The Space

Open space Studio well furnished, very cosy, in a Monument building from 1600, right in the Amsterdam center at the famous Brouwersgracht, considered by several magazines and also by the dutch people one of the most beautiful canals in Amsterdam. Very close to the Jordaan neighborhood, with a great view over the canal, near by very nice bars, restaurants, supermarkets, monuments, museums, galleries and trendy shops. Very quiet area...

The apartment is just 7 minutes walking from Central Station where you should arrive and take the train that goes directly to the airport and which take 15/20minutes.

The studio has one double bed, a double matress and a couch for one person! So, if you want to book the entire studio, is possible to host 5 people.

- Bike - 8 eur per day - Tipical dutch bike very well prepared with bags, locks and lights. ( In case to be stolen has to be payed 500eur).
- Shed to store the bike - Free

  • If you're looking for somewhere central, to stay in Amsterdam, then I highly recommend Miguel's apartment. The studio is a short walk from Centraal Station (maybe 15 min with luggage) and to many of Amsterdam's main attractions like Anne Frank house, the '9 streets', the Nordermarkt and the red light district. Although it is an open space, the bedroom and bathroom are very well separated from the living area so you'll have some degree of privacy.

I recommend to rent a bike (or borrow Miguel's) and see the city as a true Dutch person would.

    Response from Miguel:

Hi Cory! I hope you are well and thank you very for your review! I'm so sorry about what just read about the improvement! I feel like there was a misunderstanding in our communication in the begining, I really thought you guys would be a couple when I saw the picture in your profile, so I thought you both would be using the double bed sleeping together!

The blankets that I have in the couch are just to chill or for naps if you would need, otherwise if I would know that you were 2 friends sleeping in separate beds I would be prepared with 2 duvets and 2 separate beds as is on my profile, that is the double bed and a double matress that I put in the living room area!

About the cold during the night I explained to you by email the instructions for using the heater in case you would feel cold! During the real winter when is -15 degrees outside and freezing I'm in shorts at home and so far I didn't have anybody complaining about cold at my place and I had bookings in january and december when is really cold! I feel sad that you and your friend were not so comfortable because there was something that was not clear maybe from both parts, I guess! I can't believe you were sleeping in the couch with the blankets, I'm really sorry! :(

  • We loved our location at this place. Really a great apartment in a quiet area. Close to the train station and Miguel is a great helpful host. We rented the whole apartment while he stayed somewhere else and was available to answer any questions. He even got us a cab in the morning (6am) when we were having trouble! Great value for the location and space! You should know its a historic building and you can hear everything but the neighbors aren't bad at all! We are in Nice now and I wish I could say the same! Also Americans used to a "normal" shower should be warned that it's a European shower. It's in the pictures though so there are no surprises.

  • Appartment was really nice! Very well situated on an old Amsterdam channel in traditional old house! Quiet and nice district and just 15 minutes walking from touristic centre. 5 minutes walking from appartment you can find bars-restaurants and a supermarkets. Miguel was a very polite and a hospitable owner, was always ready to help with everything despite of our late arriving and departure time.

  • Miguel's place is perfect for anyone looking to stay in Amsterdam! I had a great time staying with a friend at his place for a week and it couldn't have been better. The location is perfect and it's a really peaceful place in the city.

The apartment is very clean and nice. I honestly don't have any complaints. I have stayed in Amsterdam before but staying at Miguel's is a totally different way to see the city, a much better experience than staying at a hotel.

Miguel is a really nice and funny guy! He helped us with whatever questions we had and always respected our privacy. We really enjoyed his company and getting to know him! I would definitely stay again!

  • I really enjoyed my stay in Miguel's place! It is in a very central location in the Jordaan area, which is full of nice restaurants and bars and of course looks over the beautiful canals. The apartment is very nicely decorated, clean and cosy. As for Miguel, he is extremely helpful and easy going, he will go out of his way to make sure that you are comfortable and that nothing is missing. It is true that the house is an open space so there is no 100% privacy, but nevertheless the interior design is such that some degree of privacy is in fact guaranteed. I would definitely recommend staying at Miguel's for a shorter or longer period of time, it will be a memorable experience!

  • Miguel is a lovely host. He goes out of his way to ensure that you have all that you need. He is generous, straightforward and very helpful.

The loft was warm, tidy and clean and is well described. Miguel makes this place a creative and inspiring place to stay.

I have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation. And it would be my first choice if I was to stay in Amsterdam again.

    Enjoy!

  • Miguel is the best! He is so sweet, and helpful. Always gave me directions when needed and recommended places to go. The apt is gorgeous, very modern and bigger than what you see in the pictures. The area is perfect. Most definitely recommend this place to anyone, specially for the price!

  • Oh Man! Where do I even begin with this VERY AWESOME guy! Lets start by pointing out that Miguel is a super caring host & boy is he hilarious! We managed to share lots of talks & laughs! He's very easy 2 get along with & he showed me great hospitality the instance we met! He was even kind enough to take photos of me at the street parade amidst the beautiful canals with his amazing camera during queens day, for my memoir.. Such kindness!  Hes equally smart & encouraging. He gave me great tips about holland in general.. Because of his dangerous levels of positive energy, one can't get enough of being in his presence. A force to be reckoned with, hes  definitely an unforgettable person. If you don't meet him, even for a short while, you're missing out on so much! Overall experience, super positive!!

Apart from that, he has a very cozy clean apartment with a superb location & everything u need to have a comfortable stay. And his studio still has a degree of privacy..I will definately drop by again! Thank u so much Miguel & if u want to visit Dubai before I move to Europe, u will be most welcome at my place! Can't wait to return the hospitality.
    Talk to u later :-)
