  • This apartment was a nice spot with a pleasant style. Antonia gave us a hearty welcome and her (on airbnb) famous welcome suprise. The only things that were not perfect, were the almost cold shower - she is working on this - and the fact, that one of the 2 beds were a bit short for one of us (as a tall person), so we prefered to sleep separate. Nonetheless, we booked here already again!

  • We stayed in Antonia and Manoli's apartment for one whole week, and we couldn't have had a warmer welcome.

Antonia came to meet us at the Bus stop, showed us the ropes and made us feel very comfortable. We were welcomed with some traditional Greek food and wine too - what a way to start a holiday!

Manolis was very helpful in arranging the stay, and his email communication was very quick!

The apartment is very comfortable and well equipped, plenty of space and only a 10 minutes walk to the bars and beach in Amoudara.

The area, in October time, was quite quiet, which is exactly what we wanted.

The apartment is ideal if you want a base to travel around the island from, with the main road along the coast at the bottom of the road. We hired a car from the rental place along the main street, and explored the island, heading to Chania (definitely recommend a visit), and we walked the Samarias Gorge on the south side of the island.

We had a wonderful stay in Pinelopi Apartment, and would definitely recommend it.

Thank you very much for having us!

  • We couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome to Crete, or Greece in general. Antonia was absolutely lovely, greeting us with hugs, beautiful food and drinks and giving us a lift into town as well. It was like visiting a favourite relative you didn't know you had! The apartment is small and perfectly formed, tastefully decorated and pristine with a small section with a table outside. Gazi is ideal if you don't want to stay in town and the beach is large and lovely, with a main road just behind providing anything you would need. The area is a lot less 'package deal' than Gouves and we'd definitely stay again as a great intro into Crete, coupling the rural feel (olive trees, quieter roads) and being a stone's throw away from Heraklion. Thank you so much Antonia. You were just wonderful xxx

  • Hands down the best AirBnB host to-date. A lovely warm welcome that included some beautifully homemade food.

Throughout the stay Antonia was extremely helpful with any questions we had.

I cannot express how magical this trip was made by Antonia. A fantastic experience. A must visit.

  • Our stay, albeit for one night in this apartment was a standout. It was clean, inviting & incredibly welcoming after a long day of travelling. The other ingredient that made it such a sensational stay was Antonia! She welcomed us with hot cheesy cakes drizzled with honey and steaming cups of Cretan mountain tea. This was then followed up with a delicious dessert. She made us feel so incredibly welcome and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and at home. She was also great in advising us of transport to the sites we wanted to see. She generously dropped us off at the bus stop to Chania and even advised us of the right side to sit on the bus! Email communication with Manolis was great as well. We cannot recommend this apartment more highly.

  • We only stayed for a night so it's hard to judge, but we were warmly greeted with traditional Greek food and drink. Fridge was already stocked with sweets, fruit and water. Kitchen had everything you would need. Bed was small but as she describes it "for people who love each other" lol she was very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. She wasn't joking when she said the hot water takes a while to come through.. Prob about 10minutes bit no issue really. We only stayed for a night but if you were planning an extended stay would have everything you need. Good wifi in lounge area, cuts out in room. She made us a huge breakfast.. I mean HUGE with lovely herbal tea, we weren't sure if this came with the room or if she was just being nice. But it was amazing.. Really traditional and yummy. Dropped us off at the bus stop the next day and gave us good directions to the airport. We didn't get to see the beach but it seems pretty close. Really clean, everything you need, great host

  • A superb quiet location, a short walk to the beach, buses & services.
We were very overwhelmed by Antonia's hospitality, she was very gracious and on hand to make sure we were comfortable. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and ideal for the Cretan heat of Sept. Fully equipped, spacious, self contained, all new and working appliances. All communication was excellent. We feel very lucky to have met Antonia and stay in her lovely apartment which made our Greek experience much nicer than we imagined.
