1920's condo in walkable Lakeview!

Apartment - Private room · W Buckingham Pl, Chicago, IL 60657, United States

My exotically furnished home in East Lakeview/Boystown is a great home base for your city exploits. With excellent transportation nearby you can see the sights and stay in a safe and fun Chicago neighborhood.

The Space

I am a lover of all things exotic and vintage and my home reflects that. The decor is an eclectic mix of colorful fine rugs, artwork and Asian antiques. My place has hardwood floors and consists of a foyer, two bedrooms, one bath, a formal dining room, living room, sun porch and kitchen with eat-in bar. My guest room has a twin bed. Wireless internet and cable are provided. In-unit washer/dryer is available for use.

My condo is located on a quiet tree-lined street in one of Chicago's most desirable neighborhoods- Lakeview/Boystown. It's 2-3 blocks from 5 different bus lines and .5 mi to the Red/Brown/Purple train lines which go to downtown Chicago in 15 minutes. Beautiful Lake Michigan with running and bike trails is only two blocks away. A school, church, farmer's market, stores, restaurants, bank, pharmacy are all conveniently close by at either end of my block.

A note for summertime... my vintage apartment does not have central air. I am fine without it but recognize that many folks require it. I do have 2 large units in the common areas and a window unit in the guest room. The master BR has a ceiling fan.

I have a parking space but my car occupies. I do have resident stickers if you need for parking on my street.

Guest Access

Kitchen, washer/dryer, cable tv, wi-fi, A/C unit.

Interaction with Guests

I have a demanding job so am not home much on weekdays to interact. I have more time on weekends to chat.

The Neighborhood

My neighborhood is diverse. I live on a quiet, tree-lined street but at each end are commercial corridors. Boystown is directly to the west at Halsted. Broadway, to the east, contains a myriad of shops and restaurants and a farmer's market. Wrigleyville and Lincoln Park are also nearby.

Getting around

I am located within two blocks of the (phone number hidden), and 146 bus lines and the red/purple/brown line train station is within walking distance.

Other Things to Note

I have two resident cats- Ozzie and Layla. They are siblings.

Check In
  • Pam was great, all communication was prompt and effective. The condo was gorgeous and spotless. I would highly recommend and come back in a heartbeat. Our schedules did not coincide so we only saw one another briefly but Pam left more than enough helpful info to navigate a very user friendly city. Thanks again Pam.

  • This was my 1st time to use airbnb and i have to say if all future experiences are the same, then it will be good. The apartment itself is artistic and unique and the pictures do not do it justice. Not to mention it has all mod cons and two cool cats in residences, and the location is ideal for transport, shopping and general site seeing.

Pamela was very friendly, welcoming and helpful re local things to do and see, both on a personal level, but also with the very useful welcome pack she leaves in the room. She made me feel like i was at home from the moment i arrived.

Highly recommended apartment and host. If you are looking for a room in the Lakeview area i cannot recommend this host and her accommodation enough, you won't want to leave.

  • Pam was an awesome host. Very accommodating from start to finish. She's fantastic to chat with and easygoing especially since we were sharing living spaces.

In my opinion, staying at Pam's you get all the trappings, decor and cleanliness of a 5-star hotel property, without actually having to pay 5-star rates. In addition, the neighborhood is convenient, safe and exciting. Many of Chicago's main draws are only a short walk away - Wrigleyville, North Halsted, Boystown, Lake Shore, Belmont. Chicago's best improv, comedy and blues venues are within easy reach.

The Loop is a 10 minute bus ride away with the express bus.

I highly recommend Pam's for a visit to Chicago!

  • Pamela's place is great. Comfy, convenient to transit, in a cool neighborhood with lots to do. Near Belmont Harbor for those who like a stroll along the lake. Highly recommended. Plus, Pamela herself is fantastic. Informative, helpful, outgoing and seventeen other good things.

I grew up in a small town always dreaming of a "big life" so after college I came to Chicago. I love the exotic and have worked and traveled to places such as Bhutan, Zaire, Belize and India as a biologist. I now work as a Project Manager of a Real Estate development company. I love tasks that use both sides of my brain. I am an avid soccer players and love to entertain and cook.
