Our 75-sqm apartment,is located in Monteverde Vecchio, the historic district of Rome, one of the most beautiful residential areas of Rome.
The Janiculum hill, Trastevere and the centre are 15/25 minutes walking. Vatican can be reached in 5 minutes sbwy
The living room with large sofas, an extendable dinner table that could easily accomodate 6 people and a wall-projector TV with a broad choice of channels.
Our 75-square-meters apartment, a few steps from the Janiculum, the Trastevere area and the Vatican, is located in the beautiful scenery of Monteverde Vecchio, on the second floor of an ancient convent built in the 1920’s. The structure, bright and spacious, consists of a spacious living room, two double bedrooms, a large kitchen and a bathroom.
The large and bright living room comprises large sofas, an extendable dinner table that could easily accommodate 6 persons and a wall-projector TV with a broad choice of channels, including several for children.
The master bedroom also called “the green room” has a double bed, a ceiling fan for sultry summer nights and -delight of delights!- it overlooks the gardens of a monastery!
The second bedroom, ”the blue room”, is smaller, perfect for those who don’t mind sleeping in single beds.
The kitchen is very well equipped, with everything you might need: fridge freezer, two ovens (one bigger, one smaller), dishwasher, washing machine, gas stove, dishes, cutlery, pans, cups, glasses and so on.
The bathroom has a tub, a toilet, bidet and a washbowl.
The AC may heat up or cool the whole apartment according to the season.
The structure can hold n.5 persons and provides all the comforts (air conditioning for hot summers, independent heating for cold winters, wall-projector TV, ceiling fan, Wifi internet access).
Moreover it is well connected with the city center as Trastevere, St Peter’s and the Janiculum are within walking distance and there are several train stations and bus stops nearby to reach other central areas.
Guests have exclusive access to the apartment but we remain available to them throughout their stay.
Interaction with Guests
Upon our guests' arrival, we provide maps of the neighborhood with all important places (the daily market for fresh fruit and vegetables, grocery stores, bus and train stations, restaurants, delicatessens, takeaways, bars and so on) and offer suggestions on how to reach on foot or by public transport the closest touristic sites like the Trastevere neighborhood, St Peter’s, the Sistine chapel, the Vatican Museums, the panoramic view of the Janiculum, Villa Sciarra and Villa Pamphili gardens and the roman sites of the city centre such as the Circus Maximus, the Colosseum, the Ancient Roman forum, the arch of Constantine, the Palatine hill, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Baths of Caracalla, the Imperial Fora, Via Appia Antica and Catacombs. Upon request we can arrange a taxi from the apartment to Termini Station, Fiumicino or Ciampino airport and viceversa. This service is included in the price and may vary depending on personal requirements.
Also, in case you need to park your car, the parking below the apartment, along Via Cavallotti and on the adjacent streets, is free and safe.
In addition to, if you require a private garage, in Via Maurizio Quadrio, 5 minutes walking from the apartment, the daily price is 13 euros for small cars and 15 euros for the big ones. It 'obvious that for long periods the price decreases.
Finally, we offer a bike rental (city bikes, electric bikes, mountain bikes).
Our bikes are kept below the apartment and available at any time.
Monteverde Vecchio, situated on Rome highest peak, the Janiculum hill, known for his large gardens and antique buildings, is one of the most beautiful residential areas in Rome. Villa Doria Pamphili, Rome’s largest public park, has plenty to see: sculptured gardens, vine–tangled statuary and multiples villas.
Also, Villa Sciarra gardens, not far from the American and Spanish academies, offers statues of Roman mythological creatures, an aviary, fountains, grassy areas and many trees.
Moreover, even if Monteverde Vecchio is a residential area, you can quickly reach any part of the city, the nightlife, the cultural points of interest:
Trastevere neighborhood (Piazza trilussa): 900 mt.
Piazzale Giuseppe Garibaldi/Passeggiata del Gianicolo: 1 km.
Piazza San Pietro: 2km.
Villa Sciarra gardens: 350 meters (10 minutes walking).
Villa Doria Pamphili gardens: 800 meters.
American Academy in Rome: 1.3 km.
Spanish Academy in Rome: 1.3 Km. ( Piazza San Pietro in Montorio,3)
Piazza Venezia 2.5 km.
Castel Sant’Angelo 2.6 km
Colosseo 2.7 km.
Circo Massimo 1,8 km.
Bus no.75 (going to INDIPENDENZA) stops in Via Poerio, a 100 mt ways from the apartment,will take you to the city centre making the following stops:
- Circo Massimo
- San Gregorio
- Celio Vibenna
- Fori Imperiali
The bus stops Aventino, Circo Massimo, Cavour and Termini are all connected to underground train stations.
You could also directly take a 5 minute ride from the underground station Quattro Venti (150 mt away from the apartment) to reach St Peter Cathedral or other underground train stations.
Finally you can take the FR1 train from Trastevere Station (600 mt away from the apartment- 15 minutes on foot or5 minutes by taxi)to reach Fiumicino airport in 27 minutes. There is a train leaving every 30 minutes and the one way ticket costs 8 euros.
In addition to Lines 8, which stop is a 15-minute walk from the apartment, connects Piazza Venezia, in the historic centre, with the popular nightlife district of Trastevere, making the following stops:
Piazza Ippolito Nievo
Trastevere/Bernardino da Feltre
Arenula/ Ministero Giustizia
The tram stops at Trastevere railroad station, where commuter trains, as I mentioned before, run to Fiumicino airport and the cruise port of Civitavecchia.
Other Things to Note
From 1st september 2014 the Rome Capitale authority has decided on tourist accomodation tax payments due from the guests of hotels, holiday homes, rented rooms establishments, beds and breakfast and camping grounds in Rome. The tourist accomodation tax for each night spent in an holiday apartment is 3,5 euros per person, excluding children under 10 years.
The tax does not apply more than 10 nights
this property is privately owned and I hope that you will look after it during your stay, just as if it was your own home!
During your stay you are expected to:
- Leave the apartment in the same condition that you would like to find it in yourself.
- Leave it tidy for the next guests.
- Do not exceed the number of people for which the property has capacity.
- You are personally responsible for anything you damage. In case of personal injury you should always contact your own insurance company. I can't be held responsible, but I'm obviously available if you need help!
-Our apartment is located in an elegant building. We urge you to respect the neighbors and not causing them any disturbance during the hours of rest day and night.
