About This Listing
We live in a newly renovated brownstone in one of the most beautiful Brooklyn neighborhoods - the historic Stuyvesant Heights. We have been Airbnb hosts for over 3 years and have been living in our current apartment for 2 years. We offer a quirky private room with a comfortable full size bed and an inflatable mattress for additional guests. You also have access to our beautiful living room, bathroom, and our large kitchen. The apartment features hard wood flooring throughout, marble flooring in the kitchen and bathroom, vintage furniture and art. We have a well-stocked library of books and a pretty amazing music collection of CD's and vinyl. We also have a small game table stocked with an authentic Cuban domino set, playing cards among other games. Our home is Queer friendly. We have a beautiful hypoallergenic cat named Hop Hop that is low key and very friendly.
Public transportation is a breeze, as we live a 5-7 minute walk from the A/C Utica Express subway stop. Manhattan is just a quick 20 minute subway ride away! JFK Airport is a straight shot to us - just hop on the A train and you'll be here in 45 minutes! If you prefer to bike around Brooklyn, we have a bike we can rent out for $10/day. We are also surrounded by great restaurants- have authentic Italian cuisine at Saraghina (1 block away), AMAZING Soul Food at Peaches (2 blocks away), and fresh Italian seafood at Celestino (around the corner). We are happy to give you our recommendations.
If you are around on the weekends, we love collaborating on dinners with our guests! We make traditional Cuban and Mexican meals, but we have an eclectic pallet.

I had a great time. Ivette wasn't there as she was away but she had everything sorted for me through her friend Andrew and was really flexible about my arrival and checkout time. Wonderful location, nice apartment. I would stay again
I didn't actually meet Ivette, but I think she might be pretty cool based on her decor. And the books! Not that I read any while there. If you can judge a person it's by their library &/or art and hers is awesome. Her roommate, David, was sweet as pie. Getting in was easy and he suggested a few places to get some small meals/coffee in the area. The place is nice, the neighborhood's quiet, her cat is friendly and the location is pretty close to the train. I'd go back.
The apartment and room was beautiful. The kitty was very friendly and wanted to spend time with us, but we were headed out to the city. I didn't see the host, but met her roommate who was very friendly. Ivette also answered her phone right away when I had trouble entering her apartment (my fault) later that evening- even though she was at work djing.
