My townhouse is centrally located on the beautiful island of Oahu. Located within walking distance of dozens of eateries, lots of shops (including Walmart), and a movie theater, it is tucked away off the main road, but offers easy access to three major highways. Two bus stops that run several major routes are just blocks from the house.
The guest room is furnished with a comfy full-sized bed and has a small closet, desk, and bookshelf. There is only one bathroom to share, but I am usually up and out the door by 7a.m. All linens and towels are provided!
The second full-sized bed is in my home office. There is space for a suitcase, but not much else. I do need to know when you are making your reservation if you are requesting one or both rooms. This room is available at no extra charge to any party with 2-4 people.
The house has a cozy living room, large dining room and fully equipped kitchen. The large, covered lanai has a bar, large dining table, a gas grill and a charcoal grill. An in-house washer and dryer are also yours to use!
The house does not have cable, but is equipped with wireless internet, Netflix, Hulu Plus, and is fully stocked with plenty of DVDs and books to keep you entertained on rainy days. I also have plenty of snorkel gear to share and a boogie board for those so inclined!
My indoor-only cat LoverBoy adores affection and offers plenty of entertainment! His baby brother Deuce is also indoor-only. He is still a bit timid, but if you are patient he may get curious and come say hi.
Street parking is available, and guest parking can be arranged once you have the make/model/license plate of your vehicle. The parking rules are VERY strict in my complex. You must ALWAYS park facing the direction of traffic. We must arrange for a guest pass during normal business hours. If you arrive outside of normal business hours, you must park outside of the complex until we get you a pass. Luckily, it is just a short walk through the gate. Parking anywhere on the street outside the gate is fine.
A pay-as-you-go cell phone is also available for your use during your stay.
During your stay, my home is your home.
I have already included the 9.25% "room tax" and 4.7% "sales tax" I am required to pay to the county and state into the room rate, so there are no additional fees on my end.
During your stay, my home is your home. Please feel free to join me at the dinner table, or enjoy a meal on the lanai. The television is for everyone's enjoyment!
Interaction with Guests
I live in my home with my cats and will be here during your stay. If I am watching tv or a movie, please feel free to join me! I love having guests, so you won't be imposing or bothering me in any way.
My neighborhood is a townhouse apartment complex of approximately 100 units. The entrance is on the opposite side of the complex, and is the only vehicular entrance. There are two walking entrances on my side of the complex, but no thru traffic. Most people who have lived in the area for years don't even know the complex is there. It is located behind a shopping complex that includes TJ Maxx, a drug store, PetCo, Babies R Us, McDonald's, Walmart, Starbucks, Wendy's and several other restaurants including a deli and frozen yogurt shop. Across the street on the way to the bus stop is a 24-hour Fitness, a movie cineplex, a food court, Pier One, Ross and several other stores. If you are a Sam's Club member, there is also a Sam's Club and gas station.
Most homes in the neighborhood don't have air conditioning, and everyone's windows are open. The neighborhood is pretty alive during the day, but quiets down significantly after 9pm.
There are two major bus stops within walking distance of my home. One is just a couple of blocks, the second is a few blocks further. The closer stop serves most of the major bus lines that transit out west, up north, and into Waikiki. They also have 2-3 bike racks on the front of the buses. (website hidden) maps offers very accurate route options and transit times if you use the bus feature.
Other Things to Note
I have one portable air conditioner that is available for use during your stay for an additional $10/day. I think you will find that it is unneeded in this beautiful state!
- You cannot take LoverBoy with you when you leave. :-)
- Park ONLY in designated visitor parking spaces. DO NOT park in a numbered space. Between midnight and 6am a visitor's pass is required or you will be towed. Park ONLY facing the direction of traffic. If your vehicle is parked facing the wrong direction, you will be towed. Towing fees are almost $300.
- LoverBoy is not allowed outside. If he gets out, do NOT chase him. Just speak calmly and walk up to him to pick him up.
- Please ensure all doors are locked when leaving the premises.
- Please rinse borrowed snorkel / beach gear and let it dry on the back patio upon return.
- Lights off when you leave a room.
- If you use it, please clean it.
- If you fill the dishwasher, please let me know so I can run it.
- If you use the last of it, please let me know so I can replace it.
- Please ensure all appliances are turned off when you are finished with them.
- One key will be provided for each guest. If a key is lost, the guest is responsible for replacing the locks in the entire house.
- Two forms of I.D. are needed for each guest.
From Jun 1 - Aug 31, 2015 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
Angie was great. Lots of detailed information and quick responses to our questions, even months in advance. She even answered questions we didn't know to ask, which was very much appreciated. Our first experience with Air BnB and Angie made us feel at home instantly. Also our first trip to Hawaii, so if you are someone who can't be without air conditioning, pay double for a hotel. I would definitely look up Angie again if I were to come to Hawaii.

A great stay at Angela's place, her house is nice and cosy. Angela is very helpful and welcoming, she did everything she could to make our stay pleasant. We had great conversations with her.

Angela is a very friendly, welcoming and outgoing person. We spent very enjoyable time at her place. The room was very nice and cosy. All apartment was very clean and comfortable. The apartment had every needed facilities. It is located conveniently very close to the airport, Pearl Harbor and shops. It's in central O'ahu so it's also a very good point to make trips. We regret we couldn't stay there longer.

I am a 35-year-old professional who moved to Hawaii four years ago to work as a civilian employee for the Army. I am an Army brat who has been or lived just about everywhere in the United States and a few places overseas. I am an avid scuba diver, hiker, and sailor. I am trying to get more into kayaking and surfing as well. I have kept very busy exploring as much as Hawaii has to offer soI have become quite the amatuer tour guide!
I love having guests and this is the perfect alternative for me to having a permanent roommate.
