About This Listing
2 bedrooms, fully equipped and renovated (rooms, beds, kitchen, bathroom, terrace, dishwasher, sat TV, Wifi Internet...) independent apartment with private walled garden in a small Cotes du Rhone wine producing village in "Provence".
2 separate bedrooms, fully equipped and renovated (rooms, beds, kitchen, bathroom, terrace, dishwasher, sat TV, Wifi Internet access, ...) independent apartment with private garden in a small wine producing village in the "Provence" area.
The whole apartment has been purpose designed to enable wheelchair access if required and, after a few requests, we now also have a baby cot :-).
The house is off the beaten track and very calm but at the same time the location is right in the middle of everything that's interesting in the Provence while easily in reach of the Cote d'Azur, the Ardeche, the Southern Alps... the immediate surroundings of the apt are great for outdoor activities, walks or just a lazy afternoon siesta with a book. We have a pair of bicycles you can use to get around the village or go for a spin in the countryside as well.
Interaction with Guests
We like to host as we like to BE hosted... with attention to detail and with personal presence if required.
The appartment is on the rear side of our house and we are thus easily reachable in case of a requirement but we basically will keep out of your way unless you want us to be of help, give details about local activities or good adresses or, as has been known to happen, invite us over for a drink :-).
We love our region, like sharing good experiences and meeting people through airbnb.
A bientôt !
Pascale et Robert
Domazan is a small and quietly friendly wine producing village situated in a triangle between Avignon, Nimes and Uzes. The apt is 3 min walk from the village centre where a perfectly adequate village café / restaurant / bakery / shop can cater not only for fresh croissants and baguette for your breakfast but also local fruit, vegetables, wines, cheese and almost anything else you forgot to get for your evening meal.
Note that the restaurant serves on weekdays and at noon only and the village shop is closed for most of August.
Neighboring attractions : The towns of Avignon, Nîmes, Uzés, Arles, St.Rémy de Provence, Aigues Mortes, Baux de Provence... The Pont du Gard, The Camargue national parc, Roman circuses (Nîmes, Arles) and theaters (Orange), Medieval palaces (Avignon), the Avignon theatre festival in July, the Cevennes national parc, the Mediterranean beaches and laid back lifestyle... the Côtes du Rhone wineries: ranging from our local neighbours to the most prestigious, Châteauneuf du Pape, Tavel, Gigondas and other wine producing villages... all within a 30 km radius... check out the guidebook for some more ideas.
You will obviously need a car to get around as rural public transport is pretty sparse... Getting here is easiest by high speed train (TGV) to Avignon TGV station which is 15 mins away from the house (from Paris in 2,5 hours or from Brussels, Amsterdam, Frankfurt or London) or via any of the following airports : Marseille Provence airport (1 hour), Nimes Garons (25 mins), Montpellier Frejorgues (35 mins).
All major car rental agencies have offices in the above airports and at the Avignon TGV station, we can help with formalities or check prices of course.
Other Things to Note
Smokers are welcome as indicated but we kindly ask to smoke outdoors out of respect for other guests... You will be more confortable on the patio or in the garden :-)
If you want to bring your pet, please inform us :-)
First and foremost - amazing hosts. Very attentive and incredibly helpful. We felt very welcomed and the real reason for picking this particular place was that it had been adapted and modified for disabled people. This place didn't let us down.
There are no steps within the apartment and you have a private garden to walk into and nearby quaint village shop - walking distance for stick users (flat, no major roads, quiet and not too many pot holes)
It's a real French village with wonderful people as hosts - we will visit again.
The four of us ( 2 adults, 2 kids) had the best of time while staying in Pascale & Robert place. The house is well equipped, in a very nice, small village, in a perfect location to explore most of Provence cities and villages. Our multilingual host, Robert went for the extra mile by helping us in any way possible. Thanks Pascale & Robert, hope to see you again one day!
Doron & Einat
This countryside apartment is fantastic and we loved every moment of our stay here. The apt itself was clean, well equipped, spacious and tastefully decorated. You'd be crazy to stay anywhere else! Robert was so good to us, nothing was too much trouble, he gave us some great ideas for travelling in the region and even dropped fresh croissants at our door occasionally. Would highly recommend!
Pasquale and Robert were from the very first moment on very kind hosts. They replied in no time to our request for a reservation, provided any guidance needed and were very welcoming. All worked out perfectly fine and the apartment itself was cozy and charming. Exactly what we had been looking for!
They even offered us a bottle of champagne to celebrate New Year's eve :-)
We can only recommend staying in Domazan if you like to enjoy a calm break in a nice surrounding.
Très bel appartement dans un charmant petit village. Le jardin est très agréable et permet de se ressourcer en toute tranquillité. L'emplacement est parfait pour visiter la région! Nous avons eu un très bon accueil de nos hôtes et nous recommandons vivement cette location!
Robert and Pascale were the perfect hosts. Their apartment in the little village of Domazan was well appointed, clean and in an ideal location. Robert was extremely helpful in helping us pick the right places to visit. We were close to Nimes, Uzes, La Baux, Avignon and St. Remy. The free parking and wifi were a bonus
We would recommend this apartment to our friends when visiting Provence.

About the Host, Pascale & Robert
I (Robert) am a typical multilingual product of an international school curriculum and parents of different nationalities. I work in International Sales and thus travel a lot to many different destinations; this is a substantial part of what makes me tick.
I came to the Provence in 1984 and am still deeply grateful to be able to live in such a diverse and beautiful part of the world.
My wife Pascale is a talented event and interior decorator, she not only does our house and the apt we rent but her company also decorates restaurants and hotels and organizes corporate or private events.
She was born 10 kms from where we live now and thus knows a lot about the area we live in. She's the daughter of a Michelin starred chef and knows where the best table is for every budget as well as how to make typical French "cuisine".
Our lifestyle, our friends and our interests are like that food, diverse...
We love hosting people with as ground rule that we host as we would like to be hosted: In comfort and taste with attention to detail. We enjoy feeling proximity while leaving ample space for personal experiences and local discoveries.
We have 4 kids in their early twenties who have left home and 2 very gentle and friendly dogs (Ebène & Java) who we are sure you will meet as they are generally adopted and spoilt by most of our guests.
Our own travel method would be best described as being “get there and improvise afterwards, avoid the tourist traps and seek out where the locals go”.
Our destinations mostly result from a detail which triggered our curiosity or motivation. We like music, films, reading and just about any form of leisure that takes place on or near water.
Hosting on Airbnb is proving to be a great way to meet a very large variety of truly fabulous people from all over the world and from all walks of life. We love it !
