The Palazzo Cà Zanardi is a residential palace dating back to the 16th century which, over the centuries, has been added on to by various noble venetian families and is one of the most evocative and beautiful palaces in the city of Venice; the Serenissima.
Sumptuous and possessing particular charm, Cà Zanardi is located in a most peaceful setting and has its own delightful private garden as well as a magnificent terrace full of sun and colour.
An ideal setting where to live the intimacy and emotions which the city inspires; in a palace reminiscent of the ancient splendours of the Serene Republic of Venice.
Cà Zanardi is located close to the Cà d’Oro, the splendid 15th century gothic palace along the Grand Canal. It is located off the main tourist drag but is still easily reachable by foot, after a two minute walk from the Cà d’Oro water bus stop, or by boat using the palazzo’s private pier positioned along the fetching Santa Caterina canal.
The refined elegance of the palazzo’s halls and common areas and the delicacy of its original 16th century furnishings create a fascinating setting; as well as the ideal location for gala dinners, unforgettable wedding parties, cocktails, masquerade balls, musical events with small orchestras as well as providing a special place to hold one’s business meetings, conferences or art expositions.
Cà Zanardi is home to two lodging facilities, Suites Zanarrdi and Residenza Zanardi, each of which has to offer elegant double rooms and very spacious and luminous suites, all decorated with taste and with special care for the original antique restored 16th century furnishings contained within these suites.
The interior decorating is enriched by antique mirror cases, delicate damasked tapestries, hand-blown Murano glass chandeliers and impressive decorative stuccos. The flooring is typical marble “alla veneziana” alternated by a fine wood parquet. The ample spaces and impressive light in these rooms create a priceless sensation of comfort, privacy and well being.
The rooms either face the placid S. Caterina canal, thus providing a classic venetian post card view, or face the inner courtyard and private terrace also assuring a dazzling and charming view.
Cà Zanardi and its rooms provide the ideal location for peaceful getaways from the hustle and bustle of modern life, at an exclusive venetian address not easily surpassed in beauty and ambience
Andrea is a great host and was a very considerate host. His place is awesome! I recommend the bed and breakfast to everyone. Just make sure that while you are staying that you would take care for it while you are there. The furniture is from a long time ago! Very satisfied! I want to return there next time!
We stayed here 4 nights, and it was great, quirky and beautiful and not your run of the mill place. Andrea and his colleagues were always friendly, helpful and polite. I would recommend the place to my friends.
Lovely historic place in Venice! Andrea was very welcoming and professional. We had a great time staying at the palace and very much appreciated the free breakfast and coffee they provided in the morning. If you have a chance, I strongly recommend you to stay at Andrea's place!
Wonderful host and wonderful place!
When we arrived in Venice, we were about 1 hour late then we were supposedly to be. Andrea couldn't be at the apt. to greet us himself, but we met a very friendly associate of his. Andrea left us a note and three botttles of delicious wine in the fridge as our welcome gift. Later that day, we met him and got some suggrpestins from him for dinner. We went to both places he suggested and they were excellent. Andrea also makes delicious coffee and breakfast for his guests. :)
The apt. is located 5 min from the blue line public boat and only 2 stops from the airport. When we walked in the apt., we were so impressed by the size, the decor, and the beautiful walls of the apt. We had 5 adults stayed in the apt., and we had plenty of room for all of us. There were three bedrooms and four beds. We all enjoyed the balcony very much, sitting there having wine, cheese, and some bread, it was wonderful. We couldn't say enough great things about the apt. and our host Andrea. :)
The only thing that was a little bit difficult was the one bathroom situation. Five of us had take turns using the bathroom. Other than that, everything was perfect!
In summary, I give the host Andrea and the beautiful apt. the highest recommendations! :)
We stayed in this hotel apartment early May 2012. The big positive was the location in terms of being close to everything and being located on the North side it was very simple to get to and fro the airport. That was important with a 3 year old.
The other big positive, was its location on a Canal - it was a really lovely outlook.
The negative was that the apartment we were given, was nothing at all like what was advertised. It was ordinary in comparison. It needed quite a bit of renovation, but if you are not too precious, it was fine - I guess we were initially disappointed as we had believed that all apartments looked like the ones advertised on this site.
Breakfast was simple - just croissants and white bread rolls, great coffee but no fruit.
Lastly, Andreas was extremely nice and friendly, spoke excellent English and could not have been more charming.
Be warned if you are bringing small children - you cannot walk out of any room and leave the windows open!!!! They must all be closed with small children around as this apartment had no window safety barriers.
