Beautiful historic Victorian, 3 blocks from all the action downtown. Two rooms available, enjoy a continental breakfast on the front or back patio. A home with all the Victorian charm you expect.
Beautiful, comfortable Victorian with like decor. Joseph M. long, a lawyer owning commercial properties in downtown Nevada City, homesteaded this property, built his home in 1866 with his wife, Emma m.& family. It has been re-built to the way it stands today, 1992 & is the most photographed house in Nevada City.
Enjoy the surroundings while on a leisurely walk to historic downtown Nevada City just 2 short blocks away. Nevada City is among the most interesting of California Gold Rush towns, attracting visitors from far and wide. The entire downtown district is a national historic landmark where the shopping & dining in the historic buildings reflect the ambiance of a bygone era. There is also convenient access to trails for those wishing to explore more than just the downtown area.

The bathroom, old fashioned claw foot tub/shower, is shared if both rooms are occupied. However there is another bath downstairs with a large walk-in shower that may be used. One room has a king round bed the other has a queen Murphy bed that is very comfortable, T V coffee.Arrangements can be made for storage of your drinks/snacks . There is also very pleasant patio in back to enjoy if desired.
We do have an Amazon Parrot, not aggressive at all & is not caged. So, please no other pets are allowed.
Weather permitting, the deck in front of the house is a perfect spot for sitting with a cool drink & snacks., also very nice to enjoy morning

Beverly's house is very warm and inviting. Its restored beautifully and has an air of authenticity and elegance at the same time. Beverly was an excellent host meeting us at the door and giving us a quick tour of her home inviting us to enjoy some of her treats.
there are so many positives that it's hard to pick out just a few. As mentioned earlier it's a gorgeous house and it's decorated with many. Items that are enjoyable to see. I also like the fact that it was a five minute walk to be right in the heart of Nevada City! This is a wonderful city and one of my favorite places in all of California.
The house was beautiful and absolutely amazingly appointed! Bev is an interior decorating artist and we felt immediately at home. The attention to detail in everything was unmatched, right down to the matching Halloween plates and glasses at breakfast (a Frankenstein for me and a witch for my wife). Her collection of antiques and everyday items from her and her family's past is a walk through time. Spend some time talking to this amazing woman. Don't forget to ask about the Gladiator runs that she participates in! As lovely as Nevada City is, you won't even want to leave the house, and the inviting and peaceful grounds. A true gem (the house was great too).
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Bev & Ken are wonderful host, and the reason we returned for a second year. They make one feel like family. Bev is an amazing baker, and even went the extra mile to learn how to bake gluten-free goodies that are to swoon over. Their home is extremely clean, as well as charming.
We plan on returning to the Marquardt's B&B again.

We felt so at home, her place was full of history and told her story. We were comfortable in our room and felt right at home. We talked with her for quite sometime over coffee at breakfast. She is a wonderful person and we would stay there again. When we left it was like leaving a friend.
Great hosts, terrific location, beautiful B&B! Eager to return!!
Bev and her husband were gracious hosts. We very much enjoyed our stay with them over the 4th of July.
