Our month long stay at Pondok Dolpin was great. Delphine and Maxime were excellent hosts! We arrived in Ubud late at night after a long day of travelling, and we were pleased to find a clean apartment with a large comfortable bed awaiting us. The apartment is plenty big enough for two people, with a comfortable sitting area that we loved to sit at and watch the sunset each night. The apartment is about a 20 minute walk to town, which is nice because it is away from the busy tourist area. Delphine and Maxime are very hardworking people as they are in the midst of expanding their business, "Daily Baguette," but always took the time to see how we were doing and how we were enjoying our trip. We definitely recommend trying some of their bread as well! Overall, we are very pleased with our stay at Delphine & Maxime's and would stay there again in a heart beat. Thank you again!!
Great place to stay and Delphine and her husband Maxime were lovely hosts and very helpful. The apartment was clean, private, peaceful and very relaxing in a modern Balinese style. It had everything I needed and the main shops are close enough to walk to.
Our stay at Pondok Dolpin was perfect. Hosts Delphine and Max are very warm, welcoming and helpful. Delphine greeted us on arrival with plenty of tips and advice about the area, including a map that shows walking trails in the vicinity of the apartment.
The apartment itself is modern, clean, and well furnished. It's an open-air layout and we really enjoyed sitting on the terrace every evening to eat dinner and drink cocktails. After traveling in Asia for the last 3 months we really wanted a place with a kitchen where we could cook instead of going to the restaurant. The kitchen offered everything that we needed.
As other guests have mentioned, the apartment is not in downtown Ubud. It is located about 5 mins north via motorbike. This is actually a huge positive. Downtown Ubud is quite congested and busy, so we were really pleased to retreat back to the rice paddies after our classes, yoga and shopping.
A key detail that we did not fully appreciate until we arrived: Max is a professional baker and he and Delphine are in Ubud operating a brand new French bakery. As a result you can have fresh croissants, pain au chocolat, baguette, olive bread, or pastries delivered straight to your door every morning! We took advantage of this during our entire stay and we highly recommend it!
Our stay here was really special and one of our best ever AirBnb experiences.
We stayed at pondok dolphin for two weeks. Cute story behind the name dolphine. Delphine & Max were very nice and welcoming. Hardworking couple. The place was spacious and private. The view was nice. The kitchen was great for basic cooking. We cooked our own dinner every night. They supplied drinking water for us. We learned that our hosts were bakers so we took the opportunity to ordered some bread from them. The croissants were very good and fresh! Internet worked alright. Housekeeping three times a week. Fresh towels! The place was 20 mins walked from the town. Rent a scooter or walk. We like the walk. We used Jln Sri Widesari (across the bridge) instead of Jln Suweta because it's a lot scenic and nicer. We appreciate our time at this place!
Thank you very much for the nice stay and warm welcome! The view is stunning and we really enjoyed our time in Ubud. To describe the Apartment in one word, fantastic! We missed nothing, after traveling through asia we finally arrived in our small castle for the next weeks.
There is a lot of stuff to do and to explore around Ubud area. Just grap a scooter and start your adventures. Thank you very much for everything!
We hope to see you again one day. :)
We have stayed three days in the apartment which is lovely. Gorgeous surrounding and neighboring area. Not that much to do in the closest vicinity to the accommodation so you need to be prepared to walk. For us both it was at least 30 minutes walk to the town.
Delphine is lovely host and has made us feel very welcomed.
About the Host, Delphine
My husband & I moved to Bali beginning of 2014. After coming many times in holidays, we decided to change our lives from France and move in this place we love so much. We enjoy living here because of the beauty & the tranquility of the nature.
We are fascinated by the Balinese culture and the gastronomy.
The most we like, is the gentleness of the Balinese people and how they are always smiling and treating you like you are part of their family. We are so grateful to live in this magical island.
