The family made us feel really welcome. We arrived in the afternoon and the next morning we were invited to breakfast, which was a very traditional Costa Rican dish of, Pinto. The mam, Maria is a really good cook and would often come out to the garden to offer us snacks that she had prepared. The apartment is actually a lot bigger in the photo's and the bed is big and comfortable. The only issue we had was with the curtains, they were very thin so if you are not an early riser it is hard to sleep on. The neighbourhood had everything that you need in close vacinity, shops, bars, supermarket and a big shopping centre, 'Lincoln Plaza' all within walking distance. Right outside the house you can catch the bus to San Jose which is great as they are very frequent, the only downside is the noise which can be heard in the apartment and shakes in the wind. Overall we would really recommend for people to stay at Thais's place. The family will really do what they can to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
I have had such a nice time here that I extended my stay another month! I am renting the second floor apartment which was furnished exactly as stated in the description, very nice, spacious and comfortable. The whole Bogarin family has been so warm and welcoming and made me feel like family. Thais's mom has cooked some delicious "typical Tico" dishes for me to try and I have gotten to practice my Spanish with her. They have all made sure I had everything I needed and helped me find my way around the San Jose area and other places around Costa Rica. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, two blocks from the bus stop but with everything you would need in walking distance: grocery stores, restaurants, parks, banks, even a large mall. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay!
My family has owned a tourist transportation business ever since I was born and we love to treat our clients like friends so we've always had guest rooms in our house for that purpose.. you could say my family has the equal of a PhD in hosting.. We're very excited to expand the experience to AirBnB!
