The Space

Welcome to the perfect home base to explore the City by the Bay. My 1 bedroom apartment is located three blocks north of Union Square, right across from the Ritz Carlton, in a well-maintained 1920s building.

5 minutes' walk from Montgomery BART, two blocks from the top of Nob Hill (one block from two different cable car lines!), you're within a 15 minute walk of many of the neighborhoods that make this city such a pleasure to be in: Union Square, Chinatown, Financial District, SOMA, Embarcadero, and North Beach. Take a stroll to the Ferry Building for the Farmers' Market on Thursdays or Saturdays (I have canvas bags standing by) to sample some of the finest produce on the planet. Or enjoy the beautiful morning light from the living room, espresso in hand, with the downtown skyline as your backdrop.

You'll have full use of the apartment to yourself, which includes a kitchen stocked with professional tools, an espresso machine and plenty of flatware, glassware and dishes to host a dinner gathering for up to 8 people (you may feel inspired after the farmers' market!). You'll also have use of a 27" iMac (which can double as an extended monitor), a large DVD collection (from Criterion Collection classics to Zoolander), and wireless cable internet. Towels and linens are included. There are also laundry facilities in the building.

  • Very nice experience! Michael's apartment is great, well located, and very clean. His reception was nice too as Michael took the time to explain us well about the diferent things to do / see in San Francisco.

  • Huge thanks to Michael for making our stay in San Francisco such a success! A gorgeous apartment in a charming building and perfectly situated - on the cable car route and hills largely avoidable with careful planning - this was a great base from which to explore the city. Michael's the perfect host with the best tips for eating out and hidden gems. We only had a short time in San Francisco and his help meant we were able to enjoy it to the full. We were sorry to leave but will be happy to return one day.

  • Michael was amazing and so was his apartment! This was my first ever BnB experience and he made me feel so welcome. Like I was an old friend crashing for the weekend.

  • Perfect host, great apartment, easy arrangements - what more can you ask for? Michael's place is super-comfortable: I used the living/dining room as my office, making a nice separation from the bedroom. The kitchen is well-equipped, with plenty of essentials in the cupboard if you want to cook at home. Great cityscape views, within easy walking distance of Chinatown restaurants and Embarcadero Center. Can't recommend his place enough.

  • Michael is an outstanding host in my mind really stands out as the perfect example of why AirBNB is so great.

He personally welcomed us on arrival and made us feel very comfortable in his home. He very thoughtfully asked what we were interested in enjoying while in SF and made a number of wonderful suggestions about where we might go. He is an amazing resource and has a wealth of knowledge about the area. During our stay, he was very quick to respond with additional help as needed. He went above and beyond what I would ever expect and we are grateful.

The apartment is excellently located and is very well appointed. It's a great base for exploring SF.

I am planning a return trip to SF in the near future and plan to stay with Michael again if possible.

I have absolutely no reservations about giving him the highest possible recommendation.

  • Great apartment and though Michael was traveling while I was in SF, he was very conscientious about checking in and making sure I was taken care of. Highly recommended.
