If you're looking for an authentic Brooklyn Experience; Look No Further! I'm an Artist living in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I’m respectful, kind and accommodating. I share my unusual home with like-minded creative and alternative lifestyle travelers.
You are welcome to stay in my Sunny Room. If you like to sleep in, this is not the room for you. The two windows bring in lots of light starting very early in the morning.
This is a sex-positive shared living environment and because of the unusual space, the sights and sounds of intimacy are not always completely private. However, respect for each other is essential and discretion is preferable.
This is a fairly large studio, it's spacious feeling even when everyone is home. I have been very lucky and met amazing people through this service.
I will provide clean sheets for your Queen sized bed and warm blankets if needed. I also have plenty of storage space if you should need it. The Sunny Room is comfortable and clean.
You have total access to my space, including the kitchen. I have a manually operated freight elevator that is off limits but can be used to transport heavy items if you require. I have fantastic roof access with beautiful views of the New York Skyline. Bring your lap top computer and connect to my WiFi. If you sit in the right space you can enjoy the WiFi in the open air on the roof.
Interaction with Guests
I’m a busy guy during the week and often we will only see each other briefly. On the weekends I have more of a presence, but not by much. I’m quick to respond through email and text if you need me. I’m glad to chat and offer assistance at any time. However, I am not an overly interactive host.
My Artist's Loft is located on the top floor on a quiet street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. This is a very safe and friendly part of Brooklyn to visit. The Franklin Avenue shops, restaurants and bars are just around the corner. Williamsburg and all it has to offer is just a short walk away.
The closest Subway station is the Greenpoint Ave G, also in walking distance is the Bedford Ave L and the Vernon Blvd 7. By subway, I am located 25 minutes from Union Square, 26 minutes from Times Square, 30 minutes from Central Park, 38 minutes from Tribeca and 25 minutes from the East Village. The B61 and B43 bus stop is only a block away and very helpful when weather is uncomfortable. JFK is one hour away by public transport and LGA is 25 minutes away by Cab.
Other Things to Note
Much of my furniture was custom made by the artist Jean-Marie Mauclet of JEMA Design and all my lighting is eco-friendly LED's.
Be respectful! Use your quiet voice late at night when others are sleeping. Turn off lights when you go to bed. Wash your dishes. Keep your area organized. Close the door behind you and be sure it locks. Make sure the toilet has flushed properly before leaving the bathroom. Recycle.
No running or jumping on the roof. Don't leave any trash on the roof. Do not invite a guest or guests over without notifying me. Be extra courteous to my neighbors.
Take care of the place and it will take care of you!
Nice, clean, spacious artistic apartment in a good and interesting neighborhood. Lawrence is a nice and helpful guy. I also met friendly people in the other two rooms that were rented out. All in all i had a great time staying at this place.
Great view in the room! It was close to Manhattan about 30 minutes away but you need to transfer lines. The neighbourhood feels safe and all the taxis I took knew where to go. They did ask me which route to take so you may want to verify which way is best for price and time. The bed was comfortable but the room had little lighting so getting ready at night is difficult. There were also no curtains but for some reason didn't bother me in the Morning. Overall, worth the price and a cool experience to be in a loft that was a warehouse or factory. #recomended
If you're up for a really unique Greenpoint experience, this place is great. It's a shared flat, people are coming and going, but there's a comfortable bed in a great room with a stunning view. I spent some great days at Lawrence's.
Overall I had a very relaxing stay. The description of the room was pretty spot on so I knew what I was expecting. The room had an awesome view of the Manhattan skyline, the fact that the bed was elevated meant that you can lie down and gaze at the gorgeous view to sleep (improves the chance of one dreaming about it).
Lawrence is a cool guy that made our experience enjoyable. Everything was as expected. The list above is accurate but I would add that the view of New York skyline from the window is AMAZING (day and night).
We loved our stay at Lawrence's place. They views of Manhattan skyline are amazing! there is also a nice rooftop in the building. The apartment is a typical NY loft, a good experience!
Greenpoint is a nice neighbourhood, cozy and familiar. The apartment is located pretty close to Williamsburg, there are plenty of nice bars.
The only "bad" thing that we found is that on weekends the frequency of the metro at Greenpoint metro station is pretty low.
I only stayed here for three day but I really enjoyed it. Lawrence was a good host and the room was big and with enough space. The rest of the apartment was neat and had a good standard. I would definately stay at his place again when I'm coming back to NYC
