We live in a newly renovated brownstone in one of the most beautiful Brooklyn neighborhoods - the historic Stuyvesant Heights. We have been Airbnb hosts for over 3 years and have been living in our current apartment for 2 years. We offer a quirky private room with a comfortable full size bed and an inflatable mattress for additional guests. You also have access to our beautiful living room, bathroom, and our large kitchen. The apartment features hard wood flooring throughout, marble flooring in the kitchen and bathroom, vintage furniture and art. We have a well-stocked library of books and a pretty amazing music collection of CD's and vinyl. We also have a small game table stocked with an authentic Cuban domino set, playing cards among other games. Our home is Queer friendly. We have a beautiful hypoallergenic cat named Hop Hop that is low key and very friendly.
Public transportation is a breeze, as we live a 5-7 minute walk from the A/C Utica Express subway stop. Manhattan is just a quick 20 minute subway ride away! JFK Airport is a straight shot to us - just hop on the A train and you'll be here in 45 minutes! If you prefer to bike around Brooklyn, we have a bike we can rent out for $10/day. We are also surrounded by great restaurants- have authentic Italian cuisine at Saraghina (1 block away), AMAZING Soul Food at Peaches (2 blocks away), and fresh Italian seafood at Celestino (around the corner). We are happy to give you our recommendations.
If you are around on the weekends, we love collaborating on dinners with our guests! We make traditional Cuban and Mexican meals, but we have an eclectic pallet.

Our stay in NYC was brief. Ivette and her roommates were friendly, though not engaging. There were many visiting friends throughout the evening due to NewYears Eve. Very fun for nightlife. The apartment was warm and filled with great artwork, certainly full of personality. We had issues with allergies due to dust and a cat, but were fine none the less. We were invited to use glassware and cookware, if necessary. There was a mini-fridge in the small room, which is nice. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. Very easy to find parking along the street. It was a 15 min walk to the subway and 30 min ride into Manhattan- very easy to navigate. We left a care package but never received a response from the host, hopefully they appreciate our gesture. Overall, this place is great if u like to party throughout the night and want no interaction with the host.
We stayed here for 1 night and only met Ivette briefly during our check-in, but she was welcoming and helpful. The apartment was clean and the beds were comfortable. They also have an adorable and friendly cat!
It was a good stay at this place. We cannot say much since we just stay for one night. It is a lit bit far from the centre of the city but still okay.
The place was quite small even it said that it can be for three or even four.
Our stay at Ivette's home was great. The Utica Ave station is about a ten minute walk from the house and it takes you straight to Manhattan. We didn't get to meet Ivette but her housemates David and Andrew were kind and we all did our own thing through out the whole stay. Her home was clean and even though the room was a little small for two people it wasn't too bad to deal with since we were gone most of the time. I would recommend this space and would return.
Amazing host, really easy to just get to the place and feel comfortable at home. Not much distraction!
The location is great, very close to the subway. The room itself is very comfortable and the apartment is beautifully decorated. Ivette was very helpful in suggesting travel plans and nearby restaurants.

We are a young queer Cuban couple living in Brooklyn, NY. Ivette, a Los Angeles native, came to NY 3 years ago, and Crystal has called New York her home her entire adult life. We are Economics graduates turned fashion designers and are currently working on our third collection showing in NY Fashion Week this Fall. Besides fashion we are VERY passionate about music and the arts, so we are always happy to talk/learn/discuss/watch/listen any and everything arts related.
