I have created a cozy separation for guests who want to stay in my apt. The apt has 3 beds each with a comfortable level of privacy while at the same time paying hostel type prices not easily found in new york. The studio is located in a doorman building overlooking the Hudson. Wake up to the smell of fresh espresso and look out the huge panoramic view to a breathtaking view of the river This alone is very relaxing. The apt is very quiet perfectly for those who wish to sleep soundly after a day of traveling or working in nyc. There is laundry downstairs. Apt is 25 minutes from downtown on the
A line. Its a safe neighborhood.with 24 hour doorman. If you are a traveler looking for cheap clean hostel like accommodations dont hesitate to email me.This large apt is perfect for travelers HERE YOU HAVE YOUR OWN ROOM SMALL ENOUGH FOR A BED, ideas for

Room was extremely small, I would recommend it for a weekend stay. Longer the stay the harder it may be to store all of your clothing. The location was ideal; close to the A train, delis, and restaurants.
Dan was a good host, we had a bit of disagreement at the beginning but when we met he was nice and everything went smoothly. The place really is tiny just as the other reviews say but you really don't see how tiny until you get there, just don't have a huge suitcase, because you won't really have anywhere to put it. Other than the small space the place was nice, there was a doorman, the location is great, the neighborhood is also safe and convenient. Overall good stay, but not somewhere to stay for more than a few days.
I had a great time staying at Dan's for 10 days. Dan has created a very nice and private hostel environment in his apartment. Close to the A subway that will take you anywhere in Manhattan and also Brooklyn. Nice neighborhood close to shops and places to eat. I would recommend staying with Dan.
There are postives and negatives to this room.
The negatives: it isn't a room, it's a cupboard with a bed in it, my suitcase didn't even fit in it, the partitions are not walls but planks of wood and you can hear everything (and be heard by everybody else). The bed is a camp bed and not extremely comfortable.
The positives: it's cheap, it's very convenient for public transportation, there are shops and places to eat, a concierge 24/7, wi-fi, you get your own key and a towel, and Dan was nice enough to keep some of my stuff while I travelled in California until I came back a week later.
To sum up: comfort is minimal, it's up to you to decide if this is the kind of arrangement that's ok for you.
The space was really small but I think you cannot expect much more for this price. Dan is friendly and the apartment is very very close to the A line.
Dan is the truth.
I really had a good time there!!The place is pretty close to the A Train, and A Train is 24-hours train. That's very convenient!!And the most I liked is the quiet of that place!!
Very Quiet! Good to sleep!
I had a good stay at Dan apartment. The host is very kind, friendly and helpful. The apt is small but with all you need if you are planning an holiday for the purpose of visiting the city and not of shutting in a room all the time. It is very well located in the quiet Washington Heights in a building with a 24h doorman, silent at night and close to the subway station where you can take the A express train and reach downtown in thirty minutes and less. I suggest it to all people looking for a cheap and cozy place to stay for short periods in the wonderful NYC.
Location is good. It's suites if you need a bed to sleep.
You have it with cheap price,so no need to wait smth outstanding.
Dan did his best to keep it clean and did everything to make it comfortable for me.
Thanks to Dan I had a real home in NYC! Dan's a great host helping you out with whatever and doing a lot of interesting stuff him self. His palce is a cozy and clean homebase, there's breakfast, you'll meet other travellers and the view of Wahsington bridge and the River while showering is just sooo awesome! The neighbourhood is safe, also for girls alone very late at night. There's a Starbucks at the streetcorner of the subway. Thank's to the A-Express train you'll get to Midtown in 20mins and downtown maybe 30 or so - without changing subways. Riding back at night the subway felt also safe, always full of people. Even the doormans are very nice to talk to and even caring. Make sure you can stay in the big window-room - then it will just be perfect! But the other spaces are fine and ok, too. Ah, and it's close to the Metropolitain Museum cloisters. Great place, highly recommended, enjoy!
