The space
This cottage is the main homestead that once belong to my great grandparents. There is a small guesthouse rental unit situated on the property behind this cottage that was built for a blind friend of theirs in the mid 1900s.

LOCAL SALES TAX
As of July 1, all Canadian Airbnb hosts are required by Canada Revenue Agency to charge the local sales tax. I'm not sure why but it will appear as "Occupancy Fees or Property use taxes" rather than "Sales Tax". If the host does not directly charge tax, Airbnb will build it into their Airbnb Service fee.

COVID 19:
After each booking, all of the surface areas are cleaned with disinfectants.

Airbnb is no longer issuing refunds due to covid-related issues. They've stated that anyone making travel plans now has had ample time to be aware of the risks and should be prepared to assume those risks if planing to travel. Therefore standard cancelation policies are in place. There will be no refunds or date modifications due to border closures or travel restrictions.

HOT TUB: The hot tub and sauna seen in some pics are not on-site, they are at the new Nordic Spa in our area. We've been getting a lot of bookings from spa guests so we included a couple of photos to our listing.

Please read all details and house rules as we want there to be no surprises on arrival.

I have been managing vacation rental properties for the past 17 years in Nova Scotia, Canada and enjoy creating spaces to enhance our guest's holiday experience.

I am super prompt to reply and will do my absolute best to make sure you have everything you need. My greatest fear with this industry is having guests feel disappointed on their arrival, so I try to be as transparent as possible about our restored, 100 year old cottages. If you have any concerns or questions please ask.

All of our cottages have been in my family for 100+ years. Homesteads to my great grand parents on both sides of my family, I've been slowly buying and restoring them. They contain a lot of heritage and memories that I'm happy to keep in the family. Every old home deserves as second chance at life :)

This cottage is part of the Far Far Away Cottages Collection, a registered business for over 11 years, as such, our prices include HST and we collect a credit card on arrival in the event of incidental damages. Our properties are found on several global booking sites as well as our own proprietary website.

There have been a high number of reported accounts of vandalism and damage incurred by Airbnb travelers in Nova Scotia this past year. As such we now collect a Visa or Master Card number on arrival strictly for the purpose of incidental damages. All other payments will be collected and processed via Airbnb as per usual.
