this 2 bedrooms + 2 private bathrooms apartment is located right in the hearth of the medieval city of Spello, 10 minutes far from Assisi ( by car ) and close to every important and historical place in Umbria. The tuscan borders is only 45 minutes by car and in Spello there is also a train station if you prefer to travel by train. The view from the apartment is breathtaking...ove the Spello roofs and with an overview to the amazing country side and the rolling hills of Spoleto and Montefalco.
The apartment is completely furbished and ready to host you for your unforgettable stay.
NOT ok for people unable to climb stairs. The apartment is at the 3rd floor, large and comfortable stairs but....stairs ;-) WIFI included. Parking in the street for free and easy to reach ( less than 3 minutes)
Spello is famous in the world for the art, culture, wine and food, and the extraordinary extra virgin olive oil.
Inside of the village there are many restaurant where you will find yummy local food, bruschetta, hand made pasta, black truffle, fresh vegetables and superb wine. WIll be a pleasure for me to suggest you the best place for your meals. If you love trekking from Spello there a number of trails and also the "Saint Francis trail" that is the most important path in this part of Italy.
beautiful house suitable for six people with all the comfort and owner friendly and helpful. a pleasant experience to advise
Cozy, spacious apartment in a charming village--the apartment has a great location right in the center of where you want to be. Spello is a very quiet, low-key, very pretty town to visit (but Assisi is just a train stop away if you need some hustle-bustle). The apartment is spacious and comfortable. Nice details, feels like a much-loved home. The kitchen is wonderfully-stocked, lots of pots and pans to cook up big dinners. Max was a friendly host, greeted us promptly at the train station (much appreciated as we were with two small children).
Can tell why this apartment is well loved by guests and hosts alike!
BY FAR the nicest/friendliest/helpful couple we have stayed with through airbnb.com. For starters, the town is beautiful! The apartment was spacious and can easily fit 4 adults. Chris met us in the piazza, helped with our bags and then showed us where to park for free, told us about restaurants and any other questions we had were answered too. They also had coffee, juice, tea, milk, snacks and a homemade ...... Well, I forget what its called in Italian, but basically a delicious pie! To top our wonderful trip off, I ran out of gas on the freeway (yes, that happened, and Im not proud) BUT Christina & Max were so helpful and arranged for us to be rescued and taken to a gas station even though we had already checked out and were halfway home! I think we would still be somewhere on A14 today, if not for their help! Overall...we give it more than a 5, especially in kindness and hospitality;) I will be staying here again for my next trip to Umbria!
We loved our stay in Spello. Max met us at the station and even paid for a taxi to get all 6 of us plus bags up to the apartment. There are stairs to climb, but we found them to be OK, especially as we only had to do it once with luggage. The apartment was clean, warm and comfortable. Max was very helpful with information about the area (ie where to buy food etc). As a place to be based for day trips, or just to explore the town itself, we would stay here again. Thanks!!
Max met us at a local enoteca when we arrived and showed us to his lovely apartment in the center of Spello. He has a great sense of humour and offered some good recommendations for places nearby. We really loved the apartment and the location was ideal. We were minutes within walking distance to the best restaurants in town. There is free parking a 10 minute walk away, wifi and a fully equipped kitchen. We felt right at home and would definitely return to this place again. Spello was one of our favorite hill towns that we visited during our 3 week trip through Tuscany and Umbria! I highly recommend the town and the apartment!
The apartment and the small town are wonderful. Max very generously picked us up at Perugia station - thank you Max, it was really appreciated, as was your help getting our luggage upstairs!.
Barbara ,Graeme and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in such a charming, comfortable ,clean and spacious apartment.. Max spent time providing an orientation to the apartment as well as to the town including suggestions on where we might eat He also left us a platter of Italian pastries "for our Breakfast" which, needless to say, were delicious .
Very nice flat in which you feel really at home, fully equipped, with refined objects, very different from the normal rented flat.
A lot of nice thought like the bacio perugina on the pillow.
We all really enjoyed it
Max & Christina's medival house in Spello is nothing short of fantastic! Sharon and I spent five days there and our only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer.
Max met us at the train station (not necessary but much appreciated) and drove us up along the narrow cobbled stoned roads lined with the local vendors to the town centre where we parked the car. From there a short three minute to the house; through huge solid doors, marble floored foyer and wide low rise steps to the third floor, we walked into the house and were "blown away".
The first impression is that this is someone's home.. personal touches throughout; family pictures hung, tastefully decorated, antique furniture and beautifully accented. The kitchen/dining/family area is very large and open, a large second bedroom and huge master bedroom (both with their own large bathrooms) make for a very comfortable stay. The view from the windows, sitting in a lounge chair with a glass of wine while overlooking the valley... postcard! After a thorough review of all the workings of the house, including key check, then a quick review of the local map and off we went, Max giving us a tour of the city, pointing out sites, recommending restaurants and introducing us to vendors.
Spello itself is a charming village with beautiful churches, roman aquaducts and roman walls and sites, many of which have been incorporated into the local buildings (one can sit and have a glass of wine or feast upon fresh pasta while being surrounded by 3rd century brick walls). The town has all the appeal of the larger towns/cities in the area but without the hassle of the crowds which makes for a very relaxing stay. There are also many hiking trails (for all levels) which link the towns and takes one through olive orchards and across the hillside.
This is a beautiful place to stay and if we ever have the opportunity to return to Italy we will be planning the trip around Max and Christina's place in Spello.
