The Space

***Please note I have another listing of this same location for the whole apartment.***

- Bedroom accommodates 4 persons.

- Bedroom: 2 beds (sleeps 4) with clean sheets and towels, mirror, alarm clock, air conditioning, heating, iron and board, hair dryer... The beds are Futon Sofas.

- Room: 32" LCD TV, gaming console, Blu-ray player, media steaming Roku w/ Netflix. High-speed wireless or wired internet access. Full access to the kitchen, bathroom, and Dining area. Feel free to cook! There is a coin laundry in the basement. The room doubles as the living room when I have no guests. It's closed and private when guests are staying here.

- Neighborhood: Delis, supermarkets, 24 hour pharmacy, banks, post office, restaurants, more all within a few blocks... Safe, clean, historical and hip, Jackson Heights and the nearby neighborhoods are some of the most diverse neighborhoods in the world. = Great cheap food! Argentinians, Ecuadorians, Colombians, South Asians, and East Asians restaurants and shops with variety of cafe options from Paraguay, Colombia, Italy, Bangladesh and Western Europe as well as art and craft stores.

There is also a wonderful year-round greenmarket every Sunday at Travers Park on 77th St and 34th Ave.

Some of the notable folks that have lived in Jackson Heights: Charlie Chaplin, Howard Stern, Lucy Liu, Gene Simmons, Susan Sarandon, Mercedes Ruehl, Don Rickles, Les Paul, John Leguizamo, Montgomery Clift, and the inventors of Scrabble and the Xerox copier... So, you know you're in good company.

Please look up Jackson Heights, Queens to see more about this amazing neighborhood and its rich history.

- *** 5 Minutes from LaGuardia Airport! ***

- Transportation: Subway 15-20 mins to Midtown Manhattan. Six minute walk to the largest subway stop in Queens with five subway train lines (E, F, 7, M, R) and six bus lines (Q32, Q33, Q47, Q49 and Q53). As well as the Q66 on Northern Blvd., two blocks away. The Q33 & Q47 buses go to LaGuardia Airport. The Q53 bus goes to Rockaway Beach, Queens. The Q32 runs all the way from Jackson Heights to Midtown Manhattan, a nice option if you aren't in a rush and want to see NYC from the ground level (instead of the underground) and maybe hop off in the interesting neighborhoods along the way. The Long Island Rail Road Woodside station is nearby on 61st Street and Roosevelt Avenue, which is two stops on the #7 train. Incidentally, the 7 train is one of the few remaining elevated lines in NYC - you're sure to enjoy the birds eye view of the borough!

- No smoking in the apartment.

- No street shoes in the apartment.

- I provide a light continental breakfast. Oatmeal, Toast, Coffee, and Tea.

Interaction with Guests

Depends on schedules. I work many different projects and sometimes am away for days at a time. Sometimes I work from home for long stretches. When I am around, I am very glad to interact!

  • Had a great time at Memo's place. The room is large enough for 3 to sleep very comfortably and with access to kitchen and coin laundry you have everything you need for a week. The room and bathroom were clean. You are very close to Jackson Heights subway with express trains to Manhattan you are in the city in no time. There are great Indian restaurants and supermarkets nearby as well. Whilst Memo wasn't there we had the pleasure of being hosted by his friend and she was very helpful. Overall I highly reccommend.

  • Memo was there when we arrived and he provided us a warming welcome and showed us the pratical use of the appartment. The room is comfortable and quiet so we could sleep so well ! And we appreciated to be offered the breakfast. Our host is dicreet and he gave us informations about NYC, subway and buses, etc...
He already imporved the room by replacing the curtains with doors that let you stay in a quiet place. I warmly recommand his appartment.

  • We had a very good stay in Memo's home. We didn't spend lots of time in the apartment but for the time we were in it was comfortable. Queens borough is safe and the apartment is in a indian/paki/mexican area. There are only 8 minutes walk to reach the nearest subway station. I recommend this host

  • Staying at Memo's place was just great. Perfect location, great privacy and, besides, Memo was very helpful with the delay of our luggages - had no problem to find out what was the problem and then picked them up. I totally recommend Memo. It was fun and enjoyable, definitely would choose Memo again! :)

  • It's a nice place with a good location to Time Square with Great price. The room is clean. You can also play board game and video game in this room. Memo is a great guy to give us many suggestions of restaurants near us. But it's a little bit cold during winter. Still good to visit.

  • We were happy, we could return to Memo's place every evening after walking and discovering the big city, tired and looking for quietness. The room was under construction and maybe a little tiny for us, 5 adults. But I would definitely recommend his place to anyone traveling to NYC, we felt free and welcome.
Thanks! And about your offer, you can expect some of us again, tot talk some more about art for example.. ; )

  • Memo's house was spacious and clean. We spent 20 days there and we enjoyed so much. Memo and his aunt were so nice and helpful, at the end of our staying there they were more than host but friends! Nice and safe neighborhood, 2 blocks away from 2 big grocery market. Thanks! Recommended!

  • MEMO IS A GREAT! HE'S A PEACEFUL AND NICE PERSON, HIS APARTAMENT FOR US, A GROUP OF SIX PERSONS, IT WAS BEEN A GOOD CHOISE!
THE APARTAMENT IS CENTRALLY LOCATED AND CLOSE TO ONE OF THE MAIN SUBWAYS, FIVE LINES SUBWAY STATION AND I THINK THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT TO MOVE AROUND THE CITY.. HERE THE PUBLIC TRANSPORT IS PERFECT FOR COMMUTING. THE APARTAMENT LOCATION IS QUIET AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS MULTICULTURAL WITH GOOD LATINS RESTAURANTS.
THE HOUSE IS PRETTY COZY AND COMFORTABLE. IF YOU WANT TO STAY IN AN AFFORDABLE, CONVENIENT LOCATION THEN LOOK NO FURTHER THAN MEMO'S HOUSE.
WE HAD A GREAT TIME DURING OUR STAY IN NYC AND WE FELT VERY AT EASE WITH MEMO AND HIS APARTAMENT. THANX AGAIN FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY! RECOMMENDED!!!
