We have spent 4 nights at this apartment and enjoyed a lot.
I'd like to share few comments.
Location is amazing, everything is reachable by feet and you won't even need metro (which is not close anyway) or bus (stop is very close).
There was everything we could need for cooking.
Decoration is simple and neutral.
A lot of channels on TV - in Italian though.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
If you plan to sleep in the living room (my father did while I took the bedroom) see that it's pretty noisy street that leads to the Campo di Fiori with vivid nightlife.
It's on the 5th floor under the roof and the stairs are very narrow and high, obviously there is no elevator. For active people it's no problem but definitely can be for others.
Ladies, don't forget to take a hair dryer - there is none.
WiFi is not working in the bedroom.
All in all we enjoyed our trip a lot, mostly because of location and pretty nice atmosphere of the flat. If you think of budget stay in the center - that may be your choice!
Thanks Dario and Claire for perfect communication and letting us stay there.
I would say we had a pretty good experience at this apartment, It was easy to reach the host, we had a water problem and he answered my email in 2 minutes. We were warmly welcomed by Ramona when we arrived. Heating system was good, location was excellent, we never heard any neighbors. It is large and well equipped. On the bad side, it's on the 5th floor and there is no elevator, the shower is flooding the bathroom and it is small and unpleasant. It is impossible to take a good shower, it's as bad as other comments describe it. The wifi does not reach the bedroom and the couch is uncomfortable.
I would not stay there for a week but it's good for 3 days and for the price.
My boyfriend and I liked our stay in this appartment very much! It was the first time we used airbnb. The location is perfect, the place was clean and everything worked as it should (we didn't had any problems with the shower running over as described in the other reviews)
The only minus was the fact that there is no heating in the appartment. We stayed there at the end of January and it was cold and rainy and not nice at all to come home from a long day and still feel very cold in the appartment. So take enough warm clothes :-)
Dario's apartment is in an amazing location, seconds from Campo de' Fiori and so many restaurants. Dario was really accommodating - easy to contact, and he let us check in early and check out late. The apartment was a bit on the cold side - it was November and there was no heating; however it was clean and convenient, and it was great to have free internet and guide books.
We had a difficult time with this apt...first, the apt is listed as "Cappellari 5" which is where my friend I and showed up to at precisely the time we told the hosts we would be there. We rang the doorbell and no answer. A man with an apt in the same building (who apparently also is on AirBnB) walked out and started yelling about how Dario & Claire give a bad name to people who rent out their apts. Instead of panicking, my friend decided to turn on her iphone to call them at the number they had listed. It was not in service. This is where the panic started to set in. She emailed them several times, telling them we were waiting outside their apt. Unfortunately, she then had to shut off her phone because her carrier sent a text that she had racked up $50 in those 5 minutes trying to get in contact. More panic...
I went back and looked through all of my emails and saw that they had listed a different address, Cappellari 37, in an older email (we had emailed a few times and they were always prompt and pleasant). We walked up to that address and the man who owned the shop downstairs promptly came out and let us in. The apt was fine, modest but a good value.
I emailed Dario and Claire both through (website hidden) and the AirBnB app a few more times over the trip. I never heard back from them. Since we've returned to the US, I've emailed a few times to ask about my SECURITY DEPOSIT...I have not heard back from them and am assuming I never will.
Based on this experience, I sadly won't use AirBnB again. We feel slightly taken advantage of. It's very disappointing because the apt was fine and Dario & Claire had great reviews. I'm not sure why they have dropped off the face of the earth for us :(
Side note...be careful with the shower/(email hidden)ere is a sign posted in the kitchen to not use the towels to clean the floors. We thought this odd at first, but after showering and realizing that the water floods the bathroom floor (the moldy shower curtain was useless), we realized why they said this. Unfortunately, we had to keep using the bathroom so we forfeited a towel to keep us from slipping and splitting our heads open.
We stayed 5 Nights at Rom.
The appartment is located very well, all highlights of the city are reachable by feet. There is a market at the Campo de Fiori, a place next to the appartment, and there are some supermarkets to buy food.
The kitchen was well equipped, so we could cook ourselves.
The appartment was very cozy and clean, enough space was available to place our stuff.
We really enoyed our time!
We stayed in this apartment for 5 days. Location was really great, maybe one of the best in Rome. Apartment is on the 5-th floor with windows on the tiny and silent street near Capmo De Fiori square. There are crowds in this square even at night, but you can't hear it with open windows. The host was a friendly woman who explained all about apartment in 5 minutes and we didn't see her more. The apartment is clean and cozy, great for short stay in the city. The kitchen includes everything you need for cooking. Round the corner are very nice restauraunt, motobike rental and food market.
The apartment was realy great and well located! You can do everything on foot. The air conditioning was also opportune in july!
We forgot something inside after we leaving and it has been sent back to France, so thank you so much!
Rome is a very great city and if you want to eat a delicious tiramisu you should go to "Pompi", a specialist. It's not located in the historic center but in a place more authentic and very nice in the metro station Re di Roma.
We arrived late and the host waited for us until 2 am, really appreciate! The place is super nice, great location, clean and cozy.
I guess this is the best you can get in such an touristic city. Next time in Rome I would love to live here again!
