Miguel was waiting for us and walked us through things in apt , how they worked!! The location was excellent and loved iverlooking the canal!! It was very homey and decorated beautifully!!
Miguel was THE most accommodating host. Not to mention that his home is in a perfect location. So close to everything yet away from the tourists and in what I would say is the most beautiful part of Amsterdam...the Jordaan. I opened his balcony windows daily to the most beautiful canal! Not to mention his home is so welcoming. I'm picky when it comes to decor, ambience, and character and it has a wonderful mix of all of that!!! He is a welcoming, informative host who doesn't hesitate to give you ideas for the best of the city...from sights, to restaurants, to experiences. I hope to one day be back in Amsterdam and in Miguel's beautiful home again!
Miguel was a great host, really easy to meet with, organised, gave us all the help we needed. The place was great, like in the photos and in the perfect area, far enough away from it all to be quiet and local and close enough to walk everywhere. Would recommend it.
Miguel is was a great host! He was super responsive, answered all of my questions and made my experience very easy and comfortable. His loft is tucked away in a nice quiet location of Amsterdam and were close to the tram and some of the popular streets with restaurants, pubs, and markets. All of my simple home-like amenities were fully fulfilled and the loft was comfortable to stay in. I would recommend anyone to stay here!
If you're looking for somewhere central, to stay in Amsterdam, then I highly recommend Miguel's apartment. The studio is a short walk from Centraal Station (maybe 15 min with luggage) and to many of Amsterdam's main attractions like Anne Frank house, the '9 streets', the Nordermarkt and the red light district. Although it is an open space, the bedroom and bathroom are very well separated from the living area so you'll have some degree of privacy.
I recommend to rent a bike (or borrow Miguel's) and see the city as a true Dutch person would.
Hi Cory! I hope you are well and thank you very for your review! I'm so sorry about what just read about the improvement! I feel like there was a misunderstanding in our communication in the begining, I really thought you guys would be a couple when I saw the picture in your profile, so I thought you both would be using the double bed sleeping together!
The blankets that I have in the couch are just to chill or for naps if you would need, otherwise if I would know that you were 2 friends sleeping in separate beds I would be prepared with 2 duvets and 2 separate beds as is on my profile, that is the double bed and a double matress that I put in the living room area!
About the cold during the night I explained to you by email the instructions for using the heater in case you would feel cold! During the real winter when is -15 degrees outside and freezing I'm in shorts at home and so far I didn't have anybody complaining about cold at my place and I had bookings in january and december when is really cold! I feel sad that you and your friend were not so comfortable because there was something that was not clear maybe from both parts, I guess! I can't believe you were sleeping in the couch with the blankets, I'm really sorry! :(
We loved our location at this place. Really a great apartment in a quiet area. Close to the train station and Miguel is a great helpful host. We rented the whole apartment while he stayed somewhere else and was available to answer any questions. He even got us a cab in the morning (6am) when we were having trouble! Great value for the location and space! You should know its a historic building and you can hear everything but the neighbors aren't bad at all! We are in Nice now and I wish I could say the same! Also Americans used to a "normal" shower should be warned that it's a European shower. It's in the pictures though so there are no surprises.
