This studio is located on the second floor of a house right in the historic center of the city. It has a direct access to charming Plazuela de Mexiamora, a traditional, pedestrian-only, plaza with benches and a fountain around which one can spend relaxing moments after visiting the other attractions Guanajuato has to offer.
This is one bedroom studio furnished with queen size bed, a full equiped kitchenette, one full bathroom and access to a balcony overlooking Plazuela de Mexiamora. Plasma TV, satellite TV service, Internet WiFi are provided. Access to the studio is through a nice spiral staircase.
A large terrace with panoramic views of the city can be used with permission of the owner.
In the immediate vicinity (within 600 feet) you will find renowned places such as the three Teatros (Juarez, Principal, and Cervantes), the University of Guanajuato, and the city's main plaza, Jardin de la Union, where you can enjoy the music from bands, mariachis and coffee and desert from different local business, if you so desire!
We truly believe this studio offers one of the best locations in the city, being so close to all the main attractions, quiet and easily accessible
For a small additional fee we can pick you up at the city bus station or at León Internationl Airport.
First rule: Enjoy your stay!
The only main other rule is to leave the apartment the way you found it.
Treat it as if it were yours, or as if you're the next guest. That also has the advantage of making you feel at home.
In case there's a same day departure and arrival of guests, check-out time will have to be before noon, and subsequent check-in after 3pm. Time to prepare the flat for our next guests. If your day of arrival and/or departure is free, you're welcome to check-in or check-out at your convenience.
And of course it's a non smoking space. You can smoke all you want on the plazuela in front, but not inside the house please. Thanks.
Tere's emails were great from the moment we made the booking and very helpful. The location of her place is more than excellent and makes you feel like you are a local. The studio is good for a few days stay in Guanajuato to be in the center of everything. If staying longer, I would choose her 2 bedroom place with the full kitchen. She and her children are wonderful and the plaza is (email hidden)ere is an elementary school on the plaza so lots of kids in the morning but it's part of feeling like you live there!
Tere was a perfectly gracious host. She met me on time in the Plaza Mexiamora and showed me in. The apartment is small, but absolutely clean and well-maintained. When I brought to Tere's attention a bedside lamp that did not work, she promptly found me another. The bathroom (shower, sink, stool) is clean and modern. The kitchen facilities are minimal, but I never cooked there with so many inexpensive options for eating out so close by. The bedroom is small, with a comfortable bed, clean linens, and a selection of pillows. There is an alcove that connects to the balcony where a dresser is plenty of storage for one person. There are no views unless the balcony door is opened, The small balcony is fine for taking out a chair and enjoying the scene below. At times, Mexiamora is busy and noisy with the children from the school playing outside. At times it is quiet and peaceful. The neighborhood roosters and dogs can be annoying- it is best to approach a visit with an appreciation for local color and eccentricities. As such, it should be noted that this is a family house- there will be some family noise from the apartments. Likewise, it is wise to restrict one's own noise as it can probably be heard downstairs. Again, consider this as part of the appeal of living among neighbors and you will be fine-even appreciate the homestyle flavor. A few other visitors have commented on the tight circular staircase that leads upstairs. I had no problem with it but those with mobility issues will find it to be a problem. After reading the reviews, I wisely brought a small flashlight- very handy!
The neighborhood is fun and close to many attractions. Mexiamora is a smaller plaza with a real neighborhood feel. I felt comfortable there at all hours. A number of times, I brought out my mandolin and traded music with some of the locals under the broad-canopied trees that shade the plaza. People are generally friendly, police pass through from time to time. I felt safe.
Overall, I highly recommend Tere's apartment for the solo traveler. It is modest, but clean, comfortable, and well-located. I would stay there again if I were traveling by myself. Next time, I may travel with my wife. If so, I will investigate Tere's other, larger apartment downstairs.
Perfect location on a small plaza near the major places of tourist interest and local activities. It feels like a secret, special spot. The studio is spotlessly clean. Big fluffy towels, a comfy full-size bed, tasteful decor. The best part is Tere, a fun, gracious and helpful hostess who helped us with airport transportation and finding an apt. to stay in as she was booked beyond our reservation. We were very lucky to be able to stay at Tere's for two days.
We had a wonderful time at Tere's studio in Guanajuato. The studio was close to the centro, but still private.
The studio is as lovely as the pictures suggest, with a nice view over the Plaza Mexiamora. Everything is new, in the same style and works properly. Although very close to the centre, it is generally quiet, except the evenings when callejoneadas take place just beneath the small terrace. And it is marvelous to have your private box for the show.
Our host Tere remained in the background, and our accommodations were very private. But whenever we needed some information or support, Tere was very prompt and attentive in offering it.
We really loved our stay at Guanajuato and at Tere’s studio.
I enjoyed staying at this lovely room. The location is perfect, it's located in the historical area, yet very quiet at night. I was happy to have booked her place for my trip to Guanajuato.
