Sweet, rustic, cabin-like flat situated in a charming 1908 building in the heart of Portland's oldest neighborhood. Lots of room to lounge, entertain, cook, relax. I'd love to have you come & stay.
Have your very own home away from home. Very spacious, cabin like apartment in Close-In Southeast Portland. Hardwood floors, wood fireplace, gas stove, warm cabin feel throughout. Fully furnished with room for 6 (2 on queen size bed, 2 on double bed in living room, 1 in nook under the stairs and 1 in reading room on twin.. Enjoy a fire or the 12 mg wifi as you look out the big front windows onto the trees of the Inner City bike route. Located close in to downtown (the river) in the older, very established neighborhood of Buckman. This place is perfect for sightseers and business travelers that want an urban experience (coffee shops, music stores, vintage shopping, wine bars to dive bars) and their own apartment. Have people over to visit (not a party environment) very nice for entertaining. No need for a car if you're not traveling by car...take the bus, walk, bring your bike, and cabs are pretty cheap too. The #15 bus is just down the street at Morrison and will take you downtown in a few minutes or all the way over to Northwest Portland (NobHill). This apartment is in a building that's quiet and very friendly. Lots of trees & parks close by. Excellent for a personal escape, working vacation or a transitional space if moving here. Good for mature travelers too (although there are stairs out front). Children are always welcome (they love the bed under the stairs) and I can set up a Pak-N-Play if you have a very little one.

We stayed in the Urban Cabin for almost a week while I was in Portland for a conference. This place was a cozy, quiet, and sweet retreat from the cold and rainy weather. Sheila knew we were bringing our toddler, and left little pillows, books, and even a tiny chair, which I think was the highlight of my daughter's trip. Sheila is a fantastic host -- she was always available for questions or help, but totally left us alone if we didn't contact her. It was a great stay, and I'd recommend it to anyone. The neighborhood is pretty quiet and residential, with only a few spots to eat and drink, but a short bus or cab ride could get you to any hotspots. It's only a half-hour walk to the Convention Center, too.
Sheila was a perfect host, made sure everything was ready on very short notice. The place has lots of beds, and is cozy and warm and clean. It's located very conveniently and has a very portland vibe to it. Sheila provides a handy map of nearby attractions and transportation options. A great little getaway.
Sheila was a fantastic host, and the space far exceeded my expectations. She's paid a lot of attention to detail to make it feel fun and comfortable. Communication was excellent, and she genuinely seemed to care that I was having a great stay. A trip as one of Sheila's guests is a guaranteed safe bet.

We liked our stay in Portland. The cabin was nice, a little chilly and not that cozy, though. It was way bigger than it looked in the pictures. The walls are thin and you can constantly hear the upstairs people up there and when they use the stairs. I liked the map of the neighborhood of cute hotspots. I loved the fireplace and there was always fresh wood on the porch out front.
Meghan stayed during a total white out blizzard, a totally freak thing in Portland. Every guest in the building was completely snowed in, the furnaces were pushed to their max and all the schools and most businesses were closed. The Cabin Flat is generally nice and warm, this was a very unique week. This snow storm resulted in all the guests in the building being home bound when they would normally be out and about. Everyone tried to make the best of the out-of-the-ordinary high density and I tried to keep the wood coming. It wouldn't be noisy or cold normally.
We had a wonderful time at Sheila's place in Portland - everything was there and it felt just like home.
The Urban Cabin is a great place to stay in while visiting Portland. Great little neighborhood with cute shops and cafes nearby, many within walking distance. I loved that downtown Portland was within a couple miles and so easy to get to using pdx MAX transit. Sheila is a wonderful host and so helpful
I would definetly stay here again!
Urban Cabin was perfect for us during a stressful holiday time and convenient to family just four blocks away. It is on a quiet and pretty street with the nearby neighborhood offering cafes, restaurants, a winery and shops.
Sheila is a lovely host - and helpful, leaving some basics for our first breakfast and wood for the wonderful fireplace that warmed us and guests.
We spent three days at the spacious, pristine urban cabin--probably the coldest three days of the year--and between the roaring fire, stacks of wool blankets, and cozy, antique beds, we sometimes felt like we were out in the snowy woods in an actual cabin--except we could step out anytime and be in the middle of the city, with everything pretty much within walking distance. Best of all worlds! A big and lovely home on a beautiful block, with the perfect host--Sheila couldn't have been warmer or more thoughtful, all of which is reflected in the cabin itself. A great place, highly recommended.
