I know all the best coffee shops, mural walks and bike rides nearby, and can help you plan an outing, if given some notice.

Two adorable and friendly senior cats live here, so if you have a pet, you'll have a chance for some love while on the road (I know I really appreciate this). I do keep the cats out of your room, but if you have allergies this is probably not the best choice.

This is on the sun belt and often escapes the famous fog, but we can watch it float by quite well here. Twin Peaks and Bernal hills view on both sides.

  • Shani is a very welcoming, warm and friendly host, and provided me with all sorts of information and assistance, including information on current events in San Fran that I could attend. The accommodation is in a convenient and pretty area, with easy access to public transport. I really enjoyed my stay with Shani and her cats, as I felt like I could ask questions and have a conversation while also having my privacy respected completely. Thanks Shani!

  • Shane was incredibly friendly and beyond helpful in many regards. They offer a warm home, and provide gracious and sage advice to navigate the city. I would definitely recommend this place, and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Shout out to Shane!

  • This was my first time with airbnb and it could not have been a better experience! Shani's place is perfectly located near the Mission, Castro, Petrero and Bernal Heights, and an easy15-minute drive down Mission to downtown, or west to the beach or GG Park. But it's also quiet and peaceful, away from any city or nightlife noise. The room was spacious and you can not beat the price! And Shani was an awesome host — super cool, friendly, and helpful. She even stepped and way above and beyond to save the day when I had a bit of travel crisis. I would definitely stay with her again, and am now considering becoming a host myself because of how good the experience was. Thanks airbnb and Shani!

  • Great host and location! Shani was very accommodating and has great knowledge of the area.
Despite the short stay, had great conversations with Shane, who shared many common social interest topics with myself. In fact, she gave me some great material to use and share with peers and colleagues in the child welfare field.
Tip: do take the time to review Shane's directions and advise in getting to her address; be comfortable with water conservation methods practiced by the host, which are not super strict, but may take some adjustment

  • I had an enjoyable stay at Shani's appartment and she was a friendly and helpful host, finding me maps, giving me turmeric tea for my arthritis and putting up with my constant requests for directions. The room was fine; the appartment full of interesting things, including two very sweet cats. I absolutely loved the mission district, in particular the 'painted ladies' (houses) and the amazing murals.

  • Staying with Shani was a pleasure. Her place is really well located, near the cafes and bars of Bernal Heights as well as the nightlife (hello El Rio terrace!), shopping and incredible taquerias (hello El Farolito!) of the Mission. The room is cosy, comfortable and clean, and Shani is great to chat to, especially if like me you're interested in documentary filmmaking and the radical politics of the Bay Area. She has an interesting perspective on lots of subjects. I'd definitely stay again, not least because it's amazing value for money in a city with sky-high rents. Shani is definitely doing it for the right reasons. It's not for everyone (if you insist on 20-minute showers you're in the wrong place - this house has drought rules!) but I hope to stay again.

  • Thank you Shane! Had a great stay. The location is nice, situated in walking distance from restaurants, bart and public transportation. Shane was a great host!

  • I recently visited San Francisco for the first time, and chose Shani's place as my home base. That was a great idea. This place is wonderful, and Shani is a great, great host. She's friendly, funny, and accommodating, and always super helpful. The apartment is great, and the room is perfect. It's located in a great area that's also accessible to many modes of public transport. I'm really glad I stayed here, and next time I'm in the city, I'll definitely be staying here again.
