Large Shibuya Penthouse with views!

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan

The Space

This large apartment in Shibuya has 2 bedrooms and a living room, is modern, newly renovated, and completely furnished, has a large balcony and lots of floor space (rare in Tokyo), and is located on the top (12th) floor with an incredible view of Shibuya, Mount Fuji (when it's clear) and constant natural light. While it is located in the lively neighborhood of Shibuya, only 5 minutes walk from Shibuya station (or alternatively 1 minute walk from Shinsen station on the Inokashira line), the neighborhood is surprisingly quiet and peaceful in the Shinsen restaurant mecca.

This includes all utilities. At a fraction the price of Tokyo's hotels but with much more space, convenience, and freedom, this is a great apartment for a couple, or could even fit four people comfortably.

Please note that one of the bedrooms has a traditional queen-sized bed, and the other bedroom has a very comfortable sofa (which works great for one person) and also a double-sized futon (with all bedding, and folds up into the closet. Most guests prefer the futon, which is comfortable and easily accommodates two adults.

There is no smoking in the apartment, but you may smoke on the balcony. Please contact me with any other questions!
You'll love the place!

  • Great experience. Jonathan's apartment is perfectly located. Small and cozy place, but very clean, comfortable, and functional.

  • Pleasant stay & good communicator. Would love to visit again. The location is excellent - only a couple of streets away from what is pretty much the main heartbeat of Tokyo.

  • Jonathan, the host, was very helpful with directions and any concerns I had prior to turning up and during my stay.
the apartment was beautiful and the location was perfect - walking distance from a lot if great things in the city.

However there are 'two' bedrooms but the second is just a large couch which is okay for one person for a night or two but not for an extended stay. We wish we were told there wasn't really two beds.

    Great kitchen but no microwave.
Great shower and heating worked perfectly in the winter weather.

    Response from Jonathan:

Thanks Zia. As I wrote clearly in the description, one of the bedrooms has a queen-sized bed, and the other bedroom has a very comfortable sofa (which works for one person) and also a double-sized futon. Futons are traditional in Japan, and found in most homes.

  • The apartment is perfectly located in a very quiet street of Shibuya, with shopping and entertainment zones only minutes away. Shibuya station is a short stroll and is a great hub to access other areas of the city. This was our first time in Tokyo, so the apartment was a perfect base for exploring. Jonathan was very quick with replies whenever we had any questions, so we couldn't have asked for more!

  • Jonathan's apartment was perfect for us. It fit four of us comfortably and we felt very at home. The balcony was amazing (even in winter!) and waking up to see Mt. Fuji every morning was wonderful. The building was quiet and peaceful, but just steps from crazy Shibuya. Jonathan was very efficient in communicating with us and the lockbox key system was a breeze.

Wi-fi worked perfectly, and was fast. It was great having a fridge that we could stock and a supermarket almost next door. Only suggestion we have is that some instructions for the Japanese washer and dryer would be helpful. We figured it out eventually, but because Jonathan offered such thorough instructions for the heating system we're sure that he'd be able to do the same for the laundry.

This was our first Airbnb experience and we loved it. Everything was so hassle-free. Thanks Jonathan! Highly recommend this apartment and would definitely return!

    Response from Jonathan:

Thanks for the feedback. Created instructions for the washer-dryer to make laundry easier. Thanks Suzannah!

  • Jonathans place is was fantastic for my stay in Tokyo. It is certainly one of the largest places I have stayed in the city with a great balcony in a fun location.

Check in process as communication couldnt have been easier. Ive already recommended it to a number of friends looking to visit in the coming months.

  • The penthouse was great, its central location was perfect for exploring Shibuya (about 7 min walk to Shibuya Station) and the street in front of the building is lined with restaurants. The unit itself was large and comfortably slept three of us, though a few of the door frames were short and I hit my head a couple of times (I'm 6'4''). Overall, great location and unit. Thanks Jonathan

  • Really nice apartment in a great area of Tokyo. Clean with nice views (you really can see Mt. Fuji when the weather cooperates.). Was big enough for me, my wife and teenage daughter. Decent walk to Shibuya station but also another station just around the corner. Jonathan was very helpful with the necessary info.

  • Great location, a number of awesome restaurants and bars and very close to shibuya station. The flat is cosy, and can host 4 people if needed (although it is more for 2 persons only). Tokyo was terribly hot those days but after a bit the a/c prevailled. Overall, a very good place to visit Tokyo.
