Glen Lake cozy cabin

The Space

We've had so much fun hosting airbnb guests in our year round home we've decided to host in our seasonal residence too. It’s tucked in at the end of a quiet dead-end road, but our Glen Lake cottage is easily accessible to I-87, with ample services and conveniences close by. There are also ample movie theaters, many restaurants, The Great Escape amusement park and shopping outlets, [if you need that kinda thing] within 2 miles. But we think the true glory of this home lies in the open-air life of the screened sleeping and sitting porch, shaded by oaks and pines that open onto deep-water swimming not 15 feet from your 100ft of private shoreline. Walk from the cottage level patio to our 16x27' carpeted deck-over boathouse that extends out over the water for 360 degree views of the lake and mountains beyond. The more daring can open the end-gate and leap the 11ft down to clear, deep waters below.
We have 2 bedrooms available, one with a queen bed and the other a full bed. Bring your bikes and ride on the bike path to Lake George which is only 6 miles away.Don't forget your bathing suits as we enjoy the best swimming!Wake up to the sounds of birds singing and enjoy the luxurious outdoor shower while we brew the java. There's an indoor shower too but we never use it as it doesn't compare.

  • Staying at Linda and Russ's lakeside abode was the perfect antidote to a hectic week in nearby New York City. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and instantly felt at home in Linda and Russ' company due to their delightful sense of humour and interesting conversation. Leaping off the deck into the pristine waters of Glen Lake below was one of the highlights of our North American tour thus far and we enjoyed swimming in nearby Lake George and a great hike up nearby Buck Mountain, with spectacular scenery on offer at the summit. Linda was really excellent to deal with when we were booking our trip and was extremely helpful, not only suggesting things to do on our way to Glens Falls (highly recommend Storm King Art Center, an outdoor sculpture park in the Hudson Valley) but also in New York City, which was totally unnecessary but very much appreciated! Our expectations were definitely exceeded and we only wish we could have stayed longer - thanks Linda and Russ!

  • Staying with Russell and Linda was awesome - they have such a great cottage on Glens Lake and are very generous hosts. We loved the docks, the lake, the outdoor shower, and some great chats. That we booked at the last minute, had no trouble finding the cottage, and still had time for a good (bicycle) ride, is a testament to their excellent communication and hospitality.

  • Linda and Russ were wonderful hosts, and their place on Lake Glenn is a wonderful place to stay. Highlights of our stay included going out on the various boats, chipmunk fishing and a giant puppet show!

  • Lin & Russ are amazing hosts!!! They welcomed us warmly and made our stay just perfect! The place is beautiful and enjoyable beyond expectations (which were already high).
Interesting conversations, good wine on the pier at night; in the morning, swimming and canoeing in the lake... it was supposed to be just a stop on the way to Montreal and it ended up being one of the most pleasant highlights of our vacation.

  • Lin and Russ are fantastic hosts! The lake is just gorgeous and the house cozy and charming. We enjoyed sitting and chatting with them, especially over Lin's delicious breakfast! We'll definitely have to head back sometime when there's not 100% rain. :) Thanks so much to both of you!

  • Linda and Russ were great hosts and good company. Enjoyed the outdoor shower, outdoor deck, outdoor paddling, outdoor bike trails, and outdoor swimming. The bed was clean and comfy and the bathroom was as well. The setting was peaceful and casual. The way we like it. Did some grilling (outdoors) and as promised they did not hack us to death in our sleep. Thanks for everything guys!

  • Linda and Russ own a charming camp on the lake like the ones I remember from childhood. I spent most of my time relaxing on the dock and the screened front porch gazing over the lake; also enjoyed a glorious swim and you will find the bike path to Lake George just up the street. My hosts made sure I had everything needed. Their son's consideration made me feel welcome upon arrival. Linda and Russ have a warm, creative, fun family and a summer home I can recommend.
