and can be arranged with the housekeeper.
***LATE CHECK OUT no later than 14 hrs is only possible if there are no other guests coming in the same day into the apartment.
IMPORTANT NOTES AND FAQ :
*** The apartment is named after a famous Belgian painter, James ENSOR. Please mention this name in EVERY conversation with me.
*** The bedrooms are on the back of the apartment, so they are quiet. The sofa bed is on the street side and may be noisy.
*** The apartment is on the ground floor of the house. There are two steps to go to the bathroom, so it is not convenient for guest with mobility problems.
*** There is a washer and dryer in the apartemnt free of charge. Bring/buy your own products.
*** I have written an extensive GUIDEBOOK with reviews of all our favorite shops, museums, bars, restaurants, groceries, taxi stops, etc. There will be a printed version at your disposal in the apartment. It will help you to get around in the neighborhood and Brussels. On demand I can send you a copy of it by email before your arrival so you can prepare your stay better.
*** There is WIFI internet connection included in the price.
*** NO pets, NO smoking, NO parties.
*** No third party allowed in the apartment without prior notice and consent.
*** There is NO air-conditioning in the apartment.
*** Also available for long term rentals, ask for special rates and conditions.
*** We prefer to communicate in English or Dutch, but if you like you can write to us in Flemish, Dutch, English, Italian, French and German.
*** For every communication use the Airbnbsite. I check it every day. I DO NOT check my other emails on a daily base, so please don’t write to my other account!!!!
*** The apartment is NOT a PARTY apartment. We ask our guest to respect the tranquility of the other inhabitants. If you disrespecting this we will ask you to leave immediately without refund.
*** You are renting a private apartment, NOT a hotel room, so daily cleaning and breakfast are NOT included in the price. However our housekeeper is available for you and is charged at an hourly rate.
*** When leaving the apartment we expect you to leave it in a properly state. Any damage or extra cleaning will be deducted from your guarantee.
*** We use eco-friendly products for cleaning and washing.

Housekeeper was helpful and friendly. Location was perfect and convenient. Directions to apt. were adequate but adding street names would have been even more helpful.
Disadvantages: there were no interior windows, which may be ordinary for the layout of the buildings in Brussels, but out of the ordinary for New Yorkers. Fans in interior were very noisy. Ventilation was adequate though. Only one bedroom, not two as advertised. The second sleeping area was not private and so, to my definition, not really a "room". I had to walk past the sleeper in bed #2 bed to get to the bathroom. Overall, well pleased. Thank you.
we were met perfectly on time and our host was pleasant and welcoming and showed us around the apartment
OK - first of all it is really in the center of Brussels. I was few times in Belgium and if you like as me to drink coffee with a croissant or waffle in the morning - this is the place for you. You will be happy to find how close to you it is. The apartment is just like you can see on photos. It is clean and very well equipped. Ludmila is a great and warm person and with pleasure I listened of her Russian language which I learned in my youth. I'm strongly recommend this place for every person who like to feel a heart of Brussels. Great host, great place. And don't forget to buy a wine of Trente. Red one. For the late evening.
Located in a great part of town near bars and restaurants. The apartment however was a bit run down. It was fine for the price.
La estadía en Bruselas fue espectacular, Trente se preocupo por contactarnos y nos ofreció mucha ayuda. El apartamento esta cerca de la plaza central, hay muy buenos restaurantes y bares alrededor. Recomendaría mucho este apartamento.
Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt sehr genossen! Die Location ist eine Sensation, mitten im Leben, Bar's, Restaurants etc alles direkt vor der Tür und der Bahnhof/U-Bahn (Gare Central) keine 100 Meter entfernt.
Die Schlüsselübergabe und Einweisung hat reibungslos geklappt, obwohl ich den Termin erst sehr kurzfristig vereinbaren konnte - dafür ein großes Lob!
Alles in allem - sehr empfehlenswert, und ich komme gerne wieder da hier das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt!
I enjoyed my stay very much ! The location is a sensation in the middle of life , bar 's , restaurants etc all less than 100 meters away on the doorstep and the train station / metro ( Gare Central) . The keys and instruction went smoothly , although I only was able to make an appointment at short notice - but kudos ! All in all - highly recommended and I would stay here again since the price- performance ratio !
