Oooh that was an amazing adventure indeed! Pamela and Emmanuel are so in love with the island, so devoted to the beauty of living, seeing, breathing and enjoying and so generous to share it all with their guests, that it was truly a family stay, not just renting out a cozy place (which was so cozy we've made a few notes to selves to adapt some interior design and color visions from it).
Pamela is truly an Italian sun - plentiful in her giving, caring, and staying interested around the clock. Emmanuel, a true son of rock-n-roll, is exactly the person to hang out with, to ask questions, and just to be around - and we know very few people as active, energetic and full of life.
The chalet itself is a dreamnest for any couple free from desire to stay in lifeless 5 star hotel. It's a crystal jewel box of sun and sky, fully equipped for living a delightful country life. We both rested and worked (we're both translators) at the chalet for 1.5 months, and the time was both most relaxind and productive.
No host could ever care more than this loving couple, show and tell more about anything and everything regarding Cretan culture, nature, geography and history, and take you to fantastic hidden places inland.
The description here is fully in line with reality, trust what you see and read here - it's 100% adequate.
We're in love with Prassa, with Crete - and with Pamela and Emmanuel. If you want an immaculate and spectacular experience of Crete, you hardly can't find anything so suitable.
We indeed are planning to come again.
Pamela and Emmanuel were fabulous hosts. Met me at the airport and provided a ride to the chalet upon my arrival. They had wine, olive oil, bread, fresh fruit, a kettle of freshly made soup, and other goodies waiting for me when I arrived, and they definitely went way out of their way to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. And they were especially generous with their time. Pam communicated everything to me very clearly ahead of time so there was never an uncertainty about my visit. The chalet is lovely and was exactly what I needed. You can't beat the price either. I had a fabulous visit, and I owe a lot of that to them. Thanks Pam and Emmanuel! Cheers, Mark
For eight days I stayed at Pamela and Emmanuel's little cabin, which is tucked away on the property of their home in Heraklion. The cabin is very cozy, tidy and well-equipped.
Pamela and Emmanuel were wonderful hosts and were very helpful in providing tips for travel around Crete. They were also kind enough to meet me at the airport, help rent a car, and even bring me to their second home in a nearby village. I really appreciate their hospitality and consideration for my well-being for the duration of my stay.
I highly recommend this rental. I would definitely stay here again if I ever return to Crete.
Efcharisto poli, Pam and Emmanuel!
We arrived at the chalet and were completely blown away by the location and the welcome we received. Pamela had prepared a greek salad and there was a fridge full of foods and fruits and herbs and drinks... everything and more than what we could possibly need.
The chalet itself was immaculately clean and was presented with a lot of love including homemade wine (gorgeous!), soap and olive oil from their own olive trees. We loved the feel of the place immediately especially the amazing huge balcony - everything built by Emmanuel, truly incredible!
We received on-going hospitality, way above and beyond expectation. We took a trip with our hosts to the village of Avdou where they have a traditional house and Emmanuel prepared a veritable feast while Pamela showed us around the village... a truly memorable day... Pamela also took us to the local market and showed us where to buy the best local goodies and anything else we needed too.
The chalet is close to Heraklion and local beaches but not in the touristy resorts of the area so whilst we didn't feel we were too remote it was nice to be a little away from it all.
Our stay was made most special by the generosity of Pamela & Emmanuel.
Pam and Emmanuel are great hosts. I felt like I had gone to a family member's home for a weeklong R&R retreat!! :) They gave us so much - their time, company, and homemade wine...even a delicious greek salad when we first got there! They gave us tips for travel around the island, and even took us to the cute village of Avdou! The house itself was so cozy and sweet. Perfect for two weary travelers! The view from the balcony was so lovely...this was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it!
Everything was wonderful! The chalet is perfect for one or two people! It has a beautiful view of the sea. Their house pets are just adorable! Pamela and Emmanuel were great hosts! They really want you to enjoy the island and have a great overall experience! They took me to Emmanuel's grandfather village and house up in the mountains and it was so quaint and rustic. I also went to Heraklion quite a bit to see the city life. I had some money issues (make sure you have a PIN number for any cards you bring!) and they were sooooo helpful with getting that figured out for me! I did not rent a car, although it would have been nice to have. They drive like mad people there and I personally didn't feel comfortable driving. I ended up doing a lot of walking (which was actually very nice since the weather is beautiful) and taking the local busses. Overall I did everything I wanted (especially with the helpful tips of Pamela and Emmanuel) and there is still so much to do there! Definitely need to visit again! Thank you Pamela and Emmanuel for such a great time!
We loved the chalet and we loved staying with Emmanuel and Pamela. The chalet has it's own unique charm and the view is stunning. We went to the beach on the two bikes almost every day, and when we wanted to see what else Crete had to offer, Pam and Emmanuel took us to the city or the market and they helped us rent a car. They were the perfect hosts and we had an unforgettable stay.
This chalet is as beautiful as advertised. It was the perfect spot for rest and relaxation. And Pamela and Emmanuel were so helpful, going above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed to enjoy my stay. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer!
Pamela and Emmanuel are excellent hosts for your stay on the beautiful island of Crete. They know the area and the whole island well, they can advise you on day trips and activities. They fill your stay with the little extra touches of home, like homemade wine and olive oil soaps. The little house is, well, little, but it is private and scenic with a great view of the olive, almond, and pomegranate trees below. It has everything you need, including kitchen, laundry, sundeck, etc. but nothing you don't. It is not luxurious but it is comfortable. We stayed three weeks and we'd love to have had more time. If you are on a budget, this place is paradise and well worth the cost. Huge for one person, perfect for two, could fit two adults and one child easily.
I had very high expectations of our stay here based on the glowing feedback left by previous guests, and I'm happy to say my expectations were not only met but exceeded! The cute little chalet is well-equipped, very clean and so unique, overlooking a peaceful valley with an amazing view of olive groves, Dia Island and the magical Cretan ocean. Sipping Pamela's homemade red wine and raki while eating succulent Greek olives from the local market on the deck at sunset was a wonderful experience we won't forget. We opted not to rent a car, and instead rode Pamela and Emmanuel's bikes down to the beach, caught the local bus into town, and took taxis back from Iraklion at night (which only cost 8-10 euro). Yes, the location is isolated, but it's so worth it waking up to the sound of roosters, bird song, church bells, and a village neighbour who likes to sing in the morning :) The local beach has everything you need - beach bars with deck chairs serving ice-cold beers for only 2 euro, tavernas serving the freshest seafood with tables and chairs on the sand, and even a fancy beach-side hotel which let us laze by (and jump in) their incredible infinity pool at sunset with the purchase of a drink at their bar. From exploring ancient mountain villages, to strolling through olive groves and vineyards, to sun baking, swimming and people watching on perfect beaches, to fine dining on the freshest Cretan cuisine and sipping cocktails at Iraklion harbour, this trip really was an unforgettable one. The only problem with writing such a glowing review is that this chalet is such a treasure that I just hope it doesn't book out before we plan our next trip! Last but not least, to our wonderful and generous hosts - Pamela and Emmanuel - thanks so much for a wonderful holiday in your beautiful island paradise - it was a pleasure to stay with you and we can't wait to come back.
