Our private, handmade adobe guest house gives you the conveniences of home, including a compact kitchen, bedroom, and sitting area in a quiet high-desert setting close to Cochise Stronghold. Shower and laundry are housed a few steps away in their own strawbale building. The composting toilet, prepared fresh for each party of guests, is housed in its own close-by private shelter. Your hosts (I and my husband David) live in a hand-built strawbale house a short distance from the guest house.

Excellent place to stay off the beaten path, especially if you're interested in watching and listening to nature. Very well maintained place out in the desert.

This was my third time in the Bear Cave. The hosts are superb people. Many extraordinary sights, such as Mt. Lemmon, Chiricahua Monument, and Bisbee within an hours drive. And the Amarind Museum even closer.

Barbara and David are thoughtful and engaging hosts. They've mastered the balance between privacy and visiting. This was my third visit. The Bear Cave remains a calm and comfortable place, in a wonderful location.

The Bear Cave is one of the most peaceful and quiet places I've ever stayed...truly balm for this introvert's soul! The cabin is calm and welcoming, the surrounding desert is filled with life, and Cochise Stronghold just down the road is one of the more spectacular places to hike…
