A cozy, private retreat conveniently located in the Laurel Highlands. Fallenwood, is a nature inspired, custom built cabin nestled along a pretty little mountain stream on six wooded acres. Although secluded it is far from remote, providing easy access to all the area has to offer. The local area attractions abound... Seven Springs & Hidden Valley ski resorts, three Frank Lloyd Wright houses, most notably Fallingwater, and multiple State Parks, like Ohiopyle! The area is home to three different rail to trail bike paths. There are also two local wineries with beautiful tasting rooms and several well recommended restaurants close by. The possibilities are endless, especially for outdoor activities like hiking, downhill and cross country skiing, white water rafting, biking or just relaxing by the fireplace. The floor plan is open and bright, allowing you to be in nature, with views of the woods and stream even when keeping cozy and warm inside.
We had an amazing stay! The cabin was true to the photographs and was even cuter in person. Janice was very easy to communicate with and the cabin was the perfect getaway. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a cute retreat away in the woods. We hope to return next year!
Janice's cabin was cozy and beautifully appointed, and even though we didn't get to meet in person, Janice was lovely and communicative, leaving us a great note and responding quickly to messages. It was in the perfect location for the wedding we were attending at a friend's family home in Ruffs Dale, just a few miles west of Acme. It was a nice size for us as a couple in the bedroom and a friend in the loft space. I need to find a reason to come back to this area -- maybe going with more friends and/or family to Fallingwater, which is also a beautiful close drive from the place.
Adorable space, very quiet and private. Great place for a romantic escape. We hope to have a chance to visit again.
Janice was an incredible host and the actual stay was amazing! My girlfriend and I absolutely loved this cabin - it was beautiful and very close to Seven Springs and Hidden Valley, yet very (VERY) hidden away. Very romantic and peaceful place.
We had a wonderful stay at Janice's cabin over New Years in PA cosy and snowy outside and a roaring fire, and great skiing each day at Seven Springs and close to Falling Water, perfect!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Janice's cozy, private and very well equipped cabin. It was incredibly clean, had a beautiful kitchen if you're into cooking and was a great place to kick back and relax for a weekend away from it all. Loved walking around behind the cabin near the creek and reading from Janice's awesome collection of books by the fire. The surrounding area is very rural, but we had a wonderful lunch nearby at Out of the Fire Cafe and really enjoyed driving around the hills. It was just my boyfriend and I this time, but we would love to come back again later this winter with another couple or some friends to share this great space. Really can't recommend it enough!
Staying at Janice’s cabin feels like staying at a friend’s place. It’s cozy, has great decor, and is well appointed. The setting around the cabin is wooded and while there are neighbors in the area, it feels outdoorsy and private. Being able to build fires in the fireplace and cook in the kitchen are plusses! I recommend (if you book during the winter) checking the road conditions ahead of time and being prepared to drive on a potentially icy or rutted road. In addition to having a nice property, Janice is an excellent host. She was responsive to questions prior to our stay, and very available during our stay when questions came up. Great to work with!
Janice was a fantastic host and her cabin is well-designed, clean, and surrounded by peaceful trees. Highly recommended for a relaxing escape.
The cabin is beautiful, and very well-detailed. We felt at home the moment we walked inside. In fact, a few of us spent a few minutes taking photographs of some of the beautiful details in the cabin: the branches used as curtain rods and railing pickets, the corner window seats, etc. The fire ring in back was inviting but the weather was not cooperative so we did not use it.
Janice had left us some fire wood on the front porch, some towels in the bathroom, and fresh linens on the beds. The cabin was very clean and there was plenty of water pressure. The driveway is a little hard to find, but Janice gives good directions on how to find it.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay at the cabin, and hope to return again soon.
This cabin is located in a hidden wooded area. My wife and I stayed there for a weekend for my son's wedding. The cabin is beautiful inside and out. It is tastefully furnished and immaculately clean. It is stocked with everything you need to have a quiet experience. There are two full-sized beds and a fold-out couch. The kitchen appliances are modern and the best quality. The cabin is completely surrounded by woods. This place is a real bargain, and Janice is a great host who made herself available throughout our stay.
I have stayed in many homes, cabins and apartments all over the world. This cabin is the best place we have stayed, and our frequent visitors agree! I would stay there again without hesitation.
